Ashton froze in fear, not having the courage to turn around and see what lay behind him. He didn't fear seeing something paranormal, for those things only exist in fiction.

However, he very well knew of monsters that exist within the human kind, and a carnivorous serial killer could very well be the one breathing on his trembling shoulder.

"Well you're getting awfully close boy," he hears a voice whisper in his ear. He sees a man with a gas mask rest his head on his shoulder.

"You have the nerve to enter my house and then deny my existence! How dare you!" he hears a more feminine voice say, followed by a high pitch screech that makes everybody clasp their ears tightly.

Everyone also jumps in fear at the return of darkness, making them room return to pitch black.

"Fuck, my phone died," Blaise mutters.

A couple moments of silence pass, everyone refusing to move to the fear that the man is still in here. Niall had previously passed news that the door was locked, and the only thing they could do was stand helplessly and motionless.

"I see some muscle on those nice arms of yours. It seems that you're a strong one, unfortunate for someone so unintellegent. However, you do have some purpose. You'd have an amazing place where I come from," the man cackles in Ashton's ear, and just after the words slide off his tongue, he wraps his arms tightly around Ashton's chest.

"Get your hands off me!" he says angrily, thrashing in the man's grasp.

"I suggest you don't fight me, babyboy," the man whispers, pricking his arm slightly with the tip of the knife.

Everyone is terrified and wanting to help their friend, but a knife makes jumping the mysterious man out of the question. All they can do is hope for the best.

"I'll help you," they hear the hoarse woman voice say, and Ashton suddenly feels a foggy sensation tracing over the man's strong arms. He feels her squeeze the grip, followed by a loud cracking noise that can be heard across the room. The cracking noise starts an intense sharp pain in Ashton's chest, and he can't help but scream out in pain.

"Ashton!" Luke screams, growing unsensible in fear for his best friend. He knows this is the stupidest thing in the world, but the only thing running through his mind right now was that Ashton had to get out. He'd rather they did this to him. So, stupidity was Luke's only resolution to the problem.

He runs out of his current place and jumps into where he remembered Ashton to be, successfully feeling two people falling down with him. He kicks the arms off Ashton, feeling a knife slice through his ankle. He ignores the pain and shoves Ashton towards the others, being pulled in by the man's grasp.

He angrily feels for the man's face and flat hands his nose, as well as kneeing him in the crotch. However, he sees the man glow a little and shake off the pain quickly, shoving Luke to the ground and kneeing ontop of him. Luke could usually shove him off, but he feels something else pushing him so hard against the floor so hard that he worried the floorboards might explode.

Meanwhile, Ashton is sitting in the floor in pain,  haunted by the cracking sound and how much it hurt to breathe. He also remembered the knife, and the fact that Luke was now with those things.

"Get Luke! Gang up while the guy's bent over! Then we could all break the door down!" Ashton tells his friends. Liam, Calum, Michael, and Harry prepare to attack. Rocky attempts to follow them, but Louis holds her back.

"What the hell are you doing? Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't handle this! Let me go or I'll bite your hand!" she snaps.

"I don't want you to get hurt! Just join every body else to break the door!" He says.

"That's my brother, Louis!" she says with sad eyes. He looks up at her with concern.

"Be careful," he says sadly, and Rocky runs up to the man.

"You shouldn't of done that idiot," the gas mask man laughs to Luke, pointing his knife out so that everyone who attacks him would get stabbed. He then turns it to Luke and stabs his stomach, making him scream.

"LUKE!" Rocky screams, but just as she runs up she is pushed by a force and sent sliding on the ground. The others who had been attempting to fight were sent back as well. The woman's voice cackles and a chilling breeze passes them.

They hear four more gushing sounds, followed by Luke's screaming which turns into coughing and sobbing. A lightbulb hanging in the backswitches on, blinking on and off but providing light to the room. The gas mask man and his accomplice are no where to be seen. But everybody sees Luke laying on the floor, choking on his own blood.

Rocky pushes past everybody and slides beside her brother, ignoring the blood puddle under her. Ashton limps to his other side, followed by everybody else. They all were in shock, refusing to accept what was bound to happen.

"Call 911!" Aria cries.

"No phone service!" Blaise replies.

"Why the fuck did you do that?" Ashton asks Luke, beginning to sob.

"What kind of best friend would I be if I let them do that to you?" he cracks out.

"You had more to live for than me, you fucking idiot. I love you," Ashton says.

"Lukey, let's try to get out of here and we will call 911. Don't close your eyes, okay?" Rocky says, trying to stay calm.

"You guys need to get out now, just leave. Get out please," he says, eyes growing hazy.

"I'm sorry," Ashton whispers, and Luke's eyes shut.

"What the fuck did I just tell you, open your damn eyes! Don't do this to us Luke, don't be so selfish. We need you! I need you..." Rocky screams, shaking Luke as hard as she can. But his rugged breaths turn into silence and he falls limp into her chest.

Ashton sobs harder, his face falling into the ground and his entire body shaking. This is followed by a chain of screaming and tightly gripping onto Luke's leg, Michael pulling him off and cradling him, breaking into tears as well.

Everyone is basically in shock, convincing themselves that none of this is real. None of this can be real. One of their best friends in the world can not be the one laying there dead, this has to be some big prank. They knew this stuff happens, but never did they think that it would happen to them. The lights were going to turn on and he was gonna get up laughing, and everyone else would laugh as well. He would laugh at them for the way they looked when they sobbed, and they would leave on a drive to relax them from the havoc.

But none of that was going to happen. He was dead; his soul had evacuated from his damaged corpse. And they would never hear him laugh at them again.

Rocky stares furiously at Luke's face, sad of how distressful he appeared when he should be at peace.  She was in a state of shock, remembering her entire life that she spent with her twin brother. Remembering how nervous he was to come here.

"I'm sorry Lukey, I should've listened to you. I should've remembered that you're so much more sensible than me. This is all my fault, I'm such a fucking idiot! I'm so sorry," she rambles to herself, yanking on her messy hair and squeezing Luke's cold, pale hand.

"I've got the door open, let's go!" Liam yells.

Although she is aware that he is deceased, a part of her feels so wrong leaving without him. But she knows it's nessacary.

"C'mon baby, we can't have anyone else being hurt!" Louis says, lifting her and heading for the exit.

"It's not fair for me to get out, he got murdered because I was trying to prove something irrelevant to the situation! It's only fair if I stay," Ashton cries.

"Do you seriously still not believe in that stuff, did you see that fucking forcefield that blew every body away!" Blaise says, her eyes glued to Luke's body and tears covering her cheeks.

"The only monsters here are human! But is it really time to discuss this?" Ashton replies.

"Hey, I don't know if you didn't notice, but our best friend just died too. And I know it causes your thinking patterns to be off, but Luke wouldn't want you acting like this. Let's go," Michael says, pulling Ashton upwards and helping him to the stair. Ashton decides not to argue, just bury his face in Michael's chest and mentally repay the past scene over and over.

Suddenly, a white fog enters the room and causes everyone to cough.

"Are you fucking kidding me," Calum mumbles, trying to keep himself from bursting in an anger attack.

"Try to hold your breath guys!" Robin says. They hold it for as long as possible, but it doesn't stop them from growing dreary.

They approach the familar red living room, but it's growing harder and harder to carry on.

"Almost there..." Liam says, approaching the front door. His finger softly rests against the door knob before everyone falls unconscious.

A/N:

I hope you used the suggested music bc I was listening to it while I was writing and it helps add affect. Sorry for the chopiness, this chapter was kind of rushed.

Poor Lukey. Lesson of the day, always listen to your gut instinct.
