Jeongguk returned to his cabin after Wooyoung informed him that Yunho has brought Taehyung there when he finished treating the little prince and the captain thanked his second mate with a pat on his shoulder before walking towards the upper deck.

"Baby?", he asked carefully into the silence. He found Taehyung curled up on their now shared bed, hidden under a blanket and rocking back and forth. His eyes seemed unfocused and Taehyung was staring into space, not even acknowledging Jeongguk's presence in the room.

When he did, he gasped softly, eyes turning wide and he watched frozen how Jeongguk hesitantly walked closer to him. "Hey", Jeongguk whispered carefully, watching how Taehyung shifted in his spot and looked up shyly to him. "Hi", Taehyung spoke in a whisper, nervously. He remembered Jeongguk's words, the love confession and Yoongi's horrible words were planted in his mind.

Jeongguk sat down on the side of the bed, still keeping a respectful distance to Taehyung if he wanted to back away which Taehyung noticed with a weird flutter of his heart. "Um, how are you?", the pirate asked, smacking himself inwardly right after the words left his lips. It was stupid, why was he so nervous?

But a giggle made him look up with wide eyes. Taehyung shuffled closer, until he sat besides Jeongguk, a shy hand coming out of the blanket, reaching forward and gently placing it onto Jeongguk's thigh. The pirate's breath hitched as he watched the action happen.

"Did you really mean, what you said?", Jeongguk was surprised to hear the prince's silent voice and he turned to look at Taehyung who did not dare to meet his eyes, only looking down to his lap. "I meant everything", Jeongguk said sincerely, too late in noticing how Taehyung stiffened, face turning into a frown.

"Oh", he whispered, visibly upset and Jeongguk then realized that he must have referred to his confession of his first intention in selling Taehyung and he panicked. "Tae, I could've never do this to you. I said it, yes and I cannot take these horrid words back but I was planning on keeping you. I am a selfish man, ever was and ever will. And when I realized I fell for you, I've made my decision. How can I give away the person I love?", Jeongguk said, voice merely above a whisper and he wanted Taehyung to believe him.

The boy stayed silent, gnawing on his bottom lip and he seemed to be lost in his thoughts. "Are you honest with your words, Jeongguk?", Taehyung then asked, surprising the other. He sounded fierce and the look in his eyes gave away that he was serious and indeed wanted an honest answer.

Jeongguk willingly gave him one. "Yes, Angel, I am. I've never come to imagine to love someone. But I do. I love you, Taehyung and I will accept whatever decision you'll made", Jeongguk spoke sincerely. It was the truth. Since Taehyung and him had this conversation in the medic room, Jeongguk has found feelings blossoming in his chest.

They were confirmed when the mere thought of losing Taehyung made him scream at San who was shocked and surprised. Jeongguk then knew it was over for him but he accepted these feelings.

"You are a pirate and I am a prince... but this does not mean anything to you anymore, does it?", Taehyung asked, leaning forward and just like a magnet, Jeongguk felt himself being pulled towards Taehyung as well. His eyes wandered down to his lips. "No, not anymore. Only you count", Jeongguk breathed out hoarsely, carefully bringing his hands upwards to cup Taehyung's face.

The prince let him. "Tell me I should stop, Taehyung", Jeongguk mumbled, bringing himself closer to the gorgeous prince next to him. "Why should I, when I desire the same?", Taehyung whispered back, hands cupping Jeongguk's own and he closed his eyes, lips parting in awaiting.

They noticed the rumors outside too late.

The door banged open, revealing a tall shadow standing in its frame and the two jolted away from each other, looking surprised at the intruder. Behind the man was chaos, loud screams and the metallic clanking of swords hitting against each other growing more visible now that they weren't separated through wood.

Jeongguk pushed Taehyung behind him, the little prince curling up behind his back and looking to the door scared. "What the fuck is going on?!", Jeongguk demanded to know in a rough voice. The man did not answer.

"Captain, captain, mutiny on deck! Hoseok got the crew to take over-- argh!", Wooyoung has ran up to the cabin, but was taken down by the man standing in the entrance with a swift sway of his sword. Wooyoung crashed to the ground and Taehyung screamed, a sound added to the chaotic musical outside.

Wooyoung gasped, chest heaving up and down heavily, yet nothing important has been injured. The skin of his shoulder was torn and blood seeped out of the wound, but otherwise he was left unharmed. Yet a foot on his other shoulder prevented him from getting up.

When he looked up, he was faced with the first mate of the ship, Hoseok. "You fucking traitor!", Wooyoung yelled outraged at the betrayer who merely gave him a glance, now turning back to the two in the cabin.

His eyes wandered over Jeongguk hovering so protectively over Taehyung and shielding his prey of desire away from his sight. It left Hoseok burning with rage. Behind him, the pirates siding with him took over.

You see, the crew consisted of not so intelligent men, drinkers, traitors, the scum of the scum and always ready for a fight. Hoseok made them believe that their captain wished to abandon them, the biggest treason for pirates and they turned against Jeongguk in blinded rage.

The only ones intelligent enough to know that Jeongguk would never do such a thing, all of his mates and trusted friends, fought bravely for the honor of their captain but the rest has been too enraged to be stopped. Giving Hoseok the chance to finally demand what he has desired from the start.

“I’m not going to watch how you’ll take everything how you please! I’m not going to let you have him!”, Hoseok bellowed, kicking Wooyoung in the face and knocking the young man out when he tried to stand up, falling unconscious to the floor.

Hoseok saw Taehyung peaking from behind Jeongguk's back, churning the fire in his heart.

“Hoseok?”, Jeongguk asked bewildered, not believing his ears. His first mate, his most trusted man, turned against him?

“I, Jung Hoseok, hereby challenge Jeon Jeongguk for the position as captain!”
