Age 16: After Sasuke's Release

Sasuke frowned when a knock sounded on his apartment door. He was looking forward to his first peace and quiet after a long few months. He opened the door, fully expecting Sakura to sneak upon him. He paused, his mouth slightly dry as his eyes set on Y/N. She was smiling, her hair in a cute updo as she looked around the hall.

"What are you doing here?" He chanced a look in the mirror to make sure his face was as stoic as always. Y/N smiled.

"I got tired of waiting." She grinned. "I've been waiting months for my first date with you." Sasuke's eyes widened and he took a step back. They had talked about it while he was in jail for sure, but he didn't expect it to be soon. "Im sorry, I know this is sudden." Y/N mumbled shyly. "It's been months since we've got alone time." She was blushing hard.

Sasuke sucked his teeth and looked away from her, his own cheeks starting to pink. "Listen I know, we promised once I got out we'd do a lot of things." He mumbled, looking facing away from her. She smiled with a nod.

"I know you said you wanted to relax a bit." Y/N brushed her head behind her ear, revealing her pinked cheeks. "Naruto and I decided we should both go on our last dates. I'm supposed to talk to Hinata tomorrow to tell her I'm breaking up with Naruto." Y/N smiled, ignoring the dull ache in her chest.

"Oh." Sasuke muttered. "And you'll be known as two friends. The plan is fine.." Sasuke drifted off, a slight pain also in his chest. "How are you doing?" He asked her. She smiled brightly.

"So much better. Shikamaru escorted me to the grave sight the other day." Y/N mumbled, looking away to stare at the nearby lake. Sasuke sighed and leaned across the doorway. She smiled. "Itachi was a great man."

"..." Sasuke nodded, a longing look on his face. Y/N smiled as he leaned his chin on her head. She instinctively wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Do you know how long I've waited to hold you this way?" Sasuke muttered against her head. He reached down and picked her up bridal style. He kicked the door shut behind her and walked her deeper into the house, ignoring her blushing smiles.

"Sasuke really?" She giggled as he turned with her. It had been months until he could touch her again. He had never missed her or the dobe more. They visited him nearly everyday, but he wasn't allowed out of his cage nor was he allowed to remove his blindfolds.

"You've matured so well." He murmured as he placed her down on the bed, gently laying her flat. She covered her face quickly, trying to hide her blush. "Such beautiful things weren't meant for me." Sasuke said aloud as he sat next to her. He reached out and grabbed her wrists to pull them away, revealing her smiling face.

"Such a flirt." Y/N blushed. "Has Sakura visited you yet?" Y/N murmed as Sasuke rolled his eyes.

"If she did, I never answered the door." Sasuke held her hand, giving it a small squeeze. "You don't get to come here looking so angelic and leave the same way." Sasuke muttered aloud. She smiled.

"Have you thought of a good first date idea?" Y/N asked aloud. Sasuke nodded.

"We should go out with the dobe and get ramen, I'm sure he'll appreciate it." Sasuke let go of her, not even noticing her crestfallen face as he stood up. He walked over to his closet to begin looking for new clothes.

"Actually, Naruto is busy tonight. It's why I came to you." She smiled. "He's supposed to be training with Hinata. I figured we could have our first date alone.. just the two of us." Y/N added with a smile.

Sasuke froze, but quickly covered it up. He had been alone with Y/N a lot of times. However, that had been before they had confessed their feelings. There were very specific time slots for visitors, and Sasuke hadn't seen the two alone in a long time.

"It's not that I don't know what you like." Sasuke frowned to himself, continuing to look for a shirt. "I'm just worried that I won't be like that dobe." Sasuke muttered, making Y/N smile. Sasuke was always self conscious of how close Naruto and Y/N had been.

"Just be yourself and I bet you'll impress me" Y/N smiled eagerly. Sasuke sighed and turned around with a nod.

"I'm guessing by the fact you came by yourself that you're ready for our first date." Sasuke mumbled aloud. Y/N nodded, adjusting her coat.

"Give me a minute." Sasuke sighed but nodded. She grinned and left the room, allowing him to dress.

