"You slut, so Jesse gets to rescue you now and we aren't even told you're hurt? Traitor," Lissa hopped onto the bed, jostling me a bit making Jesse stare daggers at her. Lissa flipped her hair, rolling her eyes at him as he scoot closer to my side as if to protect me from her.

Demi strolled in just a little bit later, a look of guilt crossing her face. I wasn't the only one that took notice based on the snort from Lissa.

"She's embarrassed," Lissa explained. She looked pointedly at her as Demi leaned up against the wall, as far away from us as possible.

"I am not," Demi tried and failed to defend herself.

I raised an eyebrow and winced quietly at the pull from the stitches on my head. Glancing at Demi, I waited for her to explain.

Lissa sighed after a few awkward  silent moments passed.

"She just left your house, she was with her boo," she said, her words dripping with disdain.

Demi peered up at me with guilt etched all around her face. With a sigh I shrugged.

"It's not a big deal Dem," I murmured, entirely too tired to really think about all of the drama going on around me. Staring down at the hospital blanket, I wondered how long until I could leave this disgusting place. Someone next door to me has been puking for the last three hours and my mind has been slowly convincing itself I'm coming down with a stomach flu.

"So numb nuts, why are you still here?" Lissa grinned at Jesse and raised her eyebrows over and over, challenging him.

He narrowed his eyes at her.

She giggled. "Oh I'm just playing J, we all know you love her. It's okay, you can admit it finally," she challenged again.

With a sigh, he shook his head in response.

"Do you ever get less annoying? Ever?" he asked. He leaned his arms against the bed.

She glanced up, as if to think about it then shook her head.

"Alright Baby Dess, that's my cue then. Your friends have it from here," He smiled a soft smile, squeezed my hand and stood to leave.

Stopping short of the door, he glanced at Lissa and made a motion at his chin. "You got a little somethin here," he winked and left.

She rubbed at her chin and huffed out a breathy sigh.

"Whatever, okay so we have several movies picked out for tonight, Sex and the City first or Failure to Launch?" Lissa asked.

Demi perked up at that and smiled. "Failure to Launch!

Lissa glared at her. "You don't get to vote."

I stared between the two of them, wondering what I had missed since I last saw them.

"I agree with Demi," I muttered, attempting to sit farther up, but my head started to spin a little bit and my vision blurred.

"The doctors say you shouldn't do anything too strenuous for awhile. You lost a lot of blood apparently," Demi explained.

"Do Jared and Mom know I'm hurt?" I asked carefully, preparing myself for the answer.

Lissa grimaced, as did Demi. They looked at each other and back at me.

"Yes, Jared wouldn't let your Mom come because he knew Jesse was here and he figured they were the last people you wanted to see," Lissa said.

I nodded in response and shrugged. I guess that was a good thing. I'm surprised Jared was able to hold her back though. Mother was never one to be told what to do.

"They have the discharge papers ready for you whenever you'd like to go," Demi explained. "We are your designated chauffeurs for the next few days."

"And if you want to stay at my place for awhile, you're more than welcome to," Lissa smiled and rest her hand on my leg.

Nodding, I pushed myself up further. "That would be great thank you, I just need to get--"

"We already took care of everything," Demi piped in.

Staring back and forth between the two of them, I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. Maybe I didn't realize how little I wanted to go back home.

"Clothes and everything?" I confirmed.

"Even your stupid hat," Lisa grinned.

Wow, they were truly my best friends.

My eyes watered as I stared at the two girls I got to call my best friends, wondering how I was lucky enough to have them in my life.

"Alright, alright, don't go all soft on us now," Lissa demanded, but held her smile. "Man, maybe we should knock you in the head every now and then to make you have emotions."

I rolled my eyes, but let out a laugh.

"Okay, get me out of here please," I requested, sitting up as slowly as possible. Lissa mocked a salute while Demi went to grab a nurse.

.........................

"Ow! Okay, seriously can you drive like a normal person just this once?" I begged, holding my head as tenderly as possible from her slamming me up against the window.

"Sorry!" Lissa exclaimed.

"At least she doesn't drive like a grandma without her glasses," Demi murmured under her breath. Lissa giggled, leaving me to scowl and cross my arms.

I do not drive like that. I'm safe.

"Okay and home!" Lissa peeled into her driveway, Demi letting out a squeak of fear. This time I was prepared and had braced myself against the window.

"Whoa, who is that?" Demi breathed at the sight of the mazaradi in her driveway.

"Oh just Jake! I told him he could come over for a minute," Lissa placed her car in park and hopped out, movies and snacks in hand as she skipped up the steps to her house.

"Jake...joy," Demi grumbled.

"Don't like him anymore?" I asked as I slowly lifted myself out of the car.

Demi glanced at me out of the corner of her eye, telling me she absolutely did not like him anymore. I stopped momentarily out of surprise from her reaction. Okay, now I know I really did miss something while Jesse and I were gone.

"Spill," I demanded, leaning up against the car.

"It's nothing," Demi spit.

I sent her a stern look and crossed my arms. "Right, you're the sweetest one out of all of us," I said and grabbed my purse, shutting the door behind me.

"For you not to like someone is monumental," I finished with her trailing behind me up the steps.

I heard her stop on the steps so I turned around. Her face screamed she was hiding something.

"Dem, what is it?" I asked, my tone softer than earlier.

"Jake tried to kiss me," she whispered.

I stopped breathing and my eyebrows raised. Well, that explains it.

"He shoved me up against her bedroom wall and tried to makeout with me. Adam walked in and ripped him off of me," she explained softly.

Adam. My heart squeezed and my face involuntarily flamed in embarrassment at the thought of the dream I had.

Focus Alice.

Right, Jake.

"That son of a bitch," I let out a deep breath. I turned and started storming up the stairs, but Demi ripped me back.

"No, do not say anything! Have you ever seen her this happy? Plus, he was drunk, he may not even realize," she attempted to explain.

"Demi, no. You need to tell her. She deserves to know," I whispered because I could hear Lissa's laughter on the other side of the door.

"She will be mad at me and you know it," she begged. Her red hair blew into her eyes and I knew she was right. She stood before me begging me not to hurt our friend's feelings...but how long could we avoid the truth. If it happened once, it could happen again.

I met Demi's watering eyes and nodded once.

"Fine, but I'll kick his ass if it happens again and it won't be Adam to the rescue this time," I threatened.

Demi let out a sigh and appeared to be relieved. She pushed past me, shoving open their giant rod iron front door.

It opened to show Lissa and Jake sitting on the couch being the lovebirds that they are.

Dick.

I walked inside, breathing slightly harder than normal at the exertion it caused just to get up the stairs in my state.

"No Name," I froze. I felt my face flame a deep crimson red. Thoughts of the dream flooding back to my mind and Olivia's face laughing, mocking me.

"Shit," I blurt out.
