Narrator POV:

Y/N was walking through the woods when the three kids followed her. They called and she turned around, the wind blowing her soft hair forward to block her view.

"We've been looking for you Princess where have you been!?" Hantes asked.

"Ah I just needed some air! Don't worry. "  Y/N sat on the greenish grass and patted the space beside her as a gesture for the kids to sit along. Which they obeingly did, yet skeptical.

"Say guys. What if........ I never was here........"  She suddenly started and the kids tilted their heads in confusion.

"I... I have always wondered you know! What if I never came here!? What if the sea never brought me here and I never lived with all of you!? What would life's been like if I never showed up !? I.....I often ask myself.......... What was the purpose of my sudden arrival onto your lives!? Why did I have to end up here!? Is it destiney? Or a mere coincidence?"  Y/N blabbered, her gaze not leaving the cloudy sky above her.

Quietude suddenly filled the air. Upon not hearing a response, Y/N turned her gaze towards the kids. She got surprised to see them staring at her like she is a piece of an unsolvable puzzle.

"Big sis, Are you sick !??" Poka asked, stretching her little hand to Y/N's front head, checking for any probable fever.

"No I m not sick.. Sorry forget what I just said....." She awkwardly waved off.

"I........." Akay spoke up, "I don't think...... our lives would have been...... this happy with...without y....you....Princess......." Y/N stared at him for a while intimidating his already flustered self,  before she warmly smiles, "Thank you Akay. "  And the latter blushed and shyly nodded.

"We should go back now, I don't want to worry everyone. Let's head back children." Once the small group reached the tribe, a man approached them, "Princess. The straw hat pirates are leaving, we were looking for you to send them off."  He said.

Y/N was agape for a while before she entered the chief wigwam. Abnaki who was laying down on a thatch roof, got up and followed her.

"Grandpa I......"She stopped midway.

Beside the chief and the Shaman,  the entire crew was there.

"Oh Y/N what took you so long! Hurry up we are leaving!" Luffy uttered.

"We need to bid you farwell princess," Robin added.

"What do you mean farwell! She is coming with us."  The captain dusted his straw hat nonchalantly.

"WHAT!!?" Yelled everyone.

Y/N looked really uneasy, receiving different stares of shock and  bewilderment.

"Right Y/N!" The captain smiled yet again.

"What are you talking about you idiot, have you gone mad!?" The prince pointed his finger.

"I'd like everyone to get out for a minute.  We need to talk Y/N" The chief suddenly spoke up.   Luffy nodded and left with his friends. Abnaki gave one last suspicious look at Y/N and stomped out. Y/N stepped forward in front of the chief and Shaman and sat down, "Earlier this afternoon, Luffy asked me to join his crew........."  She said looking dismayed.

"At first I thought he was joking but then he seemed very serious about it. He said that he needs someone like me to achieve his dream."  She took a small glance upward and saw the seriousness setting upon her parents-like features. She fidgeted under their gaze and continued, "I.....I don't know why he needs someone like me! I have dangerous powers that I can't even control.......,but I don't know.....hearing him say that......kind of......made me really happy !?"  Y/N played with her hair.

"And you want to go with him just to help him?"  Said the Chief.

"Y/N don't tell me you feel in debt for them saving us an......." The Shaman was interrupted by Y/N determined tone.

"NOT JUST THAT!"She lowered her gaze, holding back her threatening tears, "Luffy said that he knows my brother........ He knows ME ! I.....I might regain my memories back if I stick with him......Maybe...... Maybe I ll even meet my brother again..."  Her tears fell at last but she was quick to wipe them away.

"If you have your own personal goal then it's fine."  The chief smiled.

"Grandpa........."

"She didn't say she wants to go yet did she!" The Shaman sternly spoke.

"Y/N, how about YOUR dream?" She asked.

The princess was surprised by the sudden question.  She solemnly replied. "I....... I don't have such a thing......!"

"I heard that those pirates are determined people with high ambitions and various dreams. You don't fit there now do you Y/N! Since you lived here you never mentioned anything about your dream. You have a goal yes but how about a purpose in life!?" Abey yet again uttered,  her face devoid of any emotion.