"You're lying." Y/N laughed aloud as sat elbow to elbow at the ramen shop. Sasuke was eagerly telling the story of a time that he and Naruto were handcuffed together. "You really couldn't get free?"

"Not at all." Sasuke chuckled. "Not without destroying the surrounding area." Y/N laughed at the thought of a time not so far ago.

"So Sasuke, I'm supposed to ask you this question." Y/N mumbled, leaning over her bowl of ramen. He gave her his whole attention, a sparkle that was in his eyes the whole time seemingly giving her strength. "And you're not supposed to laugh."

"I could try. I have a habit of laughing at losers however." Sasuke chuckled as she giggled into her soup again. "Go ahead I won't press you." He hit her shoulder gently. She smiled eagerly.

"What would you do if I wasn't a virgin?" Y/N started. Sasuke cocked an eyebrow.

"You've been with that dobe for years, and now for 6 months as adults." Sasuke huffed. "I'd be ashamed of him if he didn't actually tap that."

Y/N's cheeks burned at Sasuke's vulgarity. However she giggled.

"Yeah, Naruto and I both have before. I'm sure all of our neighbors know the secrets." She ended with a whisper, making Sasuke snort. "I'm talking about before Naruto." She smiled.

Sasuke blinked. "You were with someone in bed for us?" He questioned aloud. Sasuke watched as she nodded.

"A good friend." She smiled , tucking a hand behind her neck "It happened after my.. not so willing to leave virginity happened." She mumbled shyly. Sasuke felt his chest ring again, his eyes going dark.

"Don't worry." Y/N laid her head on Sasuke's shoulder. "Everything is gonna be okay." Y/N smiled. "You and Naruto are my life now." She smiled bigger when Sasuke hugged her suddenly. He placed her head on his chest and stayed quiet. Sasuke was visibly angry, but softened at her love confession.

"It's gonna be okay, little friend." Sasuke whispered in her ear. Y/N nodded, her eyes slightly wet.

"Yeah." She agreed with a smile. "Don't you dare let go."

Age 5 (Before the Uchiha Massacre)

"Don't you dare let go!" Y/N called out, swinging her little feet back and forth. She was hanging off the tree branch, having scurried up it as high as she could. Sasuke was in front of her with a tense face. There was a ninja beast beneath them, looking up at the two with a scary look on its face. Y/N was hanging in mid air, her hand tightly clasped by Sasuke's as he hugged onto the tree for dear life.

"I've got you." Sasuke promised. The beast below them with teeth was snarling, making Y/N scream for help. It continuously bashed its head against the trunk of the tree, making it shake. "Y/N grab on." Sasuke commanded her. She gulped and reached her small hand out for the surrounding branch.

"I've got it!" She yelled out as she swung onto it, tightly gripping the branch. She whimpered as Sasuke scurried on top of her branch, pulling her from the back of her shirt. She suddenly let out a scream as the branch they were both standing on broke, the two of them fearful as they slid downwards. Sasuke landed on the bottom branch, catching Y/N bridal style. He blushed as she clutched him tightly, burying her face into his neck.

He used one hand to brace himself against the trunk, lifting his neck away from her as she looked up at him with a scared face. "We're too cute to be eating Sasuke." She muttered aloud, making Sasuke roll his eyes playfully.

"Don't be a loser, grab on." Sasuke guided her onto the branch, the two of them holding on tightly. "If we just stay still he'll go away."

"Where's Naruto?" She bit her lip, looking around worriedly. "It's too dangerous out here alone." Y/N tightened her grip, but felt her hands start to sweat. She looked nervous as the beast sniffed upwards. "I knew we shouldn't have had a picnic in this forest." She frowned.

Y/N, Sasuke and Naruto had gone off to have a picnic by the flower patch. This particular stretch of woods was forbidden, but was extremely quiet. Naruto had been fishing last time they had seen him, and Sasuke and Y/N had wandered off to collect firewood. After that they had been chased by a monster.

"I think I can get over there." Y/N tilted her head to the neighboring tree. It was bigger and stronger, but required a small jump. Sasuke immediately shook his head. "Sasuke I can do this."

