Dancing In The Rain

On our way back to Pedri's apartment, it started raining with small and gentle drops. I took my hand out my pocket and held it out.

'It's starting to rain.' I smiled.

For as long as I can remember, I've loved the rain. The sound, the smell, the way it softens the outlines of things and the world becomes softly blurred. People hate the rain without realising that it's a necessity and helps other things grow. The rain also makes you appreciate the sun and the warmth. The rain is all things beautiful and people tend to forget that. I love the way the raindrops fall on my skin, brining me a sense of inner peace. Tears from the sky washing away all the pain and all the sorrow. For me, rain makes things even more beautiful than before; after all, it takes a little rain to see a rainbow.

Pedri's POV:

Irina stopped in her tracks, extending her hand out to the rain. Her head was tilted back, her eyes closed while a big smile was plastered across her face.

I never liked the rain. The idea of your plans being ruined because of a change in the weather, the dark clouds covering the stars or the beautiful blue sky, the cold touch of the raindrops on your skin...

But looking at her... seeing the way her body relaxed at the touch of the raindrops made me adore it.

Because I adored her.

Irina was beautiful. But not like those girls in the magazines who make you crave them because of their looks. She was beautiful, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful, for her ability to make people smile and laugh. She was beautiful, for the ability of seeing the beauty of things; things that people disregarded. She wasn't beautiful for something as trivial and temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul.

A smile growing on my face, I stepped in front of her, extending my hand out.

'May I?' I asked.

Her eyes opened, a confused expression taking over her face. 'What?' she asked as she placed her hand into mine.

Irina's POV:

I placed my hand into Pedri's hand, a confused expression on my face. He dragged me closer to him, his other hand placed on my waist. We started moving to the sound of the rain, twirling me around and laughing as we danced.

While we were slow dancing, the rain became heavier.

'Let's go!' Pedri grabbed my hand, trying to drag me after him. 'We're going to get sick.'

'Just wait a second.' I laughed, grabbing him back to me.

We were once again face to face, our faces inches apart.

'Naked truth?' he asked.

'Naked truth.' I nodded my head.

'This is the longest I've ever been outside in the rain.' he chuckled.

'What?' I asked confused. 'I used to do this all the time with my little sister back home.' I smiled. 'Take a deep breath and follow my lead.' Pedri nodded his head.

I closed my eyes and tiled my head back, my hands grabbing on to his, our fingers tangled.

Pedri's POV:

She tangled her fingers with mine, throwing her head back once again.

'Take a deep breath and then exhale.' she said, her eyes closed.

I followed her lead, closing my eyes and tilting my head towards the pouring sky. We stayed like that in silence for a few moments.

I might really get used to this. The only sound being the raindrops dropping from the sky, everything else quiet like they were afraid.

We opened our eyes, mine meeting hers, both of us smiling.

'How do you feel?' she asked.

'Wet.' I laughed while she hit me playfully. 'At peace.' I said softly.

Our faces were inches apart, so close that I could feel her warm breath against my lips.

Irina's POV:

His nose is touching mine and I can feel the tip of his lips on mine, causing an electrifying sensation. We were staring into eachother's eyes, neither one of us saying anything.

He smiled a little, a whisper escaping his lips. 'Please don't be mad at me.'

'Why woul—'

Without being able to finish my sentence, his lips met mine. The warm and soft feeling of them sends a shiver down my spine while I placed my hand on the back of his head.

He kisses me gently at the beginning as if he wants to slowly approach the hazardous waters, but when he notices that I'm not resisting; and actually kissing him back, he moves his lips with a little more pressure on mine.

I've closed my eyes a long time ago, but I'm sure he had closed his too, the only thing that gives us orientation in the darkness caused by our eyelids, are the other one's soft lips.

Pedri's POV:

A deep groan climbed out of my throat, overwhelmed with the sensation of feeling her after all these months of waiting.

I kissed her because she was funny and sweet... different from all the other girls and I wanted a taste of that.

We pulled away from eachother, our foreheads touching as we caught our breath.

'Well, fuck...' I muttered, making her chuckle while she threw her head back, covering her face with her hands.
