Maya pov:

"May!! you gotta get up now?" I head a voice and I groaned in response and turned towards the other side.

"Sam move aside." I heard another voice which obviously belonged to my elder sister. I heard few footsteps and I suddenly felt as if an ice cold water had been poured on me before I heard a splash. I jolted up and gasped.

"What the fuck?!!!" I breathed out trying to regain my normal breathing.

"And now she is awake" Maria states while her hands are on her hip.

"what the fuck was that for?" I yelled at both of them, although I was not looking at Sam as I was still pissed at him.

"That was for not telling me you went on a date." She told and rushed over to me and holding my cold hands. I knotted my eyebrows in confusion.

"What date are you talking about?" I asked and she gave the 'Don't you dare lie to me' look.

"I was talking about the date which you had yesterday with that total eye candy. His name is Brian." She chirped, happily. My eyes almost popped out of my skull.

" Whoa whoa hold on there. That was not a date, it was just a friendly dinner and also he owed me one. By the way, how the fuck did I end up here. Last time I remember I was in the car with-" She interrupted me.

"With Brian. Yeah I know. But when he reached here you were already asleep and apparently you wouldn't wake up which is no surprise to us and so he carried you all the way up till here"

I stared at her dumbfounded, with chills all over my body as someone threw cold water on me.

"You weren't even  letting him go" She started laughing and I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up" I shrugged.

"Okay anyways today we are spending time together as family although only three of us are here and no buts" She warned with her index finger pointed upwards.

She looked over at me and smiled.

"Go freshen up and come down, I have made breakfast" She grinned before leaving the room.

Only after she left I realized Sam was still in the room looking at his feet ,finding some interest in it.

"I'm sorry"-"I'm sorry"

We both looked at each other and smiled. I got out of the bed, still wet from the water. I move towards him.

"I would hug you but I just took a bath and I don't want to get wet" He gave a blank look.

"Aw... Come on Sammy give your sister a hug, you love your sister don't you" I move further with my arms spread wide. Before he even got the chance to run out of  the room I smashed myself on him making him fall with a thud. I wrap my arms around his torso and squeeze it tightly.

"No no no Maya! Ugh!---------------------Okay can't breathe, can't breathe" He tapped my arm and I instantly loosen up my hold on him and give him a wide toothy grin.

I look at his outfit and I am immediately satisfied  on how much I ruined it. I pull away from the hug and sat in front of him.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you by not telling you this. I thought of telling you but I know you wouldn't approve it." His eyes were almost wet. I cup his face.

"Hey hey hey it's fine. Honestly I'm sorry I shouldn't have been demanding towards yo as it is your life." I explained.

"No it's not your fault it's just I'm scared of what you might do" He mumbled and I laughed.

"Don't need to be a baby Sam, I will be over protective. After all it's my brother we are talking about. You would do the same too right?" I asked.

"Of course I will. By the way, did you actually go on a date yesterday?" He asked, in a serious tone. I felt my cheeks heat up at the thought of it being a date. I shook my head in response.

"Don't you think I would tell you?" I frowned

"That's what I thought, Anyways about the girl I was talking to the other night." He looked at me with slight fear evident in his eyes.

"Yeah is it something I should worry about?" I asked, hoping it isn't.

Of course it is you idiot. why else would he hide it from you?    

" I don't know" He shrugged.

"Look if you don't wanna tell me it's fine" It' not.

"I don't wanna force you" I squeeze his hand slightly.

"no I want to tell you" He seemed determined.

"Okay....well..."

He took a deep breath and looked at me.

"It's Tia" I was dumbfounded. 

Tia of all girls he got Tia.  What the fuck?!

So Sam was the guy Tia was cheating on with Jake. Holy fuck!!

The realization struck me like lightning that I had not talked to Jake at all since the rumors were going on.Jake had been my friend since kindergarten. I felt a ping of guiltiness spring up in my heart for not being there for him.

"Maya? Are you alright? you kind of zoned out?" Sam shook my shoulders

My lips went into a thin line showing Sam that I am clearly not happy with the situation and I could see the guilt in his eyes too.

