One More Mistake
Chapter twenty-six

❱ The sun's rays were coming down by the peeks of the long trees making everything seem darker than it usually was. Though a a large portion of the suns ray was flashing down at him making him look beautiful under the sun.

I couldn't bring myself to go up to Caine, he was less than five feet away though I've felt like he was miles away. His lips were plumed and glistening caused by the sun shining down at him. His eyelids were covering his beautiful eyes, those eyes that seem to catch my attention all the time. Those eyes that make me feel better and safe.

Caine made me feel loved when I thought no one did, Caine made me feel accepted even when no accepted me.

He was my person and I was his.

I took a step closer to him, almost afraid.

He was wearing his favorite shirt, a diamond necklace wrapped around his neck and sitting on top of the baby blue shirt. That was the necklace I gave him when he turned seventeen, he loved it or he only said that to make me feel better.

I took another step closer to him.

His hands were in front of him, intertwined.

"I love you" I whispered.

I needed him to hear those three words because they were only meant for him.

I reached out to touch him but stopped midway before looking away from him.

I can't do this, how could I? Caine was laying there, with nothing left just his body.

It wasn't until then I realized what was happening.

My eyes landed back at him and continued to reach out to touch him but frozen when I felt his face.

It wasn't warm like it usually was, it was cold. Caine was never cold.

This wasn't Caine at all. He couldn't be because right now he would've opened his eyes and told me it was a joke. His bright eyes would be smiling at me though they weren't opening and smiling at me.

His eyes were shut and his lips were in a thin line.

I gripped his shoulders before shaking him.

Wake up.

Wake up.

Wake up!

"Thea!" when I opened my eyes, I was met with sad brown eyes.

"Are you okay? You were crying" I haven't noticed the tears on my face until Marie wiped them away with her soft hands.

"I'm okay" I whispered before moving away from her touch.

"How's Caine doing? Is he still resting?" Marie was taking back by my coldness though she didn't mention anything about it.

"I just got back from seeing him, if you want you can go visit him" I didn't waste a second before making my way towards his room but as I was making my way towards his room I caught sight of a familiar face.

Kace stood by the elevator, his eyes staring down at the floor while fidgeting.

I haven't realized what time it was until now, the sun was just about to make an appearance. I felt bad for not letting Kace know what was happening but he could wait, I needed to get to Caine first.

I walked the other direction before finally seeing Caine's room. I practically ran towards it before opening it.

I couldn't help but smile when I've locked eyes with Caine.

"I'm not sure if I should be mad at you or annoyed by the way your tearing up?" I chuckled before running towards him and wrapping my arms around him, so tightly like he might disappear.

"I thought I'll would never be able to see you again" I sounded so pathetic but I couldn't care less. Caine was in front of me with a beautiful smile plastered on his lips and his eyes staring at me with such love.

How could I care? The only person I care about is sitting right in front of me. What more could I want?

"That'll be impossible, you're stuck with me forever" I couldn't stop smiling, I was so damn happy and nothing could ever change that.

"And you're stuck with me, loser" I said back, laughing when he rolled his eyes. He was mocking me but right now I didn't care.

He was here and I couldn't have been more grateful.

i'm so sorry for the short, short, short chapter but i've been so busy lately and i haven't had time to write. i know i suck but i'll try my best.
