Maya's pov:

"Maya!!" Mel's voice boomed in.

Brian and I turn around and find her standing in front of me with a look of uncertainity.

"Hey Mel, everything alright?" I placed my hand on her shoulder. She looked around as if trying to hide from someone. I followed her eyes into the crowd and find a boy about Mel's age glaring at her.

"Um.. yeah. Can I be with you? Mom and Dad are talking with Drake's parents." Mel fidgeted.

"Okay, yeah sure." I gave a non believing smile.

"Hey, I don't think we have met. I'm Brian." Brian gives a warm smile.

"I know. Your Maya's boyfriend right?" Mel asked and my eyes widened at her.

"What the-"

"You know me as Maya's boyfriend?" Brian asked, amused.

"Yeah. Maria told." Mel shrugged.

"I'm going to kill her." I mumbled under my breath.

"Anyways, Nice to meet you. I'm Melanie, you can call me Mel for short." Mel rolled her eyes at me.

"Cool" Brian nodded.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned only to find Dirk standing with a grin plastered on his face.

"Hey, Can I talk to you both for a moment?" Dirk scratched the back of his neck.

I tugged on to Brian's sleeve and Brian turned. His eyes fell on Dirk and he immediately wrapped his arm around my waist making me roll my eyes. Mel steps forward and stands beside me.

Dirk's eyes fall on Mel and he froze. I looked at Mel and see that even she was staring at him. I wait for a few seconds before clearing my throat to gain their attention.

"Eyes up here, buddy." I rolled my eyes.

Dirk snaps out of daze and looks back at me.

"Um.. Yeah. I actually wanted to apologize troubling you these past months. I just wanted get Brian's attention so that I could get to know where Dawn was." He admitted.

"Well, apology accepted. Besides, you didn't trouble me much. Just constant annoying but consider it forgiven." I grinned.

"Thanks." He sighed and looked back at Mel.

"Is she your....sister?" Dirk pointed at Mel.

"Yep, Meet Melanie and Melanie, this is Dirk." I introduced both of them.

"Hi." She softly told and blushed hard.

"Hey." He let out a breath.

"Um... If you don't mind, Can I ask Melanie for a dance?" Dirk scratched the back of his neck.

My eyes widened at the scene in front of me. I looked at Mel who shyly nodded. I looked back at Brian who gave a nod too.

"Yeah fine. Keep an eye on her." I sighed.

"Sure." He smiled and looked at Mel before lifting his hand and waited for her to take it. Mel shyly obliged and both of them went elsewhere.

"Those were rumors." Brian informed. My head snapped in his direction.

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"He has never been with anyone. He never shares any woman. As far as I know, He has only shown his interest in Melanie." Brian mentioned.

I let out a sigh in relief.

"Will you do the honors of dancing with me?" Brian told in a British accent and I laughed.

"I would love to but I don't know." I bit my lip and looked down.

"Come on, I'll teach you." Brian pulled me.

We made our way to the dance floor and stopped right in the middle. I nervously looked around and find Jenny and Jacob dancing while staring at each other.

I felt a pair of arm snake my waist and I looked at Brian. I slowly placed my arms around his neck and smiled at him.

"Now just go with the flow of music. We just go side to side, alright?" He told.

We slowly started swaying to the soft music.

"What if I fall?" I frowned.

"I'll fall with you." He suggested and I rolled my eyes at him.

"I'm serious. If people are making fun of you, their making fun of me." He looked deep into my eyes as if he could see my soul.

"Alright Alright." I sighed.

"So how is the training going?" Brian asked.

"It's hectic. Dawn won't leave me until I get a move perfect." I sighed.

"That's Dawn for ya." He chuckled and I joined him.

"But I think I'm getting a hang of it. I can probably start in two months." I grinned.

"That's not bad." Brian obliged.

The song ended and we pulled away from each other.

"Hi Brian." Mom's voice chimed in.

"Oh Hey Mrs.Jackson." Brian greeted.

"Oh please honey, call me Amara." Mom waved him off.

"Okay.....Amara." Brian tried it out.

"Oh my honey, you've grown handsome!" Mom winked at Brian as Brian chuckled.

