{THIRTY-SEVEN}

I quickly slid on my black skin tight dress with spaghetti straps that I had packed. As I was doing my mascara quickly fez knocked on the door. "Cmon y'all we finna be late!" Fez exclaims then goes over to ask Faye for help with his tie.

"You heard him Mari, let's hurry up." Ash says in a sarcastic tone and I roll my eyes. "Your the whole reason we're late." I tell him. "I'm only part of it." He says and I wave him off, , knowing why we were late.

"Do I look nice?" Fez asks for the twentieth time as we're walking into the school, my hand in ashtrays. "Yes fez you do, and I think Lexi would agree." I say nudging him playfully.

Once I get into the theater I take my spot next Maddy and ash sits next to me. I glance over Maddy's shoulders to see Cassie sitting with Nate, dressed very similarly to Maddy. "Might as well change her name to Madeline." I mumble and Maddy let's out a laugh as I wave to rue.

Soon the play starts and it's most stuff I'm not familiar with but I can tell whose who. Then a girl who looks a bit like me comes on stage and Lexi begins speaking. "Then a girl name Amara moved here with her brother drey." Lexi says.

"She was one of the only girls that I knew who knew their worth. That might've been because she wasn't from this messed up town but that night drey died, everything changed in her. I remember a week after she came to my house and cried in my arms for 3 hours. But I didn't care." Lexi says as the girl who looked like me cuddled up against Lexi in her room, same as I did almost a year ago.

"And even though she had those vulnerable moments she never let anyone get under her skin." Lexi says as the girl who looks like me, or Amara punches some druggie who's trying to steal drugs. I let out a laugh remembering that day as Lexi stood in the corner shocked.

"She also never lied about who she hated. And there was one person she hated way further than the definition of hate." Lexi says as my character Amara rolls her eyes at some kid who looks a bit like ashtray. "She hated him, but eventually I think they got used to each other's company. It was no secret that Matthew had some huge crush on her before though." Lexi says and I let out a laugh at the stage name she used for ashtrays character.

Lexi then goes on to talk about Marta and her best friend hallie. I knew it was Maddy and Cassie. "But that was until hallie slept with Marta's boyfriend and lied about it." Lexi says and the whole crowd gasps. "Wait, is this play about us?" Maddy asks a bit amused. "Yeah Maddy, this play is about us." I say laughing.

A bit later it shows Maddy with some boy who I recognized as Ethan, kats ex who she dramatically broke up with. He was playing as Jake, who was really just Nate's bitch ass. "We're not gay babe." Jake says in a douche-ish voice before it cuts to a scene of them all working out, all while doing super suspicious and gay movements. Me and Maddy share a look. "Lexi your a fucking g!" Me and Maddy yell in sync as Nate gets up angrily walking off, Cassie following him.

The play then goes on for a bit until we make it to a night familiar, the carnival. It then jumps to a scene where hallie is basically fucking one of the ponies on the merry go round and Cassie loses it. After a while of her yelling at Lexi, she turns to the crowd. Lexi then quickly walks off stage and I see fez get out of his seat and walk after her.

Cassie then says she could be a villain or some shit but speaks even louder. "And if you think 'Marta'  scares me think again, all I know is she'll get her drug dealer friend to deal with me." Cassie yells and I roll my eyes. "That bitch needs to be put down." I whisper to ash just as Maddy speaks up. "Oh this bitch needs to be put down." Maddy says before getting up and I hold out my hand for her to put her heels in.

Maddy then walks on stage and Cassie instantly runs away until Maddy gets ahold of her, smacking her right across the face. Maddy then chased her out of the auditorium and kat and bb chased after them and all I heard was bb scream "beat her ass Maddy! She fucked your ex, beat her ass!" I love bb. (Bb is bae🤭)

I then turned my attention back as me and rue exchanged a look before I tapped ashtrays arm and me, him and rue began chanting. "Lexi, Lexi, Lexi!" We all began before many others joined until Lexi came back on stage, continuing the play.

"Yes east highland is messed up, but many people can find love,' Lexi began as the curtains opened and showed Amara and Matthew together. "Many people can find new found enemies who you use to tell everything." She finishes showing Marta and hallie.

"But life honestly couldn't get any better." She says with a sigh. "And this is not just my life. But our life." She says, her eyes scanning the room for the people she put in the play. Soon all of the actors came on stage and took there bows.

"I'll be surprised if playboy shows his face again, you nailed that shit lexi." Ash tells lexi as we're eating our 'Lexi just made east highland history' breakfast for dinner at Waffle House. "Thanks ashtray, if it wasn't for y'all the play wouldn't even be where it was." Lexi admits.

"Me and fez have something to tell y'all," lexi starts and I smile already having my speculations. "Y'all are dating?" Me and ashtray ask in sync. "Well, yes. But we have been for a while and we thought about it and lexis gonna move in." Fez says and I hit ashtrays shoulders. "You owe me 50 bucks, new air forces and my fucking ego back bitch!" I yell at him and lexi and fez burst out laughing as he grabs his wallet, upsettingly pulling out two twenties and a ten dollar bill handing it to me.

A/N: ashtray don't think Mari forgot about them air forces now.. order em.
