In the POV of Dream, the next day

I wake up to see Nightmare still on my chest, her hand running through my hair as she breathes lightly. She looks peaceful and serene, a beautiful calmness infecting her aura.

"Good morning," she whispers, pulling her head up to my ear, resting her head on my shoulder. Her stomach faces down and her right leg is lifted over mine.

"Good morning. Did you sleep okay?" I ask, forcing my nerves to shut off. She was making the moves but I was too scared to make mine. Pitiful, I had to fix it. I have my chance but if I don't go for it, I'll throw this trip's meaning away.

"I slept great. It's fun having the person you've been dreaming about right at your side. How about you? Did you sleep alright?"

"Better than alright, you're here," I say, trying to be just as bold as her. I began to shuffle my legs, getting ready to get up but Y/n's right leg swings over my body. She moves atop of me and hugs me, laying her head across my chest. She was straddling me but she looked so calm. But I knew she wasn't. There was no way someone could be so calm when they do something like that.

"5 more minutes, Clay," she said, her voice sweet. I like it when she says my name.

"Fine, whatever the girl wants," I say, a satisfied humm coming out on her end. She snuggled into my chest and I chuckle. It tickled slightly, her warm skin grazing the cold touch of my open, shirtless chest. What did happen to my shirt? I know I sometimes take it off through the night but why was my body comfortable with that when I'm with Y/n. 5 minutes pass and she squeezes me into a tighter hug.

"Not yet, I like cuddling you."

"Let's go make breakfast together. There's something I have to get today," I say, stretching and lifting her off me.

"Can I come with you?" She looks excited but she can't come. It's a surprise for her.

"Sorry but I've got to get it myself. It's a surprise."

"Okay," she says, leaping from her bed to the door. "Race you to the kitchen!"

"You got a headstart, no fair!"

"This is just real-life speedrun! If you can cheat in that I can get a headstart here!" I run after her, tickling her as I catch up. We begin a tickle fight, laughing at each other as we move towards the living room. I tickle her just above the couch and she falls over, me on top of her. I pinned her...

We make eye contact, both of us aware of our position. She smirks a bit, looking from my eyes to my lips. I bring myself closer to her face, only a few inches apart. So close yet so far. She leaned herself upward and grabbed my neck, pulling me to her until our noses rested on each other. Our lips, only an inch or so apart, restrained.

I moved off her after a moment, bringing my hand to hers. I walked to the kitchen, dragging her with me, to the fridge. An untouched package of cookie dough sat angled to the right of the almond milk. I grabbed the bag quickly and set it on the counter, a smile forming on my face. She grabbed cookie pans from the drawer under her oven, spraying them with baking spray. 10 AM and we were making cookies, a dream come true even though I never thought about it before. She began to play music and put her hair into a messy bun, the bangs that fell out of it framing her face. Her loose tee was perfect, everything about her was perfect.

"What're you looking at?" She asked, waving her hand in front of my face.

"Oh, nothing. Just the most perfect person to exist." A light blush covered her cheeks and she turned away, going back to putting the sugar cookie dough on the pan. The song Lowlife came on and she began singing and dancing as she finished the cookies. She placed them in the oven, continuing to sing. I watched as she smiled and danced. She came up to me and grabbed my hands. She began to slow dance, the next song coming on being Merry Go Round of Life from Howl's Moving Castle.

We danced and she laughed, her smile lighting up the room as light could never. She giggled every time she misstepped, unknowing that I loved her way of dancing. She held my hands, guiding my movements from how she held them. She was focused on the memory that would be created, not the way it was done. She extended her arms out and brought herself back in, pulling into my chest. She soon left, continuing the waltz-like a professional. I admired her, for many reasons, but this was a great experience like no other.

I've known Y/n for only a few months but, in the short amount of time, we've connected like none other. I've never been this confident with myself, or this happy to be honest. I talk to her and I'm on cloud 9, feeling the best in the world. I feel lucky to have her and I just want to be the man to appreciate her. I am in love with her, no doubt. George and Sapnap both know this is true, they've never seen me this way. Not even with my ex.