"Mom, don't want dad hearing that." I rolled my eyes.

"Hearing what?" Dad came into my view.

"Oh nothing sweetie. I was just telling them how nice they looked together." Mom smiled and my eyes widened.

"So your with my munchkin huh, Brian?" Dad raised an eyebrow.

"Uh-"

"I'm very interested in her, sir." Brian spoke with confidence.

"Well, you know what's gonna happen if you hurt her, right?" Dad asked, amused.

"I won't let that happen." He gave a stern nod.

"Let's see." Dad sighed and kissed my forehead.

"Where is Mel?" Mom asked.

"Oh she was dancing with Dirk." I look around and spot Mel laughing along with Dirk.

"Ah there they are." I pointed in the direction.

"I'll be back." Dad glared at Dirk before heading towards them.

"Him and his protectiveness." Mom shook her head.

Just then Rose and Samantha join in.

"Maya! You look so beautiful!" Rose came over and hugged me.

"You indeed look pretty." Samantha complimented.

"Thanks. You ladies don't look bad yourselves." I blushed.

"Oh thank you sweet heart!" Rose waved her hand at me.

"Amara, Long time!" Samantha hugged Mom.

"Very true. We should totally catch up. How about a spa day?" Mom gushed and I rolled my eyes.

"i think that's our queue to leave." Brian held my waist as we went over to the other side.

"Hello, Can I have everyone's attention please?" Drake's voice boomed though the speaker.

The crowd went silent as all of us looked at the stage. Drake and Maria were standing with smiles on their faces.

"It's an honor to be present in this charity ball as we will be helping our world be a better place." Drake announced.

"We just need to make a small announcement if Mr.Smirkov won't mind." Maria chimed in.

Mr.Smirkov was the one who was hosting this ball to increase the trust funds. Mr.Smirkov encouraged the couple to go on.

"As all of you know that, Maria and I have been in a relationship since forever." Drake smiled to himself while Maria playfully rolled her eyes.

"We wanted you to know that, Drake and I are engaged and the wedding will be in a month." Maria announced. Roars of cheers echoed through the hall as each of them congratulated the coupled one by one as they got off the stage.

"Well, now that's done." Brian let out a breath.

"What say let's get out of here?" I asked.

"What are you gonna tell your parents?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

"I will only tell Mom." I rolled my eyes.

"Well come on. Let's go" Brian ushered me towards mom who was still speaking with Samantha and Rose.

"Hey Mom." I called out. She turned and smiled at me.

"Yes sweetie?" She asked.

"Since the announcement is done, can I go? Brian will be with me." I told, quickly.

All three ladies start smirking.

"Yeah sure. Come back in one piece." Mom called out as we were leaving.

I rolled my eyes at her as we walked out.

I let out a groan as my feet started hurting because of the heels. Brian looks at me before shaking his head and kneeling down. He taps my heel.

"Take it off." He states.

I slowly removed them and sighed at the feeling of freedom my feet felt.I bent down to pick the heels up but Brian beat me to it. I furrow my eyebrows at him.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

He doesn't reply. Instead, he locks his left arm behind my knees and wraps the other arm around my waist before picking me up. I yelped as he lifted me and grabbed on to his neck.

"Your feet are hurting." He shrugged.

"But I can-"

"Your feet are hurting and that's it" He shuts me up. I let out a sigh knowing I won't be able to win this battle.

He takes me to his car and puts me in along with my heels and gets into the driver's seat.

************************************************************************************

"Where are we going?" I pouted as I stared at him.

"I'm taking you to one of my 'escape reality' places." He mentions.

"Where is that?" I chirped.

"Somewhere." He muttered.

"Come on, tell me." I whined and gave him a pouty face.

He looked at me before shaking his head.

"Don't do that babygirl." He violently shook his head.

I smirked inside my head and pouted more and leaned in so he could get a view of my face.

He looked at me and frowned.

"Fuck! Okay!" He sighed and I fist bumped the air.

"It's this waterfall. Not that steep and we're going to a forest kind of place." He informed.

"But I don't have clothes." I frowned.

