Today we're introducing a way for readers to earn Coins through watching video ads.

When you redeem Coins to unlock Paid Stories you are directly supporting the writers who create the stories we all love. Now you can get Coins in two ways.

To unlock Paid Stories you can purchase Coin packs in the Coin shop and select a Coin pack that works best for the way you would like to read - unlocking by chapter or binging on the entire story. You can now also earn Coins to read Paid Stories.

Today we're introducing a way for readers to earn Coins through watching video ads. We'll be launching this feature to all Wattpadders in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Hong Kong, Japan, Qatar, and South Korea.

Starting December 5, 2019  readers in Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland can also earn Coins to unlock Paid Stories. 

Why are we launching this way? Our goal is to make Paid Stories accessible to Wattpadders. We're introducing one way for readers to earn Coins while ensuring writers earn money for their Paid Stories. Launching the feature to a small group of countries helps us better understand how readers interact with it before rolling it out to the entire community. The goal of Paid Stories is for the community to support writers, and it is important that the feature meets this objective in each country it is introduced to.

We will be introducing the feature to additional countries slowly to ensure readers and writers can benefit.

The legal requirements for advertisements are different for each country and we are working to ensure we meet all requirements for the countries we introduce this feature to.

To earn Coins visit the Coin Shop in the Wattpad iOS and Android app. You can get here by tapping on the wallet on your profile. Next click on the Earn tab. If an ad is available tap on the "Watch an ad" button. When the ad is complete a Coin will be added to your wallet.
