"you got a new girl, new friends, brand new,i swear its like i don't even know you, yeah i miss the old you "

"Olivia Fontaine, what a nice surprise to see you," Jerry says to Olivia with a smile. It was the day of the picnic at Reverend Marsh's house and the girl's parents had allowed Ollie to walk over to Green Gables and join Anne to the party.

"Yes, it always is nice when you say this face." She jokes. "I do look good, don't I?"

"Oh, Olivia you look absolument Magnifique." [absoloutely gorgeous] He says and a grin spreads onto her cheeks.

"Merci beaucoup, je t'aime Jerry." [thank you very much, I love you jerry] Pressing a kiss to his cheek, she runs into the house to meet Anne who, to her surprise, had her hair in a different style instead of her usual two braids.

"Did you change your hair?" Olivia asks Anne and Anne sighs in embarrassment.

"I think my hair doesn't look as scrumptious as yours down but Marilla insisted on keeping it flowing." She complains, laying her head on the table that sits in front of her.

"Oh hush now, your hair is just fine resting over your shoulders" Marilla scolds, laughing slightly. "You look very beautiful with your hair as well, Olivia. Wear it proudly."

"Oh, thank you, Ms. Cuthbert. I'll wear it for the both of us, right Anne?" Ollie and Marilla laugh and Anne rolls her eyes.

"Yeah, yeah, we have places to be."

"Grace, Charles, we return your darling daughter to you." Matthew says to the couple.

"We hope she wasn't too bothersome." Grace laughs. "She can tend to be like that, we know first hand."

"Trust me Grace, she and Anne are practically twins so if we can handle one of them, we can handle them both." Marilla jokes and Grace and Charles lead the brother and sister pair away to talk and do adult things.

Olivia takes Jerry by the hand and leads him and Anne away to where Diana sits with her parents. "May we take dear Diana with us please Mrs. Barry?" Ollie asks and the woman nods, smiling.

"So what should we do first? There are two-legged races, canoeing out on the pond, ice cream, hide and go seek, tag, swimming, and jumping rope." Diana asks, looking around at everyone in the yard who are running around laughing and talking.

"I'm up for a little canoe ride, what about you Olivia?" Anne asks and Ollie looks at the blue and brown water but remembers her last encounter with the liquid.

"I'm actually going to go get some ice cream. You guys go ahead, though." She smiles at her three friends and they nod, going ahead to where the canoes are. Turning on her heel, Olivia walks over to a buffet table where Rachel Lynde is handing out bowls of the sugary goodness. She had only had ice cream twice in her life, once for her birthday in France and another time when they moved to New York and might she say, she was a big fan.

Rachel hands Olivia a huge scoop and she immediately stuffs her face with it. "The ice cream must be especially good today," Charlie says, walking up to stand next to her.

Laughing, she puts her spoon down, looking at him. "It truly is."

"May I?" He asks, grabbing a spoon and mentioning to the ice cream.

"Of course," she holds the bowl out for him and he takes a scoop of it. Moaning in delight.

"Yes, that is delicious." He agrees. "Would you like to sit by the lake and eat this together?"

Sucking in a breath, her eyes travel to where Gilbert and Josie are taking off in one of the canoes, laughing. "Sure, let's go." She takes Charlie by the hand, dragging him over to a tree that sits on the edge of the lake. Plopping down on the grass, Charlie follows suit.

"So do you like it here in Avonlea?" He asks her, taking another bite of the ice cream.

"Yes, It's very beautiful here. And the people are very kind." She nods but as soon as she says it she sees Billy running after a duck. "Some of them at least."

"Billy can be mean. Especially to the girls." Charlie agrees. "He's cool otherwise."

"Well for some reason he hates Anne and me." Olivia chuckles. As she takes a bite of the ice cream, it drips down to her chin. Charlie grabs a napkin that he had taken earlier and wipes it off. It's only then that Olivia realizes just how handsome Charlie actually is. With his swooped hair and dark brown eyes. Almost as dark as-

A scream brings the two out of their moment and they both look to the lake where Josie had fallen into the water and Gilbert was leaning slightly over the canoe, staring at the pair.

Josie's complaints catch Gilbert's attention and he finally realizes that she's still in the water so he quickly grabs her hand and helps her back into the boat.

"Is it just me or has Gilbert been staring at us the entire time we've been here?" Charlie asks.

"No, I don't think he has. He has no reason to."
