I pulled into the driveway and parked the car. Kami was in the back singing a Spongebob song happily. That kid is never unhappy. Thank god.

I got out and helped her out of the car. She ran up to the door as it opened. Zoe ran out, "Hey Kami."

"Hey Zoe," she greeted her.

"Zara said she's going to help us paint daddy's nails."

"Yay!" I watched them run into the house as Tara came to the door. I walked up to her. She turned and yelled, "you girls leave your father alone! He's taking a nap!"

"Aww mommy," Zoe said.

"No. Go play," she ordered as I couldn't help giggle. She rolled her eyes and sighed, "I swear my children have this infatuation wanting to dress Kelly up."

I couldn't help laughing as we walked into the house. We walked in and she closed the door, Kelly was sleeping on the couch. It was one of the few days he had off since he worked construction.

We walked into the kitchen as Tara was making lunch. I took a seat at the island as she pulled out a couple of glasses and poured us each a sweet tea. I picked up my glass and took a seat.

"How are things," she asked.

"Oh, you know. The same as things always are," I shrugged.

She gave me a look, "Lina, you need to get out and meet someone. Being held up in a house all the time is never good."

"Tara, why bother? My luck, they will tell me they are gay, or just got out of prison or married. Why set me up for disappointment?" I looked at her.

She gave me a look. It was a look I knew all too well. You know the one that says you're going to be that single woman with a lot of cats. That was the one I was getting right now.

"Don't look at me like that," I said to her.

"Like what?" She gave me a look.

"Mmmm, what smells delicious," Kelly said, coming into the kitchen kissing Tara.

"You're favorite, baked chicken and seasoned potatoes," she said.

He reached around her and grabbed a slice of cucumber from the cutting board and popping it in his mouth. She gave him a look, "babe!"

"What, I'm hungry. Plus, later on, you can give me some sweetness," he smirked, as he patted her on the butt.

"Kelly Michael Hunter, you better watch your hands!"

"I can't help it if my sexy wife has a delicious booty," he grinned, causing Tara to turn three shades of red. She snapped a towel at him as he left the kitchen.

She rolled her eyes, "I swear sometimes Kelly can be crazy."

I couldn't help but laugh. I loved to see Tara and Kelly together. They had been married for fifteen years and still act like crazy teenagers in love. It's the kind of love one strives for with someone. Plus, Kelly was an amazing husband and father.

She told me how he kept pursuing her but she was having none of it. She wanted to be treated properly so that's what he did. He courted her.

It wasn't until she turned eighteen that he proposed and they married in a simple ceremony. A year later came Zara and eleven years later came Zoe.

I admired them for sticking it out.

She looked at me, "Lina, you will meet him; just give it time."

"Tara, I'm fine. I'm happy raising Kami. It was something I found out that I don't suck at." I sighed, and Tara just shook her head.

"Lina, you need to realize you just haven't met the right guy yet. But I assure you, you will."

She smiled at me and I gave a slight smile. That was the thing about Tara, even when I doubted myself she managed to reassure me. I could not have asked for a better friend and teacher for Kami.

Lunch was ready, and she called the others into the kitchen. We set the girls in booster seats so they could sit better at the table.

I sat next to Kami while we ate.

"Hey Lina, I have this friend," Kelly started. I knew where this was going. I got a friend. I would like you to meet, and I think you would hit it off, sort of conversation. "I think you would like him." Bingo.

"Oh I don't know Kelly," I said, trying to wiggle my way out of a potential blind date. I don't want to go out with someone I've never met before. I mean what if he's crazy. Yeah, no. I just decided to hear him out.

"Well, he's around thirty, really good at his job, divorced, has one kid, a daughter, and I've been trying to get him to agree to meet you. I think you two would hit it off," he finished with a smile.

God, I really don't want someone trying to set me up. Setups are the worse. I also didn't want to hurt Kelly's feelings since I know for a fact if a guy hurt me he could break him into two. The dude has muscles on him.

"Just think about it," he suggested.

I sighed, "okay, I will think about it." His smile grew, "but no promises."

"That's all I ask."

We finished eating. Why did I ever agree to think about meeting someone? This idea was going to be a disaster. Ugh.
