Colby's POV

I heard muffled grunting and screaming through the door.

Ronnie.

No,

"Get back!" I shout to Sam.

He steps back and listens.

I probably look terrifying right now but I didn't care.

Ronnie was inside that car.

And I will do whatever it takes to have her back in my arms.

I take a deep breath, getting ready to embrace the pain I was about to feel.

I held my elbow up high and plummeted it into the pitch black glass.

It shattered into a million pieces and I look inside.

I felt sick.

Lucas hunched over on top of her.

Ronnie was crying and clawing at the car seats.

An inhuman rage took over me.

I have never felt anything like this in my entire life.

It felt as though a thousand fires had been lit inside me and was burning my lungs.

I stretching through the broken window and grabbed Lucas.

Ripping him off of her.

He shouted and she screamed.

I could see the shards of glass left cutting his skin.

Piercing his bare thighs.

I tried to ignore the fact that he was not fully clothed and neither was Ronnie.

All I could focus on was hurting him.

I smacked his worthless body onto the hard concrete,

"What the hell?" He groaned and coughed,

"I told you to stay the fuck away!" I shouted right in his face as I grabbed his neck.

I didn't care if I was arrested.

I didn't care if I killed him.

He hurt Ronnie.

My girl.

I placed both of my hands at each side of his head and forced the back of his head to collide with the pavement.

My fist now repeatedly hitting his face.

His body now limp as I batter it black and blue.

I stopped and stood up.

Deep breaths.

I spat on him as the scum he is.

I turn around with adrenalin still pulsing through my veins.

I focus my attention onto the broken window and to the interior were Sam lay with Ronnie.

Trying to calm her down.

She looked so fragile.

I felt heartbroken to see someone so strong to just shatter.

I didn't know what to do.

She wouldn't let Sam touch her which was obvious as she was pushing him away.

Sam got up out of the car and crouched down against the car, sighing deeply.

I fully opened the door and sat down gently, trying not to frighten her even more.

She was my girlfriend.

The one I loved and I was terrified she would break if I let my hands connect with her skin.

Her bruised skin.

A single tear fell down my cheek as I tried to hug her.

But she screamed and told me to get back.

This was all my fault,

"Veronica, baby please" I whispered as I let more tears spill over,

"Don't touch me" she said.

She didn't show any emotion.

Nothing at all.

And it shattered me.

My girl who was always smiling had lost her smile.