"We can't risk it. Let's just wait until Naruto comes back with help." Sasuke muttered. The tree swayed again, this time the sound of cracking occurred. The two of them shared a horrified look.

"We don't have time. It's do or die." She said with a brave face. Sasuke shook his head at her.

"If we just be quiet, Y/N-! No!" Sasuke yelled at her as she turned and ran, her arms thrown out to balance the best she could. She ran in a straight line and then jumped, her pigtails moving as she flew across the air. Y/N collided with the thick trunk, her little hands clawing to stay upright as she swayed with the branches. "You idiot!" Sasuke cried out, worried in his eyes as she let out a relieved laugh.

"I'm okay." She called out, hooking her foot against the branch she was holding onto. Sasuke made a determined face, watching her climb and roll onto the thick branch. She looked happy as he made to run, her butt firmly planted on the branch. "Sasuke!" He paused, frozen in shock as the oil lighter she had dropped when they climbed broke. A fire broke out underneath the tree, making her wince at the sudden smoke.

"I'm coming." Sasuke took a deep breath, summoning all the courage in his stomach. He ran forward, balancing just as she did. He took a large leap, wrapping his arms around her as they went spinning around. Y/N screamed as she went flying off the branch, spinning around as Sasuke had learned in technique. Being so high up, the two of them hit the ground with a deafening smack, rolling shoulder to shoulder as Sasuke ended up on top of her, all the breath knocked out of him as he tried to breathe.

Y/N whimpered in pain, but screamed at the deafening growl. Sasuke spun around and threw his arms out, guarding her from the impending threat. He kept his eyes open, watching as the long haired monster neared them slowly. "Do you still have your kunai?!" Sasuke suddenly called out. Y/N nodded, ripping it from her dress to hand to him.

Sasuke held the pointed end out towards the animal, his eyes narrowed as he tried not to panic. Y/N held onto him afraid. "Run now, I'll kill it." Sasuke commanded. Y/N shook her head no.

"I'm not going anywhere." She frowned. Sasuke glared at her, but there was no time. The animal reared back, about to pounce. Every ounce of fear twanged in both of their bones, Sasuke refusing to move. Y/N grabbed the back of Sasuke's shirt as they stared at the oncoming threat. Just as the animal let go and pounced, they both jumped back in fear at the resounding sight.

An arrow went into its head, bringing it down immediately. Sasuke lowered the kunai, immediately recognizing the arrow. "Nii-San!" He called out, a breath of relief in his voice as Itachi entered the clearing. He lowered his bow, a small smile on his lips.

"I thought I heard your voice out here." Itachi smirked, straightening up. "I didn't mean to steal your girlfriend." Sasuke looked at Y/N who was staring at Itachi with a star in her eyes.

"Hey!" Sasuke yelled at her, making her clear her head quickly. She sheepishly smiled.

"Thanks for saving us, Sasuke's big brother." She smiled kindly. "Did you see Naruto-kun?" Not even a second later Naruto went running up and down the bushes, running straight into Y/N.

"That teme kept you safe!" Naruto excitedly noted, making Itachi snort.

"Are you sharing a girlfriend's, little brother?" Itachi questioned him as he came closer, making Sasuke burn red.

"Y/N is my friend." Sasuke frowned, making Y/N smile at him.

"Naruto-kun is my boyfriend." Y/N explained to Itachi, who nodded kindly to her. "And Sasuke-kun is my best friend." She kissed Sasuke's cheek, making the boy blush even harder.

"Stop it Nii-San!" Sasuke frowned at him, his cheeks tinted. Y/N laughed and hugged Sasuke around the neck. Itachi smiled at them gently, making Sasuke huff and puff his cheeks.

"Cute little brother, real cute."

"Naruto!" Y/N called out loudly, a frown on her face. Sasuke and her were walking around, the two of them cold but worried on their faces.

"Naruto!" Sasuke called out, the two of them looking around the courtside. They were outside looking, the cold air piercing their skin.

"Oh god!" Y/N screamed as the air was knocked out of her, her feet swaying off the floor nearly as strong arms wrapped around her. Sasuke was also knocked back, but his eyes narrowed in anger.

