Anyway, as promised here's the update...

"Gift?" Shuvro asked, "for whom?" Instantly his mind started counting the birthdays and anniversaries of the people of his known. Because when Tuli matter of factly said that after the work hour they are gonna head to the City Centre to by "the gift" she sounded very obvious, like Shuvro must know what she was talking about.

"What do you mean by for whom?" Her forehead formed a scowl as she headed to the first year lab session. "Who's wedding invitations did you receive last Sunday?"

"Oh!" Soul reincarnated in Shuvro's body but the next second he whined "but there is time-" all he wanted to do was go home with his wife and spend times in private - where kisses and hugs and more wouldn't be frowned upon or just to just lie on the bed and roll for some times. After a day of work why was he getting punished by getting dragged to some shopping mall. He scrunched his face like a five year old.

"Its next week Shuvro!! And at the month end we won't have that much money in hand to buy something nice any. Besides credit card bill is long enough to put some more. So stop complaining." Like a teacher Tuli said before saying bye and cutting the call as she walked in her laboratory.

Shuvro stayed in his office chair sulking a little more.

The watch was saying seven in the evening when Ratul came out of the auditorium holding Renuka's hand in his.

"I would have rather have you at the home than watching this shit movie." He announced coming out with a irritated face.

With wide eyes Renuka notice some heads from the movie crowd snapping at them as Ratul's loud voice knocked their ear. With scarlet face she even saw a girl giggling at her. But her boyfriend could careless.

"But you are the one who wanted to watch Ranbir Kapo..." he continued his rant but flinched as her slap interfered touching his forearm. "What?"

"People are watching! Stop being so loud." She hissed nuzzling her face in his fore arm with the intention of hiding inside him. Looking around Ratul took a look of Renuka's warm and red face again before letting out a chuckle.

She walked beside him drawing herself near to him. Her palm stayed in his grip. He tighten his grip a little as she approached him.

It was about to be almost one year now Renuka was with him. Even after all the warning that came again and again in her mind that her sister once had said, she could just never really, successfully go away from this man. What was with him that was so much irresistibly indomitable that had pulled and made her stay at the same place every time she wanted to run from him - she never knew.

In this one year she had seen a lot of sides of him, some of them was frightening, when he had opened his heart out for her his past evoked disgust in her - but she couldn't, she just couldn't leave him. The look he had in his eyes, the fear he held every time he gave peeps of his own a little by little infront of her until his soul and body was stripped naked - that begging and helpless bewildered gaze did not let her go anywhere.

"Do you want the red velvet or Choco chip?" Ratul asked stopping in front of a bakery.

"Red velvet."

Refusing to leave her hand he held out his purse and ask her "pull out the card."

"Ratul stop annoying me and do that yourself." She mock glared as she saw a pair of older people and a girl with her parents looking at them with judging eyes.

"You scold me. You have changed!"

And making a baby scowl Ratul left her hand to pull his card out. But he did not left her hand completely, instead just put it between his body and forearm making a pout. She sighed with chuckle.

Walking side by side they came at the open place of the mall, where around a small fountain a place of seating area was created with concretes. The area was surrounded by stairs going upwards at the four sides. Under the open air of the area lots of people were hanging out from giggling girls and boys, yelling families to blushing couples. At one side of the crowd on a stair Renkua and Ratul sat with cake and tea pots in hands.

"Are you coming this Sunday? Maa is very eager to meet you." Renu chirped having a bite of her cake. A light frown of thoughts appeared over Ratul's forehead.

Blowing over the tea, in a demure voice he spoke, "don't you think, telling your cousin is the first thing to do before I meet your parents?"

"I will convince her." She said confidently.

"Huh! Before or after she stab me?"

Hearing him Renu kept looking at him for some times and then smiling one hand of her raised to cup his face and turned at her. Scrunching her nose mockingly she said "my sister is nothing infront my will to marry you darling! Never doubt I love." She quoted Shakespeare. And both laughed at the apparent appropriateness of it.

But Ratul's laughter suddenly got hitched with a sudden break as his gaze caught something or rather someone from side of his eyes behind his girlfriend. A weird sound came out from the back of his throat as it started getting parched and his eyes became wide. Renu followed her gaze and her heart jumped up till her mouth.

There with in mere distance of twenty feet stood Tuli and Shuvro talking animatedly over something with bags in hands.

"Why! Why! Why!" Renu heard Ratul's voice squeaking. Before realising what they should do Renu witnessed Shuvro's head to snap at thei direction - maybe feeling their eyes on them. He mouthed something and Tuli's eyes met Renuka's.

"Never take name of evils!" Ratul growled.

Renuka opened her mouth but failed to process words out. Then at last said "may be..." with intention of saying something positive but turning her head could not find anyone. "Ratul!" She hissed but could not find the person anywhere.

"Hey!!!" Tuli came rushing towards her with a smile on her face. "What are you doing here?"

"Haa...heh-hi!" With various attempt of hiding the nervousness with laughter Renu said a "Hi." at both the RoyChoudhurys.

"Are you alone here?" Tuli asked. "What are you doing here alone? Its getting late!" The concern of the sisters voice could be sweet if the situation was different. But it seemed to Renuka she was going to faint at that very moment. Though Tuli's smile was assuring her that she had not seen anything but Shuvro with a frown looking here and there with searching gaze was making her nauseous.

"I... just like that. What are yo..." Renuka couldn't complete her sentence as her brother-in-law's interfering voice stopped her.

"Why do I think I saw Ratul?" Shuvro asked making Renuka's heart stop.

"Ratul?" Tuli's voice expressed doubt. "What would he do here, that to with Renu?" She smiled at the stupidity of her husband and shook her head at Renu who giggled more nervously. But Shuvro was no one to leave anything easily.

And hiding behind a nearby pillar Ratul knew that very well. Thus he greeted his best friends eyes sight with so many colourful words one could imagine.

"But I saw him..." Shuvro mumbled as he wondered if he was hallucinating that too Ratul!

"Well. You must be wrong." Tuli mildly put her hand on Shuvro's forearm. In any other situation this touch could send some real fireworks through Shuvro's veins and turned him into Tarzan. But at this moment he needed to be proven right. So ignoring his wife's sweet suggestion, smile and electrifying touches he turning into Sherlock kept looking through the pillars.

"I saw..." he murmured.

Standing there Renuka realised she was not in the earth any more. Like drugged mind she was floating in the air leaving her body and that feeling made her dizzy.

And proving Shuvro right his best friend walked out, beside a pillar. "There he is!" He grinned with triumph.

Planting a fake smile on his face Ratul approached the trio. His eyes trained on Shuvro and mind kept shouting, 'Congratulations mother fucker! You have successfully won the prize of thousand fuckery, by keep looking for me. You sweet piece of shit!'...