The song ended and she buried herself into my chest, holding me close to her, or rather herself close to me. The timer for the cookies went off and she took them out of the oven, placing them on the oven to cool. She grabbed frosting from the fridge and sprinkles from the top of the left-most cabinet. She stood next to me, leaning onto my side.

We began to decorate the cookies when I felt something cold hit my nose. I quickly turn to see Y/n smiling at me, frosting coating her finger. I dip my finger into the frosting container and go for the attack, pressing my finger on her nose. She goes back to her frosting redipping her finger as I redip mine.

"Clay, I was just messing!" She yells while giggling, still trying to smear more frosting on me. I get some on her cheek and eyebrow, running away from her around the kitchen island. She chases, soon cornering me and getting frosting everywhere on me.

"I've got to shower before I go out now!" I say laughing, going back to our somewhat finished cookies and beginning to sprinkle them. I walk to her room and open my suitcase, grabbing my clothes for today and going to the bathroom, where she previously showed me where I can put my toiletries. I hop in the shower, wash the frosting out of my hair, and get dressed. I say goodbye to Y/n and run to find a taxi. The jewelers close in 30 minutes so I had to be quick. It was just a pickup.

I wave to the road, a taxi stopping quickly and taking me to my place, which happened to only be a few minutes away. I looked out, memorizing where I'd be going. No need to waste money on a taxi when I can walk. I get dropped off, run into the shop and grab my package. I leave a $30 tip, hefty for the amount of cash I have on me. I begin my walk and look inside. Exactly like I requested, perfect. I begin the walk and see a garbage can. I take out the box and slip it into my pocket, throwing away the bag it came in. I continue the walk in silence, listening to the noises of the bustling city around me.

"Dude, we come here all the time. You two probably didn't meet Nightmare. You're violating her boundaries by staying here anyway." I turn my head to see a group of three teen girls by a small market. One was a brunette and the other two blondes. The brunette kept talking about how someone violated Nightmare's boundaries. Are those the girls that tried to 'expose' Nightmare?

"Yeah, but we know it's her! She mentioned a Tessa, too! She'll eventually be back, we know it," I hear one of the blondes say, the other humming in agreement. I continue walking and ignore it. I'll draw attention to myself. "Besides, what if she brings Dream here? He's in Seattle, you know?" I walk faster, my anxiety beginning to rise. The brunette continues yelling at them and soon, I'm out of distance. I walk through the apartment building and quickly go to her room, knocking.

She opens the door smiling, hugging me as I walk in. I look to the stover where she has cooked lunch/dinner and to the clock. I was out for an hour, and it's 3 PM now.

"So, what'd you get?"

"It's a surprise, Y/n," I say laughing as she hugs me tighter. I quickly go onto my phone and look into the museum nearby, seeing it's exhibit still open. I've got 5 days left in Seattle, I've got to make it count. I look to her food, shrimp scampi, with a bottle of white wine open on the side.

"I made it authentic. I'm not a chef but-" she looks tense, nervous almost.

"It looks great, don't worry about it. Thank you, for everything. I'll clean the dishes afterwards," I say, grabbing her a plate from the cabinet. We begin to eat and let me tell you, this food is amazing. It tasted better than the restaurants. We finished up and I kept on my promise, cleaning the dishes while singing and dancing to music just like she was this morning. Once everything was put away, she grabbed the wine and we went back to her room, taking sips occasionally while we watched Nick's stream.

"You should call him," Y/n suggests, a smile spreading across her face. I grab my phone from her nightstand and call, watching as he picks it up on his facecam.

"What asshole. You left me for some girl in a lame ass city," he says, stifling a laugh.

"We're watching your stream together. Just wanted to say that we say hi," I say, Y/n and I looking to each other grinning.

"Yeah and I bet you're cuddling right now while you watch. Continue to make me feel lonely while I don't have Karl, I dare you."

"Well, actually," Y/n says in the background.

"Y/n, what the hell!" I yell, a wheeze starting.

"Ayo? What did she say? Chat, clip that. Caught in 4k." I hang up the call quickly to see her laughing to my side, a wide smile greeting me. She calmed down and buried her head back into my chest, just as it was yesterday. I don't want to leave her side. I want to stay in Seattle forever if that's where she will be. I soon drift, even though it's only 6 PM, falling into what feels like a dream, in her arms.
