My name is Kaylee. Kaylee Jean. A nineteen year old, future nurse. At least that's what I was aiming for. Daughter of model Alene M. Jean and doctor turned actor, Harold L. Jean I wanted to be a health professional, like my late father. I wanted to become an actor like him too, but any chance of that was shot down before I could even rehearse my first script due to his death, but this story isn't about that. This is about how I met my dream man, the man who kept me from falling into a mess of myself.

It was three pm on a Thursday. I was sitting next to my best friend since third grade, Carly Green, while she received her chemotherapy. This was every Thursday for us, but I didn't mind. I was there when she found out, I was there when she went through her first session, and I would be there until the very end. In the beginning, she would complain about she didn't want my life surrounded around taking care of her. She would say, "No nineteen year old wants to be in a hospital every week, I don't even want to be here." Then I would roll my eyes at her.

"That's because you're the one with cancer." I would tell her, but I understood. She didn't want to feel like a burden since I was taking the rest of my classes online just to take care of her. It wasn't like I was getting nothing out of this; I was getting paid for technically being her at home nurse, but that wasn't why I took care of her. I knew how rough it was to be alone, and having Cancer and being alone would suck. Especially when you looked like you were on the brink of death most of the time. The rashes, the burns. Chemo wasn't pretty.

"You know," She started playing with my black, kinky hair "When I go into remission, you have to do something crazy to your hair to, you know, celebrate." I chuckled. I loved how she would speak things into existence. That she would get better. The we would be old ladies together.

"What do you suppose I do with it?" I looked up from my magazine at her

"Uh..." She went deep into thought "You should dye it! But what color...bright red!" I rolled my eyes. I couldn't imagine myself with bright red hair, but I would do it for her.

I smiled at her as my stomach rumbled, "Hey, I'm about to go down to the food court, you want anything?"

"Nope. Every time I go through this" She tapped her arm where the IV was attached, "I lose my appetite for a bit." I nodded and stood up "Don't be long, Okay?"

"I'll be right back." I headed to the elevator, and pressed the button to the third floor, where the food court was located. We were only two floors above so it didn't take long to get down there. I looked at my phone to see if I had an texts. None. "Dammit, why hasn't he texted me back?" I thought. I texted a hook from last week at twelve, hoping we could repeat last weekend's event which ironically, weren't that eventful. I think his name was Jeff? Maybe John? "I have to start saving numbers" While I was daydreaming, I didn't noticed that I mindlessly bumped into someone while on the way to the food court.

"What the f*ck?" an angry male voice rang out. I looked around, then at the man on the floor.

"Sweet Jesus this man is hot." His skin was Olive toned, which perfectly set off his clear, green eyes and black hair. He had an professional but aggressive look about him. He was beautiful, but not that normal, basic beautiful. He had Lucifer type beauty, the type that would make you sin in an heartbeat. "Maybe you should apologize" I thought but instead I said "Maybe if you were paying attention, you wouldn't be on the floor you jackweed." How did I even manage to knock him down in the first place.

He picked himself off of the floor, suddenly towering my 5'7 frame. He growled. He didn't seem like the friendly type. I was scared, but I wouldn't allow myself to show him that. I couldn't help but to notice his dark blue scrubs. He looked too young to be a doctor so he was probably a nurse. "How about you apologize."

"Eat my shorts." I growled back and walked around him, to my original destination.

"I'm not done with you!" He yelled. I turned back around and started to walk backwards.

"But I am with you!" and gave him the double bird before turning back around. I continued my two minute walk to the food court, snickering to myself at how angry he must be. Even though I was technically an adult, I could still act like a dickish teenager, right?

I looked around the food court and saw the newly placed McDonald's. Ah, yes. After I have a heart attack filled meal, I can check right into the hospital. I ordered a cheeseburger and two large fries, one for me and one for Carly in case she got hungry, which was always. I started to walk back to the elevator before our food started to get cold. I reached my original spot within four minutes.

"What took you so long?" She asked. "You missed it, I have a new nurse." I sat down in my seat and began eating my fries. I looked over at her and she was looking at my fries. I smiled at her and dug her fries out. She made a quiet groan. "You know me so well."

"Some jerk bumped into me on the way there." I stuffed a few fries in my mouth, "Tell me about this nurse."

Her eyes lit up. "I wonder if he's into the whole dying girl look. If not, you should check into him." I laughed

"He can't be that cute." There was no way that this hospital has two cute male nurses.

"Kaylee, I promise you!" She looked around "I don't think he's on this floor right now, so you'll just have to wait until next Tuesday."

"Okay, hopefully he won't let me down." I grinned as I received a text message from Jeff. Or was it John?

Before responding, I looked at the clock and noticed that it was four, Carly's chemo was done for the day. "I'll be in the car. See you in five." She nodded her head and ate more fries.

"Kaylee!" Carly yelled "I have Cancer, you could at least let me win." It was eleven pm and we were sitting in our living room playing Call of Duty.

I laughed at Carly's frustration, "Just because you have cancer doesn't mean you're excused from getting this long awaited ass beating." I said just as I came around and knifed her right before the final round was over. She made a loud groan before looking at her phone.

"It's almost midnight and we both" She tapped my nose with the tip of her finger "have a long day ahead of us." I nodded in agreement. We both stood up and walked to our rooms. I took of my pajama pants and crawled into bed. I laid down on my back and stared at the ceiling. I let my thoughts roam free but was constantly brought back to the man I bumped into earlier. He was so gorgeous....So handsome....

I found my hand drifting lower and lower until I was at my underwear.

"Goodnight Kaylee!" Carly yelled from her room. Dammit. Mood killed. I removed hand.

"Goodnight Carly!" I yelled back

God, I couldn't wait until Jacob came back over tomorrow
