When I returned to the dinner table, I explained that I wasn't feeling too well and I had lost my appetite. My mom bought it, telling me to just sit down and have some water whilst waiting for Nick to finish. However the side glance that Nick gave me was enough to tell me he knew I was lying. Soon enough he finished eating, and he actually ate everything that was on his plate unlike me. I gathered our dishes and made my way into the kitchen and began to clean them.
"Why didn't you eat?" He asked, interrupting the comfortable silence that had fallen between us. I put the plate I was washing, down.
"I told you, I wasn't feeling well." I lied again, looking him dead in the eyes. That's something I've always been good at, looking people in the eye when I lie. It comes in handy in some situations, but unfortunately for me Nick knows me like the back of his hand.
He rolled his eyes, before leaning down and hovering his lips on my neck, feather light, right below my ear. I took in a sharp breath, wondering what the hell he was doing but not complaining.
"We both know that's bullshit." He whispered before pulling away. I rolled my eyes, trying to act like what he just did didn't affect me on any level. Who's horny? Cause I'm definitely not.
I got back to washing my dishes, and he stood next to me with a clean tea towel ready to dry what I washed. This is how we did things before he moved, it's nice to see some things never change.
After we finished up with the dishes we went back up to my room. He took his usual seat on my bed, not hesitating to get comfortable. I looked at the clock on my bedside table, nearly having a heart attack when it reads 7:09PM. I was supposed to go on my run ten minutes ago!
"Hey, I'm really sorry but I'm not feeling too great so i'm gonna take a bath and just relax for the rest of the night. You should probably get going." I told him, trying to go along with my not-feeling-well lie from earlier. He frowned, looking confused for a second..
"I can't join you?" He questioned. I watched as the corners of his lips twitched, he was trying so hard to be serious; and failing.
"Very funny Nick, now seriously please give me some privacy. I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"
"Yeah, yeah. Cya tomorrow Jules." He said whilst literally rolling off of my bed before landing with a thump on the floor. He got up and walked out of the door as if nothing had happened and I just started laughing. I went to my window and watched as he walked out of our street. At least we made some progress, and he doesn't hate me which is good. I go and change into a pair of leggings and a tank top before climbing out my window and starting my run. I start going over everything I ate today, like I normally do. I only had a couple bites of lasagna, which is good. I decide to reward myself by cutting my run shorter tonight. Maybe I'll do 45 minutes, instead of an hour? NO, no I can't do any less than the minimum. If I want to lose weight then I have to push myself. I don't have time for rewards, I only have time for results.