"I have few of my T shirts and shorts in the back." He shrugged.

"And what about my heels?"

"Barefoot Dimple." He rolled his eyes.

Barefoot?! What if there are insects?

It's a forest area dumb ass, of course there will be insects.

I felt nauseous immediately. If you haven't noticed, I'm Entomophobic which means I have an extreme fear of insects. Even butterflies.

"But there are insects over there, right?" I gulped as I fidgeted with my fingers.

"Oh not that much. Just few grasshoppers, crickets, and butterflies or moths. Spiders too but they are rare." Brian answered and I felt the sweat forming on my forehead.

"Uh...Brian-"

"We're here." He chirped as he stopped the car.

"Wait, I'll give you a T shirt and shorts. You can change in the car. I'll be out." Brian rambled as he got out.

I almost started panicking at the thought of seeing the insects. Brian opens my side of the door and hands me the clothes.

"Make it fast." Brian tells as he closes the door.

I sighed and quickly changed into his clothes. I opened the door and found him in his boxers with no shirt on. I quickly looked away as I got out of the car.

"Come on." He tugs my hand. I looked at his hard chest and my eyes trailled down to his perfectly sculpted six pack as I grew red.

"Your not wearing anything on top?" I shyly asked. He furrowed his eyebrows before his lips quirked into a smirk.

"Your getting distracted?" He takes a step closer and I gulped.

"No not at all" I huffed and looked away.

"Come on, you know you like my body." He sang.

"Oh please, I've seen better." I scoffed and folded my arms.

He took and another step forward before trapping me between him and the car.

He leaned in and captured my lips with his and an amazing feeling erupted in the pit of my stomach. I immediately started responding and he harshly pulled away.

"Don't say anything like that Dimple. I don't like it." He told in a no nonsense tone.

"Okay." I whispered.

"Let's go." He grabbed my hand before interwining our fingers as we walked into the trees.

I kept looking up as to not notice anything going on on the round. I tightened my hold on Brian and he didn't seemed to mind.

"Is everything alright Dimple? You seem in discomfort." his voice laced with concern.

"It's just that... I'm not really good at seeing insects." I sighed and looked down only to find a  huge ass grasshopper jumping around. I immediately started trembling as my lips quivered.

"Bri-Brian!" I took a step back and turned. A blue butterfly just flying over and around me.

"Hey! Hey!" Brian grabbed both my arms.

"Take them away from me!" I started screaming as tears started streaming down my face.

"Whoa Shit!" Brian engulfed me into a hug and I buried my face in his chest.

"Tell them to go away Brian!" I sobbed.

"It's okay baby. I'm here. Your pumpkin is here." He soothingly rubbed my back and I felt myself relax slightly.

"Want me to carry you?" he asked and I immediately nodded before jumping. He caught me and I wrapped my legs around his waist before nuzzling into the crook of his neck. I was still crying. He grabbed my thighs for better support.

"Baby Don't cry. I'm here. We'll get through this together." Brian cooed and I sobbed harder.

"You want to go home?" He asked and I shook my head as tears weren't stopping.

"Are there insects near the waterfall?" I hiccuped.

"It's an open ground there baby. No insect will come near. I'll make sure of it." He comforted me.

"Then let's go there as fast as possible." I whispered.

"Are you sure baby?"  I slowly nodded.

"The second you feel uncertain, we're leaving." He told sternly.

"Okay." I whispered as I stopped sniffling.

He started walking forward and my eyes were closed shut.

After a few minutes, He stopped.

"Open your eyes Dimple. Nothing here but the water fall." Brian told, soothingly.

I tightened my arms around his neck before slowly opening my eyes. I'm met with a plain ground which has no sign of any insect I can see. I sighed up weakly turned my head to the other side.

I looked there and gasped at the view in front of me.

It was on the other side of the lake and it looked breath taking.

"Whoa! Why is the other side filled with trees and this side not?" I smiled.

"The other side is the deeper part. This side is actually used for camping sometimes, so they had to clear some trees." Brian explained.

"But it's beautiful" I gawked at it.

"No as much as you." he whispered and I turned to face him.

He surprised me by placing his lips on mine.