"That's not right!"  The princess exclaimed.

"I have always had the goal to regain my memories. It's the first thing I want to do and maybe.... Maybe once I do that I ll remember my old dream.......Or at least I ll be able to make one...... I m sure Luffy and the others will help me out...... I don't have a dream now or maybe I had but forgot it, in any case........ I will find it.....It's a journey for me to find my dream. "  Y/N relaxed her muscles.

"I am proud of you my child,"  Smiled the chief.

"Father! You are too easy!!!"  Abey frowned.

"Y/N!" She addressed the princess again, "If so then, why don't you say it!!?? Say that YOU WANT to go with them"

"I.....Emm..... I just......I really want to......"

"Stop rambling now!!!" Abey reprimanded.

"I WANT TO GO."  Y/N finally stated.

Abey sighed, "It's not going to be an easy journey princess.... You are a princess here but out there you are a normal human....no, even worse you will be a pirate. Other pirates will fight you, bounty hunters will seek you, and you will be a wanted criminal targeted by the Marines........" She continued, "Your powers aren't just uncontrollable but wanted as well. Plus, you might even hurt the same crew you will be with or even your brother once you see him we'll never know........"

"You've been in this island for most of what you lived so far. Although our island is.... Well....weird in itself, please bear in mind that the world is a big planet, and is extremely dangerous." The Shaman added, "You might face horrible situations, see people die and suffer, starve or get severely sick and even lose close people to you and sometimes it is beyind your capacity."

"Yet still........Y/N princess........Do you still want to go!?" The Shaman finally breathed out. Yes, the Shaman knows better about the outside world. She knows better about the Pirates life..... After all, this is how she lost her husband. The supposedly future chief of the tribe. He got obsessed with all the tales and adventures the visiting pirates told and wanted to experience them. Abnaki was 7 back then and did not want him to leave them. But despite his son's cries, his wife's pleads, and his father's protests..... He did left.....Only to come back two years after severely injured, holding within him a deadly sickness that took his life at last. He told his wife of the horrors the sea hides in its blue and serene waves. This is why Abnaki hated pirates and this is why the Shaman is not willing to lose a dear daughter. The princess knows that as well......She sat silently, her Shaman's words crowding her mind.

"Yes Abey.  I still want to go."  She smiled at last, "I don't like to say it but I m not a person from here in the first place. If it wasnt for the incident that brought me here I might have lived very differently. even my bother is seemingly a pirate! I think it's my fate to challenge the sea and live in a ship I guess."  She laughed, "Also.....I believe people can overcome any hardships if they are together. Luffy and the rest will help me out."

A moment of silence passed before the Chief utters, "That's my beloved princess. Life is never a comfortable bed but a hard ground for everyone. While living problems will arise and while you live you overcome them."  He wisely uttered with a calm voice.

"You never really know what life has in store for you Y/N" The Shaman whispered, "Just know that whatever path you make we are here to support you. And whatever problem rises your way, you can always come seeking help and comfort. You are like my beloved daughter child, you are part of us, you will always have a place among us. do not forget that Y/N"  Words softly left her lips as her eyes glistened. Y/N on the other hand already gave up and became a crying mess, hugging her beloved family.

"Easy easy child, you still have a hot tempered prince to convince."  The chief chuckled.

After some wild weeping, Y/N, with puffy eyes got out to prepare herself.

"Princess !! Are you really leaving !?" Little Poka hugged her when she came out of the teppee.

"Don't go no!" Hantes joined. Not just the kids, the people started whispering as well and asking their princess to stay.

"No she is not leaving anywhere!"
The prince's voice echoed through the woods. He approached Y/N in a flaming gaze, sending shivers down her spine.

As he was inching closer, a slim figure blocked his way, "It's not your call it's hers."  Luffy stood in between, mirroring the glare sent to him and without a warning fists started flying.

