I quickly get into the shower, washing my hair and my body thoroughly before picking out an outfit. Nick was being a stubborn bitch so I didn't know where we going or what he was planning on doing so I stuck with something casual but nice.

I pulled out a pair of ripped, light-wash jeans and used a belt to hold them in place. I've shrunk out of most of my clothes so you just gotta make do. I paired it with a cropped grey tee with a smiley on it and threw on a hoodie. I was putting on a pair of vans when I heard aggressive knocking on my front door.

"Just give me a second Nick!" I said, looking over at my clock to see that it had been exactly 30 minutes since our phone call; like on the dot. Nick eventually stopped, probably realising it wouldn't do anything to make me move faster. I grabbed my phone off charge before jogging down the stairs and opening the door, taking in Nick's outfit to find I got the vibe of our outing right. He was dressed casually too, with grey sweatpants and a white shirt I could see peaking underneath his black hoodie.

"Ready?" He questioned

"Not at all, considering you won't tell me where we're going," I said poking him in the chest dramatically. He just rolled his eyes and walked to his car, opening the door for me. I quietly thanked him before he went around to the driver's side and started up the car. He seemed to know where we were going as he didn't have a GPS on that I could get a sneak peek at.

Pretty soon we rocked up to what seemed to be one of those temporary amusement parks, with rides that had been hired and all kinds of bright colours coming into my vision. This would be so beautiful when it gets dark.

"Welcome." He said gesturing in front of us before hopping out of the car. I was shocked, I would've never pictured Mr Bad Boy taking me to an amusement park. I didn't even notice when he was beside me, the car door wide open and him holding his hand with a cocky smirk on his face. I took his hand and pulled myself out of his car with him closing the door behind me.

I thanked him before he started jogging up to the stall where you buy tickets, his hand in mine dragging me along with him. I would've protested if I had the energy, my legs feeling like they'd fail because of my run today but seeing the spark in his eyes made me keep my mouth shut. He handed me a ticket before I could even protest about him paying.

"So what do you want to do first." He asked me. My eyes skimmed across the park and all it had to offer; games to win things from, giant rides, a slide race thing, but the one thing that caught my eye;

"Bumper cars." I said excitedly pointing to the ring that promised me a good time. Nick nodded his head and grabbed my hand, lacing his fingers with mine before dragging me in the direction I had pointed in. It was hard to keep up with him, he was walking so damn fast and my legs were next to jello, I was exhausted. Still, I tried to keep the smile on my face looking as pure as possible and hide the painful expression when I'd move too much.

When we reached the rink we got into cars facing each other from opposite sides of the rink and buckled our seatbelts on. The was a whistle signalling that we could go and I pushed my pedal to the floor, heading straight for Nick. I don't have a licence, so Nick had an advantage. Actually no, it was because he had a license that he was disadvantaged. On the road, you have to be cautious and considerate so he was used to that in a vehicle, not a fight to the death. We soon collided head-on, and I immediately switched my foot to the other pedal to reverse. Nick looked to be doing the same when a girl, looking no older than 11, bumped into him from behind sending him back towards my car. I quickly swirled the wheel and sharply turned to the left, leaving Nick to go flying into the wall. Sometime later and the whistle was blown again, signalling our time was up. All in all, I kicked Nick's ass. Even with sore legs.

We walked around a bit and rode some of the rides. The last time I had been to an amusement park was when I was 11, and I was too much of a pussy to go on any 'scary' rides, so there was a lot of new experiences for me tonight. We had finished all the rides when I noticed the sun setting, with Nick speaking up.

"Alright, so do you wanna get dinner, or just skip to dessert?" He asked pointing to the ice cream van parked in the distance. Knowing that we were at an amusement park, all the food would be greasy and way too high in calories, so I stuck with the ice cream.

"Dessert," I said firmly and he started walking towards the van, with me trying to keep up with him and failing. With my slow walking and the sea of people surrounding us, I was pushed behind, only just barely being able to see the top of Nick's head peaking from the top of the crowd, with him being taller than just about everyone. I watched as he got farther away at a faster pace, and I put all my strength into squeezing past people, muttering an 'excuse me' every time I pass someone new.

TRIGGERING CONTENT?

-----------------------------------

It seemed to be working beside the fact I was getting shoved around, until someone pulled me from my waist, their arms locking around me. I tensed up, locking eyes with the back of Nick's head.

"You're a pretty little thing, aren't you?" I heard someone say quietly next to my ear, sending a sickening shiver down my back. I did not enjoy this one bit, a strangers hand around my waist, invading my personal space. I tried to wriggle free but my lack of energy was overpowering and I had no strength in my body.
"You caught a nice one there" I hear a second voice speak. "Care to share with a bro, Sam?" They asked.

"30 bucks." the so-called 'Sam' guy offered as if I was some prize. This is ridiculous, no one's buying me.

"No one's buying me," I said. "So get your arms off me!" I said whilst stomping my shoe on his and turning around to knee him in the balls.

"Ooo a feisty little bitch I see. Get going then, puppy, we'll see you around soon." He said leaning over and groaning before reaching up to grab my hair, tugging on it to pull my face directly up to his, wrapping his hand around my throat and applying pressure.

"I promise." He said, a sickly smirk settling on his features and his friend looking just as disgusting. He dropped his hand from my neck and immediately walked away coughing with a stinging skull and tears in my eyes, speed walking to the ice cream van.

