Kissing under the mistletoe

Niall: “This party is such a drag,” a voice said from beside you. “I know right. It’s more like a funeral,” he started chuckling which made you flip around to face him. His laugh was warm and soulful. “Oh I’m Niall,” he said holding his hand out. “Y/N,” you said. “Your mom dragged you here too?” “Story of my life,” you mumbled under your breath. Your mom had made you come along to her boss’ Christmas party this year. All your friends were going to Logan’s party, it was supposed to be like the biggest party of the year. And of course you were missing it. “We might as well make the most of it right?” “Hard to make anything out of this,” you said looking around at the many middle-aged ladies inhabiting the room. The occasional chit-chat filled almost none of the silence. There was a small orchestra sitting in the corner of the room, playing slow Christmas songs. The food was nothing but caviar and crackers. So much of a Christmas party. “Why don’t we go upstairs? I think there might be a tv up there or something,” he suggested. You shrugged, “Let’s go.” He walked ahead of you, heading towards the colossal spiraling stairs. You stopped, “Wait Niall. I should tell my mom-” Just then, you looked up, noticing something dangling above your heads. He saw it too. Mistletoe. You swallowed. He stared at you, and you stared back at him. You hands grew clammy as you felt your eyes close, and lips surface themselves onto yours. His lips shaped against yours as his hands fell to your waist. Your eyes squeezed shut, as you savored the spontaneous, undeniably perfect kiss. “What do you say we get out of here maybe grab a coffee or something?”

Zayn: “I just wanted to spend the day with you Zayn,” you whined against his sleeve. “I already told the boys that we would stop by. We can just go say hello, then we can leave. I promise we won’t stay long,” you groaned. You walked through the door, into one of the busiest parties you’ve ever seen. “See? They wouldn’t have even noticed if we didn’t come,” you said pushing someone in a skimpy dress off of you. “It’s Lou’s first party. He wanted everyone to be here,” he replied holding onto your hand tightly. Zayn was wearing a snug suit vest, that made him look sexier than ever with his quiff gelled to perfection. “Louis!” Zayn called to his bandmate. “Zayn! Y/N!” I’m so glad you two could make it. “We wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Zayn said giving him a bro-hug. You shot Zayn an annoyed glance, you just haven’t really been in a great mood today. You just wanted to spend today, snuggled up in bed with Zayn. He gave you the look that said “What can I do about it?” “Merry-” somebody swept him off grabbing Louis by his collar. He was laughing as he got pushed onto the dance floor. He boogied it out, totally forgetting about the two of you. “Now can we go?” you asked Zayn. “Yeah. Hold on let me just go say hi to the rest of the boys,” he said putting his hand carefully back into yours. “Hey Li!” he said giving him a hug too, “Where’s Harry and Niall?” Liam pointed to the kitchen. We walked into the kitchen, before passing under the doorway he noticed something. “Y/N?” “Yeah?” “Look,” he pointed up to the green plant above you. You grinned, before he attacked you in a hungry kiss. The kiss only took seconds to escalate, before his tongue was shoving itself into your mouth. He licked every corner of your mouth, fighting away your tongue. You felt him smiling against your lips as he dipped you backwards. You smiled back, as his hands moved his way up from your bum, towards your boobs. You were wearing a tight black dress that left you very little room to breathe. He caught himself in the act, pulling away frustrated he spoke gruffly, “Let’s go home.”