"Oh my God stop it you two!"  Y/N tried to reason. Both men launched at each other with grudgy punches. Y/N wanted to intervene before Zoro stops her. "It's a men's fight don't interrupt them."

"Not when I m the subject." The latter sternly replied. She then focused her gaze on the two dumbheads and they instantly froze, "I said stop it."

"First of all, grow up you two. You've been acting childishly since you met. Prince Abnaki, you have no right to interfere in my decisions and you Ccaptain, would be more appreciated if you used your brain rather than your fists for once!"  She inhaled and exhaled evenly before closing her eyes to release them.

"Wow so there is a peaceful way to stop two guys' fight without whooping them on the head."  Nami observed and Usopp retorted, "OF COURSE THERE IS!"

"We would all love your company princess!"  Robin smiled with Usopp and Choper nodding in approval.

"Please, just call me Y/N from now on." She sighed.

"Are you sure about this Y/N!!?  Living with these dorks will try the patience of a saint! "  Nami crossed her arms while Y/N giggled, "Alright let me just pack my things I won't take long."  Y/N turned her back, leaving.

"Y/N!!" Abnaki suddenly shouted, stopping the girl in her tracks, "You damn well know why I m opposing your departure. You know what happened the last time one of us tried to sail in the Pirates world."

"I know Naki.......but I was not one of you before, I.... I want to see the world I came from. "  Y/N said with teary eyes when Abnaki hugged her tightly, "You are always one of us. The past does not matter to me! You have everything you need here! Why do you want to go back!?" He bitterly stated holding back his tears. Abnaki grew up with her, he was always older and felt the urge to protect her. She was always his little sister whom he spoiled way too much. The idea of her seeking her former brother and wanting to go back to her older family with these new friends to her old life and origins, even if true, he can't help but let it break his heart.

Y/N returned the warm hug and weeped in his shoulder. Abnaki has always been the closest person to her heart and he will forever be, "You dummy! It' not like I am leaving forever! It's just a journey! I will always comeback home! This is my home! You are my home." She smiled warmily as the prince wiped her hot teared cheeks. He cannot stop her now! He indeed has no right! As much as it pains him he cannot stop her from finding out her truth. He nodded and looked away to supress his tears. Y/N gave him one more look before leaving to her teepee to prepare. She got inside and shed warm tears as she was packing some clothes and trinkets. Once she was done, she styled her hair in braided pigtails and changed her outfit.

Everyone was outside waiting for her.......Well Luffy was basically whining.

"Y/N!  Just bring a straw hat and get out already!"  He yelled.

"Shut up you idiot! You are damaging my ear!! AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE A STRAW HAT!"  Nami knocked the shit out of her captain.

"Sorry everyone!  I m ready"  Y/N finally got out.

"Y/N!"  The Shaman approached Y/N holding a jar of paint and a feather.

"May the spirits protect you daughter."  She applied the red and white paint strips to Y/N face while chanting a mantra. The Shaman then held the eagle feather to the Chieftain, who in turn put it on Y/N's headdress, close to the older feather, "You protected your home and helped your people. You are a brave warrior Y/N.  Take care of your feathers. They will always lead you back home." Y/N couldn't hold in all the pride and joy inside her.  She bursted into tears yet again upon the loving gestures and words she was receiving. All the tribe people then joined, blessing the princess and wishing her good luck. Among all the chatter, the prince appeared again through the bushes.

"What!  You leave before seeing me!" He crossed his arms.

"Naki we already talked"

"I don't want you to read this the wrong way pirates! I want Y/N to find her brother and regain her memories. Once she does that I'll come and take her back. She belongs here not with you" He glared. The prince then held his musket in front of her, "Here you will need this."

"Then take my Boomerang too!" Hantes and the kids joined, their faces full or tears and snot.

"Awwww thank you little ones" Y/N hugged them then turned to Abnaki, "Thank you Abnaki. For everything."  She smiled, feeling him embracing her figure, "Don't take too long."

"I will always belong here.... With everyone. "  She released the hug and wiped off her salty tears.

She took one last glance at her family before she grabs the hand Nami held for her.
