“When bricks, towers and guns fail to protect you,
you turn to the water.
Shimmering blue inviting you in, promising to keep you safe - carry you to the other side where everything's much better. But water lies, it swallow you up hungrily when the first opportunity strikes. And when your country's serenity is lost where shall you turn?
Syrians are living a nightmare they can't wake up from. Injustice inhabiting their land refusing to get out.”

Water,
Flowed, ebbed, restless,
Long strides of blue against marigold sand,
With hell breaking loose in his country,
the river was where he seeked a runaway.

Waves cradling his tiny form gently,
Travelling gracefully with him secured on its back,
Thwashing wild approaching shore,
Blissful– ''There my baby you've finally reached safe
A peaceful land, where your childhood can be renewed.

Too bad he can't smile back,
For during the consuming swim ,
Liveliness kept seeping out his heart,
Plumped lips turning the blue of a bruise,
And his mini figure got tired from fighting back.

He's just a three-year old
Whose country embraced by wars,
Home inhabited by fright ,
And that one time he jumped for calm,
his breath was gone for good.
