I snuck back into the house. Trying to be as quiet as humanly possible. I kept my breathing low and tried to listen carefully for any sounds of movement.

I had no idea where Ben could be keeping Sam and Adriel.

This house was huge, and I felt like an ant in it.

"Hey Georgia, do you know where Caitlyn is?"

I halted in the hallway, coming to a complete stop. One of the room doors were open on the left and I assumed that's where the voice came from. It was a male voice too, and by his deep tone, I believe he was older then me.

"She's not in the kitchen?" A female replied.

Caitlyn must be the girl I just killed. I slowly etched closer to the doorway. Making sure to keep my body against the wall the door way was on.

"No, but I saw an unfinished plate..." He trailed. "When was the last time you checked on the girl and the two boys?" He asked, seeming to put two and two together.

Raising my rifle, I walked inside the room, leveling my eyes with it so I can aim properly.

"Get down on your knees, don't scream or shout and nobody dies." I rushed, closing the door behind me and locking it. While I did this I kept my rifle pointed at them, and not removing my eyes from their figures.

The male, was a tall white man. He had brown wavy hair and a beard that reminded me of a movie about a man who becomes stranded on an island.

"Okay, okay. No need for anyone to die." The guy raised his arms up and slowly got down onto the ground on his knees like I instructed.

The women looked at him with a disapproving glare, and I knew she was going to be a problem.

"Lady, I'm warning you. Get. Down. Now." I said, the last part through clenched teeth.

"Or what?" She retorted. "You won't shoo-"

I wasn't in the mood to play games so I didn't waste my time with her.

I shot her straight through the head, and her wrinkly lean body fell on the ground with a loud, thud.

Blood and brain guts poured and exploded, some of it even landed on the guy beside her and on the tip of my black combat boots, and in a flash I saw my own mother's bloodied body on the ground. My eyes widened, and I took a step back in disbelief.

I blinked, my mother's body no longer there but the women instead.

I let out a slow breath.

Get your shit together Scarlet.

The man looked at the women's body in horror, but he quickly hid his expression to one that showed no emotion.

"Where is he keeping my nephew and sister?" I demanded, keeping my gun leveled with his head.

He looked at the rifle before meeting my eyes with a hard, cold stare. "Wouldn't you like to know." He stated.

It annoyed me that he was playing tough when a minute ago he was willing to cooperate with my directions. I would have shot him if I didn't need him.

"Dude, I'm in no mood for jokes or any kind of games. So just tell me what I want to know, and we can leave this situation with the both of us alive." I paused before adding. "All I want is my family, that's it."

He kept a hard face.

I nodded, annoyed that he wasn't talking. I moved my rifle to aim at his hand before pulling the trigger.

The guy screamed in pain, holding his hand that now had a hole in it with blood oozing out at a rapid pace. He cradled it, almost crying in agony.

"You fucking bitch!" He shouted through his intense pain.

"I'm only getting started bud. First it's your hand, then it's your other hand, after that your knee cap for both of your legs and if you still don't want to talk, I'll shoot your left foot, and then your right foot.." I aimed my gun to his left hand the one that wasn't shot yet.

He looked at the gun in horror. "I'll talk!" He shouted, tears from the pain sprinkling down his face. "Just put the gun down."

"Tell me where they are." Relieved that I wouldn't have to torture him anymore, I kept my emotionless, hard face on.

I couldn't afford to show any signs of weakness, that's how they take advantage.

"Ben keeps usually keeps them in the outhouse. " he said continuing to cradle his right hand.

"Where is it?" I saw a rag on the dresser right next to me, keeping the rifle on the gun I slowly moved to it, seeing him occupied with his hand.

I quickly grabbed it and I tossed it to him.

He looked down at the rag, before slowly picking it up and placing it onto his wound.

"It's hard to explain, but I can show you." I watched him wince when he wrapped the towel around his wounded hand.

"How can I know you won't lead me into a trap?" I asked, mentally debating if I should take him up on his offer.

"You don't." He glared. "But you don't really have a choice, do you?" He retorted.

His rhetorical question annoyed me, because he was right. If I wanted to get to Sammie and Adriel before they're killed, I have to have this guy show me where they are.

Lately it seems like all I've been doing is risking my life, I hope this habit ends.

