A/N: So here is a part. Now if this part gets enough votes, I shall post another update tomorrow...

May began bringing news for Tuli. As she joined university returning from Shimla,  she was welcomed by her colleagues with the news of the university offering her a position in the faculty, turning her lectureship into an associate professor of the department. A sudden void in the department due to the sudden demise of a fellow professor brought her the opportunity.
"Are you gonna treat me or what?" Sneha chirped as she beamed near Tuli excitedly. Tuli gave her grin still eyeing the offering letter in her hand. "And you got'ta tell me about your honeymoon..."
"It was no honeymoon Sneha!" Tuli protested mildly rolling her eyes and then read the letter again before mumbling from a state of un-believability "And I still can't believe it..."
"Common Tuli, you deserve it!" Sneha shrugged with a confident smile.
"7 years of work paying off!"
"Yah!"
"Sorry about Dr Ghosh though. But, does feeling partially happy about it, make me a bad person?" Tuli bit her tongue experiencing a feel of guilty pleasure while pushing the letter inside the envelope. And Sneha chuckled shaking her head. Tuli got up from her chair to head towards the principle's cabin. She pulled out her phone to call her mother to share the news. Mrs. Sengupta wept and remembered Tuli how Tuli had her father's blessings all the time with her as well as her also telling her how much proud she was of her daughter.
She talked to her mother but a restlessness inside her was tormenting as she could not wait to share the news with a person. The only person she could think of to share the news with at once.
So when her mother asked her "Have you told Shuvro?" A churn of excitement ran inside her stomach at the pit of it.
"No. Not yet!" She replied anxiously.

*

"You have no idea how much I-I am proud of you Tuli!" Shuvro said in his ever calm voice but his face had a beaming smile with glowing eyes as he looked at her, that was expressing how much excited he was.
"I can not believe it Shuvo. Assistant Professors generally don't get such opportunities before 10 years of experiences..." she bit her lower lip to lease the bubbling excitement inside her. She sat opposite to Shuvro at a booth of Oh Calcutta! restaurant. After getting the news from him he dragged her to her favourite restaurant in the city for lunch. "We should calibrate Tuli! At once!" He had said.
"Tuli, you are one of the most brilliant and intelligent people I have came across in my life." He spoke, unknowingly reaching over the table to take her hand in his. Looking into her eyes he spoke in husky voice, "trust me no one deserve it more than you. No one can."
She looked at him being surprised. A knot inside her stomach started twisting as she listened to him looking in his jet black eyes through those thick big glasses. Vocabulary failed her as she couldn't understand how to form a sentence.
After chains of moments passed she whispered, "You don't know my colleagues..."
"I don't need to." She got his matter of fact reply instantly, "you got gold medal in your masters degree Tuli, how can you even question your ability or your pertinence."
She smiled listening to him. The waiter came with the starter. Shuvro had ordered all Tuli's favourite in a go causing a riot of the verity and quantities.
"How are we, just the two of us gonna eat all this? Have you gone mad!!!" She doubted with an apprehensive chuckle. "That too just for the starter!!!"
"Don't underestimate us!" He said before leaping towards the Mushirdabadi murgi.

"I am not questioning myself in anything though!" Tuli quipped putting a morsel of her favourite of the main course, Dab chingri mixing with rice and she closed her eyes surrendering to the extreme fineness and delicious excellency of the dish.
"Don't even." Shuvro said gorging the food. "Soon you will get a position of tenured professor too."
Tuli's eyes opened with a jolt as his words entered in her ears "you have awful lot of confidence in me."
"Have I ever not?"
She shook head in negation and looked down at her dishes to hide the beautiful blooming scarlet blossoms on her cheeks. Creating a pattern on her plate with the spoon she mumbled." for that I need to get the doctorate first."
"That you will." He said with a genuine grin beaming on his face before he resumed devour the delicacies.
The prawn in Tuli's plate stayed in their places as she kept doodling on the plate with the spoon. She inched the eyelids a little up to peep through the eyelashes to look at her husband who sat infront of her - as she sat with heating up ears, reddening face.

A week rolled by and with very big package from a cake shop Tuli returned home early one day. Very cautiously she put it up on a cupboard of the kitchen as if to keep it in concealment of people eyes.
She then headed towards her room to change.

*

When the clock struck midnight Shuvro startled as he heard singing of "Happy birthday!" Coming through the door and inching closer to him.
With a tray in hand and having a big Choco-chip cheese cake on it, very gingerly Tuli approached him, while singing the wishing song.
Placing the tray of the cake on the bed she urged him to cut the cake and make a wish.
The grin adorned on his face as he, looking at her twinkling bright eyes, wished for her once again...