"You stupid..inconsiderate.. Horrible..." Sasuke growled as he repeatedly hit Naruto over the head. Naruto laughed aloud as Y/N did the same, tears flying down her face as she hit him over the head.

"I'm sorry I got held up!" Naruto chuckled loudly as he stepped away from them, rubbing his head painfully. "I found some clues with Ko. I'm sorry, a lot of weird things happened today." Naruto smiled as Sasuke narrowed his eyes at the dobe.

"We're sitting here worried and you're probably getting ramen." Sasuke huffed. Naruto chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

"I discovered a body." Naruto explained, making Sasuke and Y/N pause quickly. "I found the strange guy you saw, and I interrogated him for a minute." Naruto yawned, stretching upwards. "He was weird, but he told me he was a good guy actually." Naruto frowned.

Sasuke laughed aloud. "And you actually believed him?!"

"He said he was investigating the murder too!" Naruto huffed. "He told me a lot of valuable information." Naruto frowned. "I'm sorry." He added at Y/N.

"Do you really trust him Naruto?" Y/N frowned. "If so I'll trust him too." Sasuke sputtered.

"You will not! Not until I meet him." Sasuke frowned. "Dobe, what did you find out?" Sasuke questioned with a frown. Naruto's belly growled, making the three of them chuckle lightly.

"Well it may be a trap." Naruto frowned, rubbing his chin. "And it's not like I want to believe it."

"Just tell me dobe." Sasuke frowned.

"He said to be careful with the people we surround each other." Naruto frowned. "He talked alot like a riddler would. He was very.."

"He's afraid of us." Y/n smiled. "He's not a ninja, but he's smart. I could feel the murderous intent from within him. "The people we surround ourselves with?" Y/N mumbled with a frown.

Naruto nodded, his eyes on Sasuke. "You be careful tomorrow, and if Nagi makes any moves..."

Sasuke sputtered. "The kid? He suspects our kid?" Sasuke looked at Y/N who raised an eyebrow at him. Naruto and her sweatdropped. "What?!"

"You said OUR kid." Y/N smirked.

Sasuke immediately sweatdropped. "Oh.. I mean THE kid!" He corrected himself quickly, feeling heat rush to his cheeks. "There's no way." Sasuke added, a stubbornness in his eyes. Y/N nodded.

"Nagi is the one he thinks is running around murdering people?" Y/N frowned. Naruto shook his head no quickly.

"No! He didn't say that." Naruto bit his lip. "He said something along the lines of being careful around the kids, as in general." Naruto sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "He said he didn't know for sure what, but he wanted to talk to Nagi personally."

"No way." Sasuke said quickly. "I'm still very suspicious of this person." Naruto nodded.

"Me too. We have to be careful, we need to keep him from the kids." Naruto frowned. "I think he's his next target."

"Nagi and Ko?" Y/N frowned, a hand on her chest. Naruto nodded.

"He didn't talk like a good guy." Naruto frowned, crossing his arms in front of him. "He talked as if he didn't care what happened, but he definitely is creepy. He gave me a name though." Naruto pursed his lips. Sasuke narrowed his eyes.

"What is it?" He asked. "What do I call this prick?"

"N." Naruto frowned. "Be careful, everyone I saw on my way over..." Naruto bit his lip. Sasuke frowned. "Listen, when you and Nagi go out, you watch your back and his." This put all of them on edge, Naruto's eyes firming. "Just look at how much this place has changed."

Y/N noticed it immediately as she looked around. There were no villagers on the street. There was a creepy atmosphere, almost as if a curfew existed. The lights shone for no one in sight, that which should have been a popular atmosphere.

"Are you asking me to interrogate him, to suspect him?" Sasuke asked. Naruto shrugged.

"I don't know. I think that guy claiming to be good is a suspect." Naruto frowned. Y/N looked at Sasuke firmly.

"You protect him okay? If that man is after him, he might try something tomorrow. I don't know if we should believe in Nagi, but he hasn't done anything wrong to us so far." Y/N frowned. Sasuke sighed and nodded.

"Leave it to me." Sasuke then turned with his cape swooping as the two of them following him back to the hotel, a heavy air in the air.
