To my surprise, she could sing. And she was amazing. As she sang the once loud bustling music shop became silent. Letting the girl sing, her voice and the piano were the only things that could be heard. It seemed no one even dared to breathe as it might have disturbed her. Every single person in the shop had fallen victim to her entrancing voice. Mesmerized at the sight of her playing the piano. Her fingers only touching the white and black keys for mere moments at a time. Every person was at the mercy of her song, and I was no exception.
She finished as her voice echoed through the room and looked up, realizing she now had the attention of every single being in the shop. No one moved or spoke. For a few moments, everyone just stared at her as if they were still in a trance. Slowly but surely people started to applaud and cheer for her. I smiled and resumed my way towards the checkout. I smiled at Rei as he greeted me.
"I thought I was the only one to randomly perform in here," I chuckled.
"That was what I thought but last week she came in here and did the same thing with the guitars," he replied.
"I don't think I've seen her before, she new in town," I asked.
"I think so, but she's been coming in here often, she might beat you out as my favorite customer," he joked.
"Ah, I am heartbroken, have you abandoned me, you're only son," I gasped grabbing my chest dramatically.
"Yeah, yeah," he laughs,"are you sure this is all you need?"
"I'm pretty sure," I answered earning an 'are you really sure' look from Rei.
"Alright, so your total will be," Rei started.
"Wait, wait I forgot I need a reed trimmer," I laughed rubbing my neck," clarinet and alto saxophone, please."
"Vandoren," Rei asked.
"Is there another brand I use," I asked rhetorically.
"Alright, seven boxes of reeds, one music stand, which will be shipped to your house, and two reed trimmers, your new total is $494.29," Rei announces," and don't worry I gave you a discount."

"That's why I come to you Rei," I smiled.
I handed him the money and said goodbye. As I was walking out I placed my purchases into my backpack. I stood outside for a few moments and looked up at the sky. It was fairly bright and sunny. I smiled as I continued walking through the shopping center. I headed towards the food court to meet up with a few other friends.
I got something to drink and sat at one of the tables waiting for everyone to arrive. I sat with my headphones in and closed my eyes. My fingers moving with the instrumentals of the song as if I were playing the song. After some time I didn't notice I started singing.
"I keep on flying high knowing it's probably going to kill me, kill me" I sang," I don't care because it thrills me, thrills me. Yeah, I'm crashing down, down. 'Cause I am always aiming too high. Staring too long makes you blin-"
"WHEN ARE YOU NOT WORKING," someone yelled grabbing my shoulders.
"Took you guys long enough to get here," I laughed," I think you missed my last few birthdays, but congratulations I am a hundred years old."
"Woah you look really young for your age," Hina laughed.
Hina is Kenji's sister. Kenji is one of my closest friends. He has dirty blonde hair and tan skin. He is an eccentric guy but that's just what makes him who he is. Hina is his twin sister, unlike her brother she has black hair and porcelain skin and is outgoing but more laid back than her brother. The two of them lived a few blocks away from me when I was a kid and I used to play with them growing up. With the two siblings, there's Takeshi, Yuuji, and Nao.
Takeshi was a tall boy who was almost always calm, well unless Kenji started to bother him or when we would mess with him. That's when all hell would break loose. I met him back in elementary school, he was the only kid with a fedora with a white dress shirt and black vest. Takeshi had black salt and pepper hair and was high maintenance with his looks. Nao usually said that's why no girl ever wanted to date him, that and his horrible pick up lines.
Speaking of Nao, she was basically the female version of Kenji. Nao is the younger sister of Yuuji but if you didn't know them you'd think Hina is related to Yuuji and Nao was related to Kenji. Takeshi still has a theory that they were switched at birth. Nao had light brown hair and light skin. I met her when Yuuji was learning to learn how to ride a bike, he lost control and crashed into the wall in my driveway.
Last but not least, we have Yuuji. He was an overly energetic teen. Who could've also been mistaken for a really tall child. He acted like he was seven most of the time but was always fun to be around. He had black spiky hair and porcelain skin. Maybe Takeshi is onto something...
"So you working on a new song," Nao asked sitting across from me.
"Nah, that one is one I got rid of a while ago, I never could figure out anything more than the chorus," I chuckled.
"I'M SO HUNGRY," Yuuji exclaimed," (Y/N) you know you're like my best bud right?"
"Whatever, here buy everyone something to eat," I laughed as I handed him some money," I want (F/F)."
"I WANT A CHEESEBURGER," Kenji yelled.
"Can you get me a slice of pizza," Takeshi asked.
"A hamburger," Hina stated.
"Let me guess Nao," Yuuji chuckled," a cheeseburger, extra pickles, and a large fries."
"BINGO," Nao giggled.
"I swear you guys only hang out with me for food," I laughed.
"Not only that," Kenji said sitting next Takeshi," you help me with my homework when Hina won't give me the answers."
"Correction, you steal my homework when Hina won't give you the answers," I joked.
"Speaking of homework, am I the only one bummed that we are starting school soon," Nao asked.
"She said the 'S' word," Takeshi announced.
"NAO, DO I NEED TO WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP," I exclaimed.
"That word is forbidden," Hina gasped.
"YOU ARE HEREBY BANISHED FROM THIS FRIEND GROUP," Kenji shouted," LEAVE US YOU TRAITOR."
"Wait, (Y/N), Hina, Takeshi, you are all straight A students who barely ever do homework outside of school," Nao pointed out.
"I SAID LEAVE US," Kenji repeated.
"You guys are such dorks," Nao pouted.
"Yeah but real talk I'm bummed," Kenji groaned.
Hina, Takeshi, and I just shrugged since we were always well off in school.
"Knowing Hina she's excited for English, Takeshi is excited to try to get a girlfriend but will only fail and (Y/N) probably chose music for an elective so yeah," Nao sighed.
"Hey, I'll get a girlfriend," Takeshi spat.
"Oh speaking of music did you see this video," Hina asked leaning over towards me," it was shot in Rei's store, or were you there?"
"He was probably there," Takeshi laughed," there is a good chance there is a bag full of whatever he bought today."
"Who do you work for," I said jokingly.
"What are we talking about," Yuuji asked as he set down the trays of food.
"This video of this girl at Rei's," Hina answered," she's amazing and trending."
As everyone gathered to watch the video I heard rapid footsteps. I turned to see black hair flowing in the wind and immediately smiled knowing who it was. I stood up as the person came running over to us.
"About time you got here, we all got our food," Kenji chuckled.
"That's why I thought ahead and already ordered her food," Yuuji proudly stated.
"Glad you made it, would've been boring without you," Hina giggled.
"We were just about to watch this video Hina found, come and sit with us Manami," Nao said excitedly," oh, is Tanaka not with you?"
Manami sat down and caught her breath. She fixed her hair and adjusted her clothes. She gave everyone a smile and leaned on my shoulder as I sat back down.
"No, he had to run some errands but he said he might join us later," Manami answered," and you know (Y/N) you have not greeted me yet."
"I know, I know, it's good to see you, babe," I chuckled pecking her cheek.