Harry: You scurried around adjusting plates, fixing lights, filling punch bowls. Everything needed to be perfect, everything was going to be perfect. “Harry! Get your ass down here and help me!” you yelled up the stairs as you carried a tray of cookies across the room. “Harry Styles. At your service. Ma’am,” he said putting a hand up to his forehead. “Shut up Harry. This is no time for jokes. People are going to be here any minute and the place still looks like a dump,” you shouted behind you. “Looks good to me,” he said sliding his hands into his pocket and rocking side to side. “Chop chop! Help out,” you said smacking his bum. “Hey!” he said holding it in defense. You laughed, “Let’s go! We don’t have time for fun and games!” “Okay okay. What do you need me to do?” he asked. “First of all. I need you to take out the turkey from the oven before it burns,” he did as you said, walking out with a perfectly roasted turkey. “Great. Now place it on that table. And make sure all the party favors are by the door. Oh and then make sure the tree is not slanted, then make sure the place settings are in order, then check-” he stopped you by placing something above your head. “What the hell are you doing?” you asked him as he raised the green leaves higher and higher. “It’s mistletoe. Duh,” he smirked. “I’m pretty sure you can’t just do that,” you pointed out. He kissed you anyways. His gentle lips forming around yours to make a perfect melody. It was love in a kiss. “What was that for?” “It’s a mistletoe. It’s what your supposed to do. And it was to calm you down Y/N. Because everything’s gonna be perfect, after all everything you do is perfect.”

Liam: “Li you’re gonna be fine,” you whined into his ear as you held onto his nervous, sweating hand. “What if they don’t like me?” he asked for the millionth time. “Liam. Listen to me. What’s not to like about you? They’ll love you,” you pecked his cheek softly, “I promise.” “And of course you had to pick their Christmas party for them to meet me,” he sighed heavily, taking your hand and leading you back into the living room. “Mom, Dad!” you called waving them over to you. “Ahh. You must be Liam,” your dad said holding out his hand after moving his glasses up onto his nose. “Yes I am. Nice to meet you sir,” he shook his hand firmly. You watched as your dad eyed Liam closely. “And you two Mrs. Y/L/N,” he said moving over to your mom. “Mmm,” was all she said. Your parents weren’t erm-the friendliest couple on the block. Liam gave you a troubled glance, you squeezed his hand in encouragement. “Well we’re gonna be over there…” you said trying to get out of the very awkward situation. “I think they hate me already! Oh my. Y/N what have I done-” he spoke as soon as they walked away. “Liam look-” “I’ll just have to wow them the next time I see them. Yeah that’s what I’ll do, I’ll use my brains-” “Liam!” you snapped him out of whatever world he was visiting and pointed directly above you. “Mistletoe,” you breathed. He smiled. He looked around quickly, “Did you know that the Druids were the first ones to discover the mistletoe? They are parasitic plants…” You knew what he was doing. Your dad was a college professor and your mom was the CEO of her company. You were used to it. Used to people always trying to kiss up to them, using their smarts to get their attention. “It’s supposed to be good luck. And only in the 18th and 19th century did the Biritsh start hanging them-” “Shut up and kiss me you fool,” you said grabbing his shirt and bringing him to your lips.

Louis: “C’mon Lou. You can’t seriously be mad at me,” you said. His hands stayed glued to the steering wheel, his eyes fixated on the road in front of him. “Louis?” you asked nudging his shoulder, “At least say something?” “What do you want me to say? That my girlfriend nearly forget it was my Birthday, and doesn’t even have anything planned for me?” Louis said sourly. “Louis. I’ve said I’m sorry so many times. And I didn’t forget. I’ve said Happy Birthday thousands of times babe,” you said kissing his cheek. He pulled away, swerving the car to the right barely missing a trash bag lying limply on the road. “Whatever,” you heard him mumble. It was no use. You sat back in your seat, just counting the minutes until you got home, out of the car, away from Louis. After minutes of silent driving, he stopped the car and was the first one to get out. You rolled your eyes as you unlatched your seat belt and got out after him. You followed him to your front door, as he unlocked it with his keys. “SURPRISE!” a collection of his friends, family, and the rest of the band popped out from their short-lived hiding spots. They threw colors of ribbons, streamers, and balloons into the air. The expression on Louis’ face was priceless, hilarious enough that someone had to take a shot of it with their phone. “Mistletoe!” they called in unison pointing above a stunned Louis. You were afraid he was still mad at you… but he flipped you around quickly, with a gaping grin on his face. He grabbed your hips harshly, placing a longing, greedy kiss on your lips. It was the best thank you, he could’ve ever given you. His lips left yours minutes later, “Happy Birthday baby.”
