Flashback:

I put my hands on my knees. I stopped hearing footsteps, I was safe. In all the rush, I hadn't  checked where I had landed. When I looked around the room I saw the green zombie liquid they were trying to kill us all. We were just toys for them.

 I needed it to stop.

I grabbed a knife from the table and cut my wrist to squeeze out the blood. I grabbed my hand and placed it on the green substance, letting my blood flow. I hope this will work. I prayed.

The liquid quickly turned red instead of green and the problem was I was bleeding.

I grabbed a rag and tied it around my wound. I opened the door looking back and forth down the hallway.

Check to see if anyone was there. After specifying that there was no one. I took small steps out of the room to my bedroom. I had to be quiet. Suddenly I stepped on a vase and it crashed down. I was dead.

I ran down the hall to my room without anyone seeing me. As I was scared and afraid of my life and needed to survive for my parents, my family members all needed me so that I could lift them out of poverty and provide them with food, clothing, shelter and all other necessities. I was there only for hope.

I dropped into bed tomorrow won't be a good day as they might find out who was running down the hall in the middle of the night. I hope no one saw me.

I woke up early due to an alarm. I knew this would happen. They would do a security check. As they saw someone running down the hall. I could be caught. I grabbed my hand and wrapped it in gauze and put on a big overcoat and walked out.

The guards had everyone lined up.

Then a man came out of a large door leading to the auditorium. We were all handcuffed and there was a group of two guards behind each of us. The man whose name I assume was a merchant like what I saw on a badge on his white coat.

"Hello everyone. You may be wondering why I called you today. The reason is that yesterday someone sneaked in during the night."

At that time, the big screen turned on and showed a person running and it was me, but my face was not clear, it was dark.

"And luckily the culprit left us a clue. He was injured on the run and we found drops of blood in the hallway.

What if they caught me. I was shaking with fear. Then the merchant called me. I knew he was the only one wearing an overcoat.

"Well hello. I see you are the only one who wears a coat during the summer and why is that so"

Bingo! He had to be right-handed, I was doomed. I couldn't stutter, I needed to speak with confidence so they wouldn't suspect a thing.

"I'm just cold all of a sudden"

I said boldly

Right now we were looking into each other's eyes. No one wanted to give up eye contact, no one wanted to be called a loser. Finally, Mercher gave up. His eyes were red staring at me for so long.

"Now aren't you a good boy? Take off your overcoat, I don't want no excuses"

I was afraid if I got caught, I would be dead. Slowly, I took off my coat.

He gave a sudden cry when he saw my gauze.

"Look who we got here now, how did it go"

"Yesterday morning, I cut my hand by mistake. I bruised myself.

"And how did it go?"

I needed to think fast. Ahh yes "We had kitchen chores and I cut my hand during the afternoon""Okay, let's see if the wound is fresh or dry. If your wound is dry, you're safe. If it's fresh, it pretends you're the person who did all the damage the other day.

He grabbed a knife from one of the guards and cut the gauze in half.

And he was smiling at me. Now I was afraid. He saw that on my face it had to be dry. HE opened my gauze which was cut in two halves, then

And the sequel will continue in the next story..........
