Dinner at the Cameron's

JESSICA

I walk down stairs and open the small shoe cupboard by the door then grab out my black flats that I've never worn.

I put my phone in my back pocket and grab the spare key off the top of the shoes cupboard. I walk out of the door letting go of a breath I didn't know I was holding in.

I lock the door slipping the key under the plant pot.

I open the gate guarding my house and walk over to the Cameron's ready for the dinner.

Once I arrive I notice how big the house is it take me about 5 minuets to walk to the porch. The only porch I've been on is the one at the chateau and this is almost double the size of that.

I knock on the door and a second later I'm greeted by a tall woman with blonde hair that goes down to her shoulders.

"You must be Jessica I'm Rose"-she puts her hand out for me to shake and I awkwardly smile as I shake her hand-"Sarah speaks very highly of you" Rose tells me.

She steps aside letting me inside, jeez I thought my house was big but this is huge.

Rose leads me to the dining room which is amazingly decorated with candles, a fire place and a large table. That Sarah, Rafe and who I'm guessing is their younger sister are sitting around.

Along with the man I can only assume to be Ward Cameron he's tall with dark hair and a beard that is mostly grey. "You must be Jessica you can take a seat next to Wheezie" he tells me I walk around the table and take the seat next to the young brunette.

I feel so uncomfortable here I don't think they know that my Aunt left me a note. Soon enough plates of food are placed in front of all of us. Chicken dinner with roast potato's, carrots and cauliflower. I have no doubt in my mind that Lucy told them to make this it was my favorite meal as a child.

Whenever my mum and dad had something hard to tell me, they would always make chicken dinner so I'd at least be be happy about the meal. The young girl beside me digs into her meal as I pour myself a glass of water with the glass filled jug in the middle of the table.

We sit in an awkward silence for a good 10 minuets until Ward Cameron speaks "So Jessica dear you Aunt asked us to talk to you about something-" but I interrupt even though I may come of as rude "I know she left a note".

Ward looks deep in thought trying to piece together a sentence, "Jessica we wanted to tell you that we have a spare room here and you are more than welcome to claim it as yours." Rose tells me as she takes a sip of her water.

"Hold on a second now, when did we agree to this?" Rafe speaks up something inside me knew that whatever this dinner was about he wouldn't agree with.

"Rafe it's not like she is going to bother you I'm sure Sarah will keep her company" Ward defends me with a somewhat annoyed tone to his voice directed to the blonde.

"Yeah honestly when Rose told me-" Wheezie says with a smile before Sarah interrupts her "you knew?!"

This going to be fun for sure.

"Sarah If I told you you'd probably tell Jessica the first chance you got, plus I'm pretty sure Wheezie can hear everything that goes on in this house" Rose smiles in attempt to lighten the mood a little.

Sarah lets out a large sigh and sits back in her chair crossing her arms.

"Anyway, you can decorate it as you like just tell us what you want and we will get it for you. Your Aunt did tell us that you'd most likely want to stay at your own house, but the offer is always open" Ward says.

Living here at the Cameron's I mean that would be lovely but my friends seem to hate Kook the Cameron's especially. I can't lose the only friends I have. However, me and Sarah are friends and she would introduce me to her other friends -that I've never actually seen her with-.

I've only ever seen her with Topper.

"That is very kind of you I'll definitely think about it but for now I'd rather stay at my house for now" I tell them as I place my knave and fork in the middle of my plate.

The dinner was lovely but it wouldn't hold a candle to my mothers.

I look to my left to Sarah and she looks exited about the possibility that I would live here. I do want a friendship with the girl she's been nothing but kind to me. But if I'm friends with her I'm not friends with John B, JJ, Pope and especially Kie her and Sarah have some type of history.

"That's fine but just think about it" Ward tells me as he takes his plate into the kitchen which is huge by the way. Everyone seems to be doing the same so I follow them all and put my plate into the dishwasher along with my knave and fork.

"Thank you for the dinner it was lovely" I compliment to no one in particular as I'm not sure who made it I guess it was Rose but I have no clue.

"No problem" Rose smiles, I was right.

I say my goodbyes and make my way to the large font door that leads to the porch. "Hey Jess wait up" I hear Sarah say she smiles happily that I waited.

"Here" She places the bracelet in my hand I told Rafe not to tell her I gave it to him.

"Sarah this is way too nice for me" I say trying to give it back to Sarah but she crosses her arms so can't give it to her.

"Fine" I give in can't see this going my way I put the bracelet on and surprisingly it goes well with my outfit the bracelet is silver and my jewelry that I have on is gold in fact all the jewelry I own is gold.

I make my way back home thinking and overthinking if I should take them up on the offer.

Why do they want me to have this bracelet so bad?

As I reach the black metal gate that guards my house I jump over it because I can't be bothered waiting for it to open.

I was right it is really easy to jump over.
