Chapter  |  Breakfast at Noon

Part  |  Two

There was nothing anybody could say or do to make me change my mind about John's cheeseburgers. Who knew a simple little cheeseburger could taste so good? I was obviously coming over here more often for dinner. I bet I looked like a slob sitting here with ketchup on the corner of my mouth and mustard on my bottom lip. The burger was so good I made him make me two more for now and later on at home.

I moaned at how delicious the burger tasted before sucking ketchup off my finger. "That was amazing; you should cook for me more often you know?"

He smirked and shook his head before standing up from the bed. He took my plate and placed a kiss on my cheek where the ketchup was sitting. "You had something there," he said, licking his lips and exiting the room.

I giggled before standing up from the bed and heading into the bathroom. The bathroom was nothing compared to the bedroom. Everything here looks so expensive and new.

After stripping out of the button down shirt and boxers that John had lent me, I opened the door to the shower and tried to figure out how to turn it on. It took me a quick minute to get it on and on the right temperature before I stepped in.

As I stood there I couldn't help but smile at the thought of having John in here with me. He would wash my hair, my body, kiss my lips. I wanted that. I wanted it so bad but I have always forced intimate thoughts to the back of my mind. Just like now. I forced, no, shoved the thought all the way to the back of my mind until it was no longer there. I have only had a few intimate thoughts that included John and Joshua and each time I tried to forget them, I tried to forget that I had actually thought of something so...weird. It was a weird thing because I wasn't married yet. It was weird to think about getting intimate with your partner when you know something could go wrong and end up not being the one you marry.

Suddenly a knock on the door interrupted my thinking and before I could even call back some type of response, through the foggy glass door I could barely make out John walking into the room with something in his arms. "I brought you a change of clothes don't mind me," he called over the running water.

I hadn't got the chance to even say something back before he was gone. I sighed before turning off the water and stepping out. I wrapped a white fluffy towel around my face and hair before taking a step in front of the mirror. I stared at my reflection with wide eyes hoping that my blonde hair would turn itself into thick brown locks. I waited for anything, but nothing happened.

Shaking my head I turned away from the mirror and began putting on the clothes John had gotten for me. It was a pair of red boxers, gray sweatpants, and an oversized green T-Shirt with the words VS North on it. After slipping everything on but the shirt I look down at my bra and the T-shirt. I didn't want to put it back on so I just slipped the shirt over my head and walked out into the bedroom. I found John lying down on the bed with one hand underneath his head while the other hand held a book.

"What are you reading?" I ask as I take a seat next to him. I look over at him with and notice how engrossed he was.

After a few seconds he turns toward me as if he was trying to finish the paragraph he was on before giving me his undivided attention. "It's a book about business. You probably wouldn't understand."

I raise an eyebrow. "What makes you say that?"

He smirks and shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know you just don't look like you'll be interested."

I smile. "You're right, I wouldn't."

He closes his book and sets it down on the nightstand before turning over on his side to look at me. "What are you majoring in anyways?"

"Broadcast journalism. I have always wanted be a news anchor."

He chuckles but is suddenly interrupted by the sound of his phone ringing. He reaches for his phone sitting on the night stand and answers with a hello. He's on the phone with whoever it is on the other line for a few seconds before he holds the phone out for me to take. I look down at it with a confused expression before taking it and putting it to my ear. "Hello?"

"I knew you were with John! So did you two finally have sex? If so on a scale from one to ten how good was it? Was he big? How big? What positions were you guys in? How sweaty was he when you two finished? How many times did he make you or-"

My eyes widen. "Tanya please shut up and do not finish that sentence. What are you calling for anyways, and why did you call John's phone?"

"You are no fun. Anyways, what I called to tell you was your parents want you to call them because they have tried getting hold of you for quite some time now but you're too damn busy getting and giving head to answer any of our calls," she says casually.

I look over at John and notice the amusement on his face. He could probably hear her through the phone. I groaned in annoyance. "Okay, okay I'll call them, thanks for the message."

"You are welcome, and when are you coming home. You should really stop by the store before you come home. I swear our refrigerator looks like the Sahara all deserted and---"

I hang up before she even gets the chance to finish her sentence. I hold John's phone out for him to take but he doesn't. He's just lying there looking at me with a knowing smile. I roll my eyes before throwing it down on the bed and getting up.

"So you gave me---"

"Oh shut up and just drive me to the store."