"Honestly Sam I don't think she is good for you. Didn't you know she was dating Jake? And shouldn't you at least have told her to break up with him rather than cheating?" I frowned.

"I honestly tried. I told her that we could make it official after she breaks up with him but she told she is scared of doing it as people will judge her." He looked at me.

"Well don't you think it is a bit too late to think that" I crossed my arms and frowned.

I'm gonna talk to her. I will also warn her about what will happen if she hurt my brother the way she hurt Jake. I sighed and ran my hand across my wet mop of hair.

"Look, I cannot ask you to do whatever I want a it is your life." I could sense the happiness in his eyes.

"But" I raised my index finger to warn him."I'm not a fan of it and I clearly don't support it. Also I'm gonna have a serious talk with Tia about this whole situation so if she comes crying to you bawling her eyes out I already warned you" I stated. He gulped and nodded.

"Aren't the big brothers supposed to have this kind of talks with their sister's boyfriend?" He jokes.

"Yeah, in my case I have only One big brother who lives in Australia." My lips twitched into a smirk.

He fake gasped and pretended as though a bullet went through his heart.

"I'm a big brother too" He puffed his chest out. I raised my eyebrow.

"No you are not. You are just a baby" I cooed while pinching his cheeks. He swatted my hands away and groaned in response.

"Okay now get out before I catch a cold" I kicked him out of my room and shut the door before hearing a 'oomph' sound.

I immediately took a hot shower and got changed into jeans, white T shirt and a leather jacket.

I also decided to hang out with Jake in the evening as to see how he is doing. I took my phone and immediately rang up Jake.

After a few rings he picked up.

"Hello" His voice sounded groggy and depressed. I frowned. This is not the Jake I know.

"Hey Jake it's me Maya" I told in a happy tone, trying to cheer him up.

"Oh hey Maya" he still sounded sad.

"Want to talk about it?" I asked in a fragile tone. There was silence on the other side of the phone.

"Not right now" he told after a few moments.

"How about we meet in the evening huh?" I asked. hope laced in my voice.

"I'm not sure if you want to see me" He told

"What? No way. Why would I not want to see you?  I'm coming to your home at 6." I practically yelled. He chuckled on the other side which made my heart happy that I made him smile.

"I don't have a choice, do I?" He asked

"Of course not" I scoffed.

"Fine I'll see you later. Bye" He told

"Yeah bye" I told before ending the phone call and closing my room door.

I headed downstairs and dug into the pancakes made by my dear sis.

"Damn! these are good" I stuffed myself even more.

"Careful" Maria warned and I rolled my eyes at her.

"So about today" She chirped again and I groaned in thinking about what her plan might be. She lightly slapped my head and gave me a playful glare while Sam was not even listening to what was happening. The whole time he was hogging his food.

" I thought we could go check out my bride dress and the bridesmaid dresses." She stated and I groaned again.

"Come one. I promise it will be fun." She whined.

"You even make the fun thing sound boring" Sam interrupted and He also received a hard smack on his head for which I laughed and he scowled at me.

"Fine let's make a deal." She slammed her hand on the dining table. Sam and I raised an eyebrow in response.

"If you agree to come with me and enjoy the day finding my dress and bridesmaid dress,  we could go for a movie and I have a surprise waiting up for you tonight" She told

"Why the fuck should I come?" Sam retorted.

"Because I said so" She told in a parent voice. He huffed

"Nah that much is not enough" I shrug

"What else do you want?"She sighed. I looked up at her and smiled.

"Food" I stated.

"How about I make the death by chocolate cake tomorrow" She asked.

I stood up cleaned my face with a tissue, tightened my shoe lace and looked at them. She was looking at me confused. Sam too got up and drank a glass of water before taking his jacket.

"What are we waiting for? I don't want any delay on my death by chocolate cake" I exclaimed.

"Hey it is mine too" Sam yelled.

"In your dreams boy, In your dreams"I stuck my tongue out at him she laughed in response before shaking her head at us two.
