Y/N was one of Naruto's friends when they were little. And continued to be his friend as they got older. He always battled with Sasuke over his sister.

"Y/N doesn't even like you!" Sasuke would growl when they were little. "She just feels sorry for you." Those words would crush Naruto's heart. Y/N would always shake her head frustrated with both boys.

"You both are my favorite guys." Y/N would grin, even though in her heart she was always thinking of Naruto.

"Y/N-Chan." Naruto smiled at her before she went to her own house with Sasuke. "Please don't ever leave me." Naruto would grin at her just as he had when he was little. And Y/N would laugh.

"I'm never gonna leave you Naruto, I promise." Y/N would grin. As Naruto said bye, she retreated inside the quiet apartment she shared with Sasuke. He had a dark look on his face, and she could tell he was different tonight.

"Sasuke?" Y/N frowned as she approached him. He was angry.

"Y/N," Sasuke stared at her. "I'm leaving, and your coming with me."

Y/N's entire world shattered before her. She noticed Sasuke's already packed bag by the door. Y/N's eyes widened.

"But-but brother." Y/N was so confused. She just wanted to go to sleep after a long day.

"We're going to go to Orochimaru's hideout." Sasuke explained as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "We're going to get stronger so we can get our revenge on Itachi." Sasuke growled.

Y/N whimpered. Her eyes showed immedient hesitation. "But Sasuke if we do that, we'll leave everyone we love." Y/N whimpered.

Sasuke shook his head. "We don't love anyone Y/N."

Y/N instantly thought of her friends Sakura and Ino, and the biggest face that flew into her mind was Naruto. Naruto who always stuck up for her, who always fed her ramen and played with her when everyone was afraid of her. "Sasuke I-!"

"Enough. You know we have to get revenge on Itachi." Sasuke growled. He pointed to her room. "Go pack now. I'm just going to pack more food." Sasuke turned and left her as she ran into her room crying. She couldn't disobey her brother.

Y/N didn't want to admit it, but she didn't care about Itachi and Sasuke's ruthless path for revenge. Nevertheless Y/N packed as much as she could grab into her backpack.  Her hands lingered on a picture by her bedside. It was a picture of her and Naruto, hugging in a sandbox just a year or so ago.

Y/N packed it, along with a few clothes and essentials and joined Sasuke in the living room. Y/N was wearing her coat and Sasuke his.

"We're gonna get stronger sister." Sasuke whispered in her ear, and took her hand. He lead her out of the apartment as they walked together in silence down the path to exit the village. They ran into two figures quickly.

Naruto and Sakura were there talking, but raised eyes at the two siblings with packed bags. Sakura immediately begged Sasuke to put the bag down, Naruto leapt to Y/N as she whimpered in forgiveness.

"Why?" Sakura whimpered as Naruto tugged on Y/N's arm.

"Where are you going. Please don't leave the village." Naruto begged. "You promised not to leave me." Naruto cried.

Y/N gulped and apologized a thousand times over in her head. She distracted Naruto as Sasuke immobilized the two of them with a harmless poison dart. Naruto looked betrayed as he slowly fell asleep. Y/N frowned with sadness.

"I'm sorry Naruto-kun." Y/N laid him down softly.  "I will return." Y/N kissed his cheek as she followed Sasuke to the gates. Her heart broke as she realized she had truly given everything up.

Sasuke squeezed her hand tightly, a silent apology on his face. She nodded to him as they continued their path to becoming rogue ninja.

Y/N would follow Sasuke to the end of the earth, her last remaining family was more important to her then her own wants. All Y/N wanted to do was stay in the village with her friends and brother.

She would cry every night until she would reunite with her friends again. When life particularly bad, she would pull out that picture of her and Naruto in the sandbox, and wish things were as normal as that picture.
