Eden Salvatore

" I, Eden take you Adalina, to be my friend, my lover, the mother of my children and my wife. I will be yours in times of plenty and in times of want, in times of sickness and in times of health, in times of joys and in times of sorrow, in times of failure and in times of triumph. "

Adalina was her name. Mother told me five minutes before the ceremony.

" I promise to cherish and respect you, to care and to protect you, to comfort and to encourage you, and stay with you for all eternity. "

" With this ring, I give you my heart, I promise from this day forward, I shall not walk alone but with you, may my heart be your shelter, and my arms be your home. " I vowed, my voice loud and clear.

The fucking universe knew I was fucking lying.

Elliot, my best man handed me a diamond ring fit for the queen herself. It was beautiful and so mystical, the only best for my bride. I picked it myself because it was the least I could do for the poor girl, the rest of her life with me was going to be miserable.

I dropped her hand faster than lighting strike. She was shaky, trembling slightly. Coldness radiant off of her skin, sending shivers down my spine. She hated this as much as I did.

" I, Adalina, take you Eden, to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. "

She said her vow with so much emotions like she really did mean every words. Her voice soft and as sweet as sugar, I could almost taste it in my mouth.

" I promise to remember that neither one of us is perfect. But, will strive to remind myself of the ways we are perfect for each other. "

" With this ring, I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live. " with shaky hand, she successfully shoved the golden band into my ring finger.

I was fucking married. The pastor pronounced us husband and wife five minutes ago and I didn't do anything about it. I stood still in my place, eyes never leaving my feet, but I knew she didn't move an inch either.

Uncomfortable silence lingered in the air. Stares burning the side of my head but no one dared utter a single word. I hated this. They were waiting for me to do something I didn't want to. A frustrated sigh escaped my throat and I heard my wife cussed under her breath.

" Just fucking kiss me. Goddamn it. " she hissed lowly but loud enough for me to hear it.

" No. Let's just leave. " I shook my head.

" You're being a bloody child. At least look at me. " she grunted again, this time taking a step toward me.

" I don't want to. "

" Are you gay? Tell me you're not gay. God this is so fucking awful. " she rambled under her breath, looking everywhere but me.

I tilted my head upward to look at her for the first time since I glanced her for no longer than two seconds when she walked down the aisle. She was beautiful in white, she owned the fucking color and I knew she knew it too.

She was pretty with golden brown hair that matched her big doe eyes and even under the thin layer of her veil I could tell her face was flawless, bare off any spots. She was almost angelic but the fire in her eyes told me otherwise.

The girl kept rambling on about how horrible it was that her grandfather married her off to a guy who was attracted to the same species as her. Her life crisis speech was hurting my head and the pastor was getting rather uncomfortable as I saw him fumbled his cloak nervously.

I grunted in annoyance, taking a step closer closing the distance. I grabbed her waist with one arm while another lifted off her veil. A gasp escaped her pouty mouth as I crashed my lips onto her shutting her up.

" Final-fucking-ly. I thought we were going to be here forever. I was this close to do the kissing part for him. Jesus Christ. " Elliot scoffed as people applauded in delights.

The estate had always been beautiful but with strings after strings of golden fairy lights around, it looked magical under the moonlit night. I held her much smaller hand between my palm and another placed on the small of her back as we danced into the cold breeze of the winter night. She had her hand on my shoulder, we were inches apart but I never looked at her.

She sighed as I abruptly dropped her hand, and left the dance floor when the song of our first dance ended, her glares clawing my back but I couldn't careless. I had done enough for the day.

" There's my favorite little pumpkin. " I smiled, picking my niece up from her father's laps.

Nicholas silently thanked me as he took my sister in law out to the dance floor. The little girl in my arms squealed as she watched her parents twirled around happily.

" Do you want to dance, mads? " I chuckled, kissing her chubby cheek.

Madeline Salvatore might be the only girl on earth who had me wrapped around her tiny little fingers.

" Yes, please uncle Eden. " she giggled as I walked us to the dance floor.

" Did I tell you you look beautiful in that dress? " I winked, making her laughed.

" Did you tell your wife she looks beautiful, uncle Eden? " the sly little girl asked and I let out a little scoff.

The rest of the party was somewhat bearable, thanked to the little girl who I stole from her parents. Madeline kept me occupied the whole night giving me an excuse to not talk to the guests whom I didn't even remember seeing before.

My wife and I didn't share another word the whole night, silent glances across the room were all that needed. She was dancing around in her gown with particularly anyone who asked, but at least she was laughing and goofing around happily.

The wedding reception didn't end until midnight, Madeline was getting lumpy and exhausted. She had her head on the nape of my neck and little arms hung lazily around my shoulders as she slept soundlessly.

" Do you want to adopt her? You know I will never give her to you right? " my sister in law, Nicholas's wife, Anastasia cocked an eyebrow at me as she walked toward us.

" Please, you know I enjoy being the uncle. I get to play with her while you do all the hard parenting work. " I shrugged my shoulders.

" You're impossible. " she chuckled, taking Madeline from my arms.

I shoved my hands into my trouser's pockets taking a step backward as my big brother came behind his wife with their son cradled between his arms. A ghost smile played on my lips as I watched the happy family before my eyes. Those two deserved all the happiness in the world with their children after everything they had went through.

" I didn't get a chance to say congrats. Have a happy marriage life, brother. I'm so proud of you. " Nicholas gave me a side hug, patting my back.

" Be good to her, Eden. She's a great girl. " Anastasia smiled. I nodded my head blankly.

One by one, the guests left and soon silence surrounded the place. I stood in front of the limo waiting for my wife to change out of her dress and when she came, we got in and left for our honeymoon to the most romantic place on earth Paris, France before touring all over Europe.

Or at least she did.

I watched her board the private jet before I left the airport and went to the train station. With a ticket in my hand and a small luggage in the other, I got on the train to Cotswold.
