"Please just tell me." Y/N begged slightly, her big eyes blinking at Naruto. Naruto smiled.

"Okay, okay." He gave up on her constant pleading, knowing she got it from her mother's stubbornness. Y/N had followed him into his office with Boruto, away from Hinata's knowing ears.

"Come on dad, whatever it is we'll keep a secret." Boruto smirked, holding Y/N by the small of her back. She was pouting at Naruto again.

"Okay, alright I'll tell you.  I can't tell you too much." Naruto sighed, leaning back into his chair.

"Your mother lived here until she was five." Naruto sighed, making Y/N gasp. She knew her mother had an attachment to the village. "She had two friends she always talked to, and trained together." Naruto pursed his lips as he looked at the wall.

"You and Uchiha-San." Y/N smiled. Naruto nodded.

"Back then, Sasuke and I hated each other. She was always trying to make us talk together." Naruto rolled his eyes gently but laughed. "It didn't work, we needed to mature way more."

"Where did she go when she was five?" Y/N leaned against Boruto gently, making him smile down at her.

"I don't know." Naruto frowned. "She left a week before the Uchiha massacre. I only know where she ended up."

"She was probably in our clan's castle." Y/N smiled. Naruto shrugged.

"I don't think so. Sasuke met her again when we were 13, like you kids." Naruto grinned. "It wasn't good though, they stayed in Orochimaru's hideout together. They formed a different bond then they had before, because of the darkness."

Y/N looked at Boruto worried. Her mother always warned her to stay away from Orochimaru, even in his changed ways he still was tampering with darkness. Boruto patted her head gently.

"So she's as good a ninja as Uncle Sasuke?" Boruto wondered. Naruto nodded.

"They only had each other for three years, I didn't understand it much myself. Why she left I mean.." Naruto bit his lip. "My guess is she fell in love."

"Why did she leave the hideout?" Y/N wondered aloud, making Boruto nod.

"After three years, when Sasuke finally 'killed' Orochimaru and they disbanded from the hideout, he offered for your mother to come with him. However, she told him goodbye and headed back to me." Naruto smiled gently. Y/N raised her eyebrows.

"Momma is so complicated." She pouted in thought.

"She stayed at the village again, helped us defend it. M/N was sneaking behind everyone to meet this certain boy however." Naruto wiggled his eyebrows at Y/N, who was giggling now.

"My papa." She looked towards Boruto.  "He'd like you. Momma says you both are kinda silly when you want to be." Y/N smiled proudly at Boruto, who was smirking.

"M/N was defiant, we tried to tell her no." Naruto smiled. "But she kept trying to talk him into leaving the Akatsuki and joining us. However, he was too prideful." Naruto added sadly. "I supported your mother, and helped her to go see him one last time."

"But.." Y/N whispered, her hands clutching Boruto's shoulder tightly.

"Sasuke arrived, things weren't pretty. We were all arguing." Naruto sighed and hesitated.

"Please don't stop now!" Y/N begged, Boruto as well.

"Come on old man, it's just getting good!" Boruto pleaded.

"And then Sasuke challenged your father for your mother's love." Naruto looked embarrassed, as Y/N stood angrily.

"I knew it!" She cried out.

"Wait!" Naruto stopped her in her tracks. "She denied him. Loosing your father made her numb, made her very cold." Naruto sighed. "Sasuke and I had to practically force her to get help, she was in a very bad spot when the war hit off." Naruto frowned, remembering the past.

"She was always a soldier. Now she was a broken mother with two idiots and nothing." Naruto grinned. "But Sasuke never gave up finding her family, and she was invited back to her clan as a princess. She lived with me at my apartment, before and after the war." Naruto looked towards the door, nervous. "Hinata was always jealous but Y/N was never interested in anyone but your father." Naruto smiled at Y/N. She nodded.

"Momma is very loyal. Even with him dead." Y/N sighed.

"Well, she eventually wanted nothing to do with Sasuke. He just kept pushing so much." Naruto frowned. "I still got her letters and pictures, and had to share them with Teme. She wouldn't open the door for him, when she visited she never spoke with him. She was cold." Naruto smiled.

"In my clan, women aren't allowed to leave the village unless it's a mission or permanent." Y/N smiled. "So it must have been important to her to see and talk to you." Y/N said gently, making Naruto nod.

"I tried to tell Teme, if he just left her alone she would see how well he meant. He really did a lot for her. He was there for the first two years of your birth with her." Naruto smiled. "He traveled and helped, until your mother eventually couldn't stand him pleading anymore."

Y/N frowned, feeling pity for Uchiha-San. "He wanted to marry her.." She said to Boruto, who was lost.

