"So.." Suvro cleared his voice sitting at the dinner table beside Tuli. "You stay here, and I will come on Sunday, the day after tomorrow to take you back?" He asked her while a small smile adorned his face.

The day was spent nicely. Some of Tulika's relatives were there, and though his wife didn't spare even one glance at him, he didn't feel alone after a long time. Tuli's mother's motherliness overwhelmed the emptiness of his mother. The lady loved him a lot, since his childhood.

Among Tuli's three best friends this always quite guy was her always favourite. The guy would just sit there with a grin on his face and watch the other three monkeys go crazy.

She loved Sumedh a lot, the boy was like a crazy wind of freshness. Everything seemed so joyful and okay when the guy would ve around.

Maybe Suvro was not that very much of a guy to fall for with just first conversion, but one thing was very much clear that he can be trusted with responsibilities.

"Doesn't look all that much of bad with our Tuli, does he?" Tuli's mother had asked her father smilingly looking at their new son in law. In reply, her father gave Tuli's mother's hand a squeeze. "Only thing matters is, whether she is happy or not. It hasn't been even one week she committed..."

"Huss! There are relatives..." her mother had hushed and walked away.

But the worry was undeniable.

So when she heard Suvro talking to Tuli about his leaving she rushed to him.

"But you to spend one night here at least." Tuli's mother whined looking at her son in law.

Suvro looked up with a guilty smile "Not possible aunty. I am a corporate slave you see. I squeezed out only one day leave today but I have to appear tomorrow at nine sharp."

"Ya, you can go from here!" She argued and looked at her own daughter ushering her with "kire tui bol kichu! Ask him to stay, why are you sitting there locking your mouth?"

Tuli looked up at her mother with displeasure. Reading her face before she could open her mouth to utter anything Suvro spoke up, "even if she asks, I can not create that many problems for you Kakima..."

"You are my son in law now Suvro, there is no problem, that you can cause me. You are like my son." Mrs Sengupta spoke with poignancy, establishing her stubbornness. And then she turned to her husband to ask him to ask Suvro to stay.

All this while Suvro was busy noticing every movement of every mussel and change of expression of Tuli's face. The indifference on her face and annoyance on her mother's persistent asking for him to stay; made Suvro a little dejected.

"I am sorry, I will come Sunday definitely at the break of the dawn, but I need to leave now," Suvro said stubbornly.

"You should have asked him to stay for tonight Tuli!" Tulika's mother growled walking inside her room in the night after everything was done. "I mean he is your husband Tuli. You should have insisted on him. Such things are expected from you. And you are here wondering everywhere without any bridal sign anywhere..." her mother was too engrossed in pointing out her faults and duties, that when she looked up at Tulika's face properly she halted with a jolt.

Her daughter was looking at her with thousands of questions in her eyes and so many accusations. Her dismal face almost was suffocating Mrs Sengupta.

"Don't look at me like that Tuli..."

"Am I supposed to behave like everything is normal mother? Cause you are being questioned by the relatives?" Tuli hissed out and the last few words got touched with a crack in sound as her throat started paining, getting choked.

"For heaven sake Tuli..." her mother rushed to her and grasped her hands in her.

"I am done, mother. I am done. Trust me. I am so tired of all this... all this drama. Nonsense." Tears started strolling down her eyes enjoying all the anger inside her.

"Don't you talk like that Tuli!!!" Mrs Sengupta howled as the mother's eyes welled up as well "I will slap you so tight. You think me as your enemy! Fine, go on. But your father!!! Do you have any idea what he has been through for those few hours? What has he done to deserve this? How can you be so cruel on us?" The mother cried out along with the daughter. "There is no pain in the world that can overrule the pain of losing a child of own. That too in this age!"

Time passed on but the tears in the eyes of the mother and daughter didn't know limits. Mrs. Sengupta kept rambling and crying hugging tightly her daughter in her arms. And Tuli ka kept sheding all the tears hearing her mother's heartbeat along her talking. "Trust me Tuli. Everything will be alright. All we want is good things for you. Don't you treat us in such cruel manner again!"

From the doorstep the worried father witnessed everything, and then wiping his silent tears off his wrinkles, before anyone could witness, he strolled away quitely.

"Everything will be alright Tuli. Suvro is a good guy. He will take care of you well... One day you will understand..." the mother whispered planting a light kiss on the daughter's hair while running her fingers on her hair.

"Then ask that to come soon maa. Cause I can't take it anymore maa, I am exhausted of..." her sentence trailed off in inaudible murmurs, as she dozed off...
