We arrived at court around eight-thirty just as it opened. Ben took the girls to school so we could find out the judge's decision. Neither of us could sleep at all. We paced back and forth, wondering what was going to happen. Then she showed up - the wicked witch of the North.

Scott and I looked at her. She had a smug look on her face. I couldn't stand her before now I really can't stand her.

"I can't wait until I walk out of here with Georgia. You will never see her again," she spat.

Scott stood there, clinching his jaw and balling his fist. I slid my hand into his and had him look at me.

"Don't. That's what Victoria wants. She wants to prove you don't deserve Georgia. Don't let her provoke you," I told him.

He looked at me and sigh, "It's just the thought of her taking Georgia away from me, angers me. She doesn't want her, but I do."

"I know," I said as I looked at him.

He pulled me to him and wrapped his arms around me as she spewed insults at us. As much as I wanted to beat the shit out of her, I had to refrain myself.

Around nine, the court officer opened the door, and we walked in. Rob and the other attorney followed suit, and they took a seat. I took place in the back.

"All rise," the court officer announced. We all stood as the judge walked out and took his seat at the bench, "Honorable Judge Morrison presiding."

"Sit," the judge ordered.

We sat back down as he opened the file.

"Before I tell my decision, I would like to say something. I've had a lot of time to think about this. Listening to everyone in the courtroom and the things that were said, disheartened me. When we have children, as adults, it's our job to take care of them. Nurture them. As parents, they should come first. It stops becoming about us and starts becoming about them. I had a chance to meet with Kami and Georgia. They are by far the cutest little people I have ever met. I can tell who loves them and who doesn't."

I sat there with bated breath.

"Ms. Sherwood, please approach my bench," the judge said to me. Everyone turned to me as my eyes widened. I stood up and walked over to him, oh god.

"Yes, your honor?"

"I wish more parents were like you and your ex. Kami seems like a delighted little girl."

"Thank you, your honor," I said to him.

"You keep doing what you're doing," he said, smiling at me, whoa.

He dismissed me, and I went to sit back down.

"Now, in the case of Stevens vs. Stevens, I have decided that custody will go to Scott Stevens."

"What?! You can't do that!" Victoria screeched.

The judge looked at her, "Shut up! It is my court, and I will hold you in contempt!"

Vicky immediately shut up.

"I am also granting Mr. Stevens full custody as well as terminating all parental rights of one Victoria Stevens and also signing an order of protection as I feel she is a danger to not only her daughter but to others as well," he said as she signed papers.

"But that's my daughter!"

The judge stopped and looked at her, "Then maybe you should have thought about that before treating her like she was a free ride. Children are human beings. Not to be used as a bargaining chip. You do not deserve to have children. Now shut up and be quiet. Next outburst I'm holding you in contempt!"

"But that's not fair!"

"That's it! You're in contempt!"

I watched as Vicky kept going and the judge kept holding her in contempt. Her attorney kept trying to get her to stop, but she didn't. I wish I had popcorn because this was the most fun I ever had in court.

The judge dismissed us as they hauled Vicky away in handcuffs. Rob and Scott walked towards me, and Scott took my hand as we walked out of court. We talked to Rob outside of the courtroom as Ben walked up.

"What took you so long," Rob asked him.

"The girls decided I needed to see all the drawings they did," he chuckled. Then he looked at us, "So?"

"We won," Scott exclaimed.

"Nice."

"Thanks, Ben," Scott said, holding out his hand. I watched as Ben took it and shaking it. "Thanks for helping with Georgia and for what you did in there."

"No problem, I got lucky with Lina. She could have been nasty, but she wasn't, and for that, I'm grateful. I get to see my daughter whenever," he smiled.

We talked for a few then Rob and Ben left. Scott spun me around, "I think we should celebrate."

"I think you're right," I said as he pulled me into a kiss. Once we finished making out for a bit, we went home. From there, we celebrated.

As soon as we hit the door, things got a bit crazy. Sort of like our first night. Except we weren't drunk. Scott picked me up, and I wrapped my legs around his waist as he carried me upstairs. We didn't even manage to get undressed before he had me pinned against the wall.

I made quick of his belt and the button on his pants as he moved my panties to the side, then before I knew it, he was inside, thrusting away.

We both moaned against each other's lips as he continued then quickly we both exploded together. But it didn't stop there. We went again and again until we both collapsed into the bed.

I laid on his chest as he held me in his arms.

"I was thinking, that maybe we should look into getting a place of our own," he said.

I lifted my head and looked at him, "What?"

"Well, I have the penthouse which I could sell, and this is your home which we could sell. We could buy a house for the kids and us," he suggested.

I looked at Scott. I didn't know what to say.

"It was only a suggestion," he sighed.

"Scott, this is a big step, and it's not something we can just jump into without consulting the kids," I said to him. He looked at me a bit confused.

"What?"

"Well, shouldn't we consult the kids if we're going to uproot them? I mean, I know they are five, but they are pretty smart to understand about living in a new house," I smiled.

"Are you serious?"

"Well, if you don't want to, it's no biggie," I said casually.

He flipped me over and crawled on top of me. He pressed his lips to mine, then said, "You know you are truly amazing, right?"

"Sometimes but not always," I shrugged then grinned. Scott chuckled as he kissed me again.

Moving in together is a big deal as it was. But when you have kids, it's even a bigger deal. It's not just you anymore. It becomes so much more.

We finally got dressed and had lunch. In a few hours, we were going to pick up the kids. Plus, Scott needed to inform the school about Victoria. Rob called and said he would be dropping off the paperwork tomorrow so he can submit it to all the important places.

Victoria had no legal rights to Georgia anymore.

As we ate, he looked at me, "It's weird."

"What is?"

"That one night would lead to this," he said, looking at me.

"Do you regret it?"

"Not in the least, I am happy I went out that night," he smirked.

"Well, I'm thrilled I could remember more after that other time," I smirked back.

"Why's that?"

"Because I prefer to be sober when it happens," I said, getting up and taking my empty plate to the sink. Scott grinned and chuckled.

I remember bits and pieces from that first night, but the next time when I came into my bedroom and found him sitting on my bed, that's when I knew it was worth it.

The thing about Scott is he had all these different facets about him, but deep down, he indeed was a passionate man who loved the people in his life profoundly. I realized that at my parents. Yeah, he had all this money but what he truly wanted was something you can't buy, a family.

That's when I knew I truly loved him. I didn't just fall in love with him, but I also loved him. He made me feel things I never felt before, not even with Ben. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise. All the signs pointed to yes. Was it a coincidence that we kept running into each other? Maybe or possibly we were supposed too.

Whatever the case, I couldn't wait to see what happened next.