"Fine." I agreed, not liking the idea of having someone I don't know and trust leading me to a place with more people I don't know and trust.

"Stand up lets go." I ordered, motioning him to get up with the rifle.

He stood up slowly, holding his hand.

"But Make no mistake, if I think you're in any way shape or form going to try anything, I will kill you." I made sure to keep my distance, but I also wanted my cold words to get through his skull.

He only looked at me, and unlocked the door before opening it. He glanced back at me, before walking forward to the front door again.

"How many of you people are there?" I asked, the question just now popping into my head.

It would have been smarter of me to ask this while we were in that room.

He didn't answer my question so I pushed him with the tip of my rifle, making him stumble a few steps.

He glared back at me. "Six, including myself. " He mummbled.

I barely heard his words from how quietly he said it, but I heard it nonetheless.

We were now outside, walking along the edge of the brown wooden fence that led to the grass plains and woodland area.

I looked around, keeping my rifle pointed at him.

It wasn't too long until he stopped to carefully jump the fence. He turned to face me, waiting for me to follow.

"Walk ten steps forward." I told him.

I didn't want to take the chance of him trying anything, so I wanted him as far away as possible while I hopped the wooden fence.

With hesitation, he turned and walked ten steps before stopping, as he walked I jumped the fence, and when he finished I was already walking over towards him. Raising my rifle again, and keeping it on him.

"How much longer?" I asked as we walked past the barn.

The guy only looked back at me, but he didn't bother to answer my question.

We walked for a couple of minutes, passing the two walkers I had killed earlier today, before we walked past a pond where you could clearly see a small cabin looking house.

It reminded me of a shed. You could tell it was made by people who didn't know what they were doing because of the uneven structure that made the roof slant downward.

As soon as we got there, someone decided to exit the shed.

"Frank? Aren't you suppose to be on watch for-"

The girl spotted me behind Frank and tensed in her spot. Her eyes widened when she saw my rifle.

"Don't scream. I'm not afraid to use my weapon." Seeming to be frozen in fear she nodded quickly.

I walked closer to Frank, watching the girl closely. I saw her eyes dart behind me for a split second before coming back to me.

She must have thought I missed that small movement but I didn't. I quickly jumped to the side, turning around as I did.

I was right to do that too, because behind me was a huge man. He was a giant compared to me, he had a shovel in his hands, and he swung it at me. It caught me off guard so it knocked me down, the rifle fell a couple of inches away from me.

I quickly reached for it, all the while fighting the pain that ensued because of the hard wack I had taken to the stomach.

It nearly knocked the wind out of me.

My finger tips barely reached the rifle when I noticed the man was about to swing at me again. I quickly rolled on my side, the shovel nearly missing me.

Now getting a hold of the gun, I pulled the trigger when I had it pointed at him.

Most of the bullets missed him, but I was able to hit him in the lower abdomen before I sat up and aimed for his head.

The man looked down at his now bleeding abdomen in surprise, his eyes trailing back up to me in shock.

I quickly pulled the trigger, and I watched as the bullet pierced his skull.

As soon as it did his body began to fall forward.

My eyes widened and In a frantic attempt, I scrambled to get up and move away. He nearly landed on me, almost crushing me in the process.

I turned back to Frank and the girl, but they were both gone.

Dammit.

I mentally cursed, but ran to the small cabin anyways.

Frank said there was only six of them. That man I just killed, made three dead. Only Frank, Ben, and that girl remained.

I threw the cabin door open, but was disappointed to find it empty.

My heart broke, and I entered the small house all together. Taking a look around.

What I saw disgusted me, so much I ran to a corner to puke. I could feel the vomit lurching forward and I kept gagging. Finally I got a hold of myself, and I covered my nose with my sleeve.

There was blood everywhere. However it wasn't the blood, it was the peeled human skin, eyes, and fresh human flesh that really traumatized me.

I reached the back of the shack, seeing a tiny body covered in what looked like salt, on the floor.

I gasped loudly, running to it. I couldn't see the body's face because it was facing down, but I quickly turned him upside up.

"Oh god." I cried, jumping back at the sight.

His eyes were gone and what was left were two empty sockets.

I stared at the dead kid in horror.

As wrong as it was, I was happy that it was him, and not Adriel or Samantha.