Luckily Nick was easy to spot, literally standing out from the crowd with his height. He was leaning on a lamppost, his eyes scanning the crowd and he relaxed when his eyes found mine, but almost immediately tensed up again after looking at me more. I watched his eyes flick across my face, before trailing down to my neck. He took determined steps towards me with his jaw tensed before he stopped in front of me.

"What happened?" He whispered while bringing his hand to rest ever so lightly on the side of my neck, his fingers brushing over where I was being held a minute ago. I shut my eyes at the memory. There must be a mark or something to make Nick notice because I don't think this is a coincidence.

TW OVER

"Nothing, it's fine. I'm fine." I rushed out, pulling his hand off my neck. He tore his eyes away from my neck to meet mine and I blinked rapidly to push the tears away. "Let's get some ice cream then we can play some games, yeah?" I proposed. He swallowed harshly before nodding, pushing me in front of him with his hand resting on the small on my back. I slightly tensed at the contact, looking over my shoulder to make sure it was Nick before relaxing slightly. He wouldn't hurt me like that, I was safe with him.

I ordered a rainbow singe scoop cone whilst Nick got a chocolate double scoop. Nick paid and we were given our ice cream. It was a warm night, but not overly hot, about 20 degrees (68 Fahrenheit). I licked my ice cream, bringing back memories of my childhood. I always loved rainbow ice cream as a kid, I haven't had it in years. It's just as good as I remember it being. I felt eyes on me and look over to see Nick looking at me, taking a lick of his ice cream.

"You wanna try mine?" He asked. Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever eaten a chocolate flavoured ice cream, I mean I've had chocolate-coated ice cream but not flavoured. I nodded and he held out the cone for me. This wasn't unusual for us, we always shared ice cream when we were younger cause we could never decide on one flavour.

I dragged my tongue along the ice cream, swirling my tongue once I reached the top, keeping eye contact with him through all of it. What can I say, I enjoy annoying people. He looked away after I swallowed, looking flustered. I held out my ice cream to him without a word, and he mirrored my movements, keeping eye contact with me as he licked it. Motherfucker.

"I can't wait to kick your ass in these games." He said grabbing my free hand with his and dragging me towards the game area of the park.

"You can have fun trying!" I called out to him. Like I said, I'm very competitive. We had one more game left, Nick was fucking winning. Only by like 4 games but still, I wasn't happy about that. The last game was where you had to shoot a water gun into a clowns mouth.

"I'm good at getting things in people's mouths," Nick claimed, getting behind a water gun and getting ready to shoot.

"Jesus Christ," I muttered. And Nick proved to be right, winning the game and setting a high score in the process, winning a giant teddy bear. He held it out to me.

"To make you feel better." He said. I smiled and took it in my hands, it was slightly shorter than me.

"Thank you." I said smiling. I may have lost, but this made it feel a little better. I was right when I thought it would look better at night. It was dark now, the only thing lighting up the sky was the stars and the bright neon lights that surrounded me. I looked around in awe, feeling eyes on me. I turned to find Nick already looking at me with a giant smile on his face, his arms full of stuffed toys he had won from the games, but behind him was the two boys from earlier.

My face dropped as I made eye contact with Sam, him sending me a creepy wave and a wink. I inhaled deeply, feeling frozen in my spot and my throat closing up. Why are they still here? I refocus my gaze back to Nick.

"You ready to go?" he asked, looking around. "It's getting pretty late."

"Yeah, yeah let's go," I said. We both started walking towards the exit and where he parked his car. I looked at the time, seeing it was 10:08 pm. Holy shit we spent the whole day here. There was no way I was going to be able to get home and run.

"Hey, I think I'm gonna walk home," I tell Nick. I really need to burn these calories, and in my time frame; walking home was the only possibility.

"You sure? It's late and my car here's anyway." He said, looking and sounding unsure.

"Yeah, I need the fresh air. Hopefully, it'll make me less stressed." This was good, this was me drifting from Nick.

"Alright then." He agreed, looking reluctant.

"Can you bring all these teddies back to yours though? I don't wanna carry them all the way back." I explained. "Then I can just pick them up when I see you." He agreed and I dumped all the teddies in my hands into the backseat of his Jeep.

"Alright then," I said shutting the car door. "I'm off."

"Okay well stay safe, and I want a call when you get home." He said sternly, engulfing in me a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and put one of my hands in his hair, holding his face where it was pressed in my neck.

"Thank you for tonight Nick it was a lot of fun," I tell him and as much I wanted it to be another lie, it wasn't. That is obviously excluding the encounter I had with those two guys but it's whatever.

"Anytime Jules." he said, muffled by where his face was buried in my neck. We pulled apart and said our goodbyes before I made my way to the sidewalk and began walking home.

(recap of triggering content for those who skipped it)

Jules got lost in the crowd on the way to the ice cream van with Nick and someone pulled her aside to him and his friend, whose name is sam, and they were being really creepy essentially and promised that she would see them again. She went back to Nick who noticed something was up but she brushed it off and said she was fine

Hello! I am so sorry, it's been nearly a month since my last update. With my exams, it was really hard to find any time to write but I'm on summer break now! Chapter updates should be a lot more frequent. Thank you for 15k reads! I never thought I'd have that many people interested in my book and I appreciate every single one of you. This chapter was a bit difficult to write, as I've experienced a similar situation but I feel that there are a lot of topics that need to be voiced that I want to include in my book. Stay safe and make sure to eat and drink something today. Remember to vote and comment <3