"Teme just never understood her. Even now, I mean many girls would be happy to have him." Naruto smirked. "He just can't stand that the one girl he wanted DOESN'T want him back."

"But what about Sarada's mother." Y/N frowned. Boruto grimaced.

"That's kinda cruel." Boruto thought aloud. "He had Sarada to revive his dying clan, and then left again in pursuit of your mom." Boruto shook his head. "Sarada would be crushed.

"That's not exactly true." Naruto glared at his son. "Sasuke tried to move on, to have peace. Kami knows he deserved it."

"But he could never forget my momma." Y/N smiled sadly. Her mother was happy being alone, that she knew.

"Yes." Naruto sighed. "The reason he is there, and that she and you came back, is because someone bad is tracking your mother." Naruto fixed the two kids with a cold glare as they gasped. "You both are not to tell anyone. They could attack at any time, most likely tonight."

"Who is hunting Y/N-Chan's momma?" Boruto whispered as Y/N started to shake with worry.

"She has many enemies." Y/N whispered. "She told me that from the war."

"Sadly yes, but this one is new. They are extremely strong, and come from the moon. Sasuke won't let anything happen to her." Naruto promised, watching as Boruto wrapped an arm around her shaking shoulders.

"My momma..Does she know?" Y/N whispered in fears. Naruto nodded.

"It's why she's here, to save your village. The Leaf will handle this. Sasuke has been tracking them for a long time." Naruto sighed. "They'll come for her tonight."

"Oh no." Y/N whispered. Boruto shushed her gently.

"Calm down Y/N-Chan, I'm sure they have a plan." Boruto chided her.

"Sasuke and Y/N will be at the ball, they're going to confront the enemy head on." Naruto sighed. "Sakura already knows and won't react."

"Oh." Y/N blushed. "Does she know that her husband likes my momma?" Y/N blushed.

"Yea." Naruto nodded

"Does she know that her husband is probably trying to seduce my momma now?" Y/N said gently.

"Yep." Naruto nodded.

"Why is she okay with this?!" Y/N huffed  "I wouldn't be!"

"It's because M/N-Chan is her friend, and she trusts her." Naruto declared. "M/N-Chan doesn't like Sasuke back." Naruto sighed. "You don't think we don't trust our friends?" Naruto crossed his arms. "Your mother lived with me, had her baby in my bedroom, and Hinata never even batted an eye." Naruto said, making Y/N blush.

"Family is very important to momma." Y/N smiled. Naruto nodded.

"Exactly, now do I have to answer any more questions?" Naruto pleaded.

"Nope." Y/N smiled. "Come on Boruto, let's leave early."

"You're not worried anymore Kat?" Boruto copied her mother's nickname.

"Don't underestimate my momma. My clan is so strong." Y/N smiled. "And I want to dance with you before all hell breaks loose."

Boruto smiled greatly.

..........................................

Music twisted around the ball, Y/N's arm wrapped around Boruto's neck. His hands were at her waist as they swayed, looking around the ballroom.

"Your momma is so pretty." Boruto watched her dance with Sarada's mother, the two of them whispering between them as they danced. "They're probably anxious about the mission."

"Your dad says these people are very strong."

"I'm aware." Y/N smiled. "My momma is even stronger." She watched as Sarada's mom twirled her mother around, and passed her to her own husband.

"Do you hate him?" Boruto whispered in her own ear as her mother smiled up at Uchiha-San. "Do you think she likes him just a little bit?"

"Yes." Y/N giggled. "But momma is too prideful to admit it. I don't hate him." Y/N kissed Boruto's cheek. "You should lay off on your papa. You're lucky to have such a nice one." Y/N twirled slowly in Boruto's arms.

"Sarada!" Boruto grinned as Sarada finally came. "Let's dance." Y/N smiled and stepped back, allowing the two family friends to dance together.

"My turn with you next Y/N-Chan." Sarada teased her, as Y/N slowly walked over to where her mother had her shoulder on Uchina-San's chest.

"Momma." Y/N lifted her arms up. Her mother lifted her head up slightly, Sasuke and her staring at her. "I think you should do what you want momma."

"What are you talking about?" Sasuke questioned her at the child's mischievous grin.

"What do I want?" Momma wondered.

"I think you should take Uchiha-San outside and make out with him in the bushes." Y/N smiled and hugged his leg. Her mother grew bright red.

"Katsu!" Her mother cried out in embarrassment as she lurched away from Sasuke. "I would never do that. How many times do I have to tell you we're just friends." Her mother pleaded with her. Sasuke cleared his throat.

"You're not happily married, and you're tired of being a single momma". Y/N pushed both of them towards the exit door. "You have to man up and take what you want momma. I heard from Uncle Naruto that you like bushes."

"But-! Sasuke!" Sasuke immediately took her by the waist with a naughty smirk on his face, dragging her outside.

"You are so bad." Boruto chuckled in her ear, pulling her against his chest.

"Momma has been single for way too long. She needs to live a little." Y/N rolled her eyes.

"Can I get a kiss?" Boruto whined, pursing his lips.

"Maybe." Y/N grinned. She gently pulled forward, tilting her chin up to meet with his lips.

Just before they met, every single window in the ballroom was blasted open, glass shattering everywhere from the force of the explosions. "Momma." Y/n sighed.

"She'll be okay." Boruto declared, looking around. "She has my papa and Uncle Sasuke with her."

"What?!" Y/N looked at Boruto's father's post, but he was missing. He did say it was extremely strong." Y/N frowned.

"Come on Y/N-Chan, let's let the adults handle this." Boruto pulled her hand away as Y/N ripped hers back.

"Momma!" She cried as she went running through the bodies of people, a strong arm grasping her.

"Y/N-Chan no!" Sarada warned her. "It's not gonna be pretty out there. The hokage warned everyone to stay in!"

"That's my momma out there!" Y/N bit her hand as she scurried up the wall.

"No!" she cried as she choked back her scream. It was horrifying to see the amount of destruction.

"Katsu get down!" Her mother's matching ball gown was in shatters towards the bottom, her hair falling messily down her face. Sasuke was extremely fast, moving in and around the enemy with his sword flashing. Naruto was equally fast, both of them strong.

"Momma please be careful!" Y/N yelled as Sakura punched the ground below her, making her fall from the violent tremors.

"Do not interrupt the mission!" Sakura bellowed in her ear, dragging her away. "Your mother is strong, let her fight."

"I can't lose her too!" Y/N looked tearfully at Boruto, who was holding Sarada in shock.

"Papa will protect everyone Y/N-Chan, don't worry." Sarada whispered at her, rubbing her face with a smile.

Y/N had no choice but to listen in horror as Boruto and Sarada wrapped their arms around her, squeezing her with a grim smile. They understood how she felt as the ballroom shook.

"Momma." She could hear the lightning from her mother's jutsu hit again and again, other strong shinobi going out to help.

"Momma is fine." Y/N declared.

Boruto nodded.

"Your mother is fine."

..................................

"Mother no!" Y/N cried as just before the killing blow to the enemy, his sword pierced her through her shoulder.

"M/N!" Naruto watched as Sasuke finally cut off the enemy's head, watching as he finally let go of her.

Her mother collapsed in a stream of blood, feeling faint.

"I'm coming Sasuke-kun!" Sakura went running by Y/N, who was panicking at the sight of her mother's blood all over her tattered gown.

"Sasuke, my daughter." M/N begged slightly, making Sasuke nod. "Just tell her I'll be okay." Y/N whispered as the sword was ripped out of her, and Sakura instantly healed her.

"You're okay, my friend." Sakura smiled and stroked M/N's face as Y/N finally caught up to Sasuke. He stopped her immediately with a boot to her knee.

"She's fine. Your mother is fine." Sasuke immediately collapsed, low on chakra as the enemy was extremely strong.

"Good!" Y/N cried. Boruto had ran out, helping the battle recklessly. She ran over to where he was laying by his father, sliding across rocks.

"We're okay Y/N-Chan." Boruto smiled gently at her. Y/N nodded with a smile.

"You made me watch my mommy fight, and then you ran out recklessly and almost got killed." Y/N said with a smile.

"Y/N-Chan wait!" Boruto cried out as Y/N repeatedly slapped him. Naruto laughed with relief.

"Naruto-kun." Naruto was helped up by Sakura. "You're okay!" She cried as M/N kissed her daughters cheek.

"We're all okay." Y/N looked up to see Uchiha-San leaning on her mother's shoulder.

Epilogue

Y/N grimaced as she was invited over to the Uchiha house. She watched as her mother gave open mouth kisses to both grown Uchihas. "You do you, momma." Y/N shrugged when her mother asked her if it felt uncomfortable. Her mother was in a no strings attached relationship with both Sakura and Sasuke.

"I'm not ready for commitment yet." M/N giggled. "But this is good enough." She kissed Sakura's cheek.

"Our family is so weird." Sarada kissed Y/N's cheek. "But at least they're happy." Sarada smiled as Boruto covered Y/N's eyes, having snuck into their shared home again.

"Yeah, happy." Sarada smiled big, watching Boruto's eyes light up at his girlfriend for real.

"Come on, let's leave for our mission." The three of them were 16 now, and we're happily friends to the end.

"Come on Boruto-kun." Y/N waved goodbye to her three parents as she left the room, Sarada nodding as well.

"Be safe!" Sakura called from her position in between the three.
