This marks the point where the timelines diverged.

"I speak from a life where I spent a large majority of it being ignorant and letting my gifts remain untouched for far too long. The history that I remember is one filled with denial and a forsaking of my responsibilities, refusing to acknowledge the power I had. It ultimately led to a series of events that ended my life as I knew it. I lost everything.

Deep in my heart, I think I had always wished I had the power to change the world. Ironically, it seemed as if I was afraid of that fate, that the insignificant me would never fit into those humongous shoes. But in the later parts of my life, with the help of those around me, I gathered up the courage to start leaving my mark on the world. But that was precisely it. It was far too late. There was so much more I could've done, but my journey of self-actualization began past my prime and I missed the window to reach my full potential. Meanwhile, the threat never stopped growing and I could do nothing but watch everything crumble before my eyes. I was utterly powerless and all the good I did came to naught when the world itself met its end.

If only I had more time. If only I had confronted myself earlier and reclaimed all the days wasted doubting my purpose in this world and rejecting what was inside of me. I'm sure only then, will we be ready when the time comes, to save the things and the people we love.

It is up to you now, 17-year-old Ned. I need you to believe, forget about any limits and become the person strong enough to protect what you can never lose. No one else is coming, it is you. It may not have been right of me to interfere in your destiny, derailing the course of your life but trust me, you are off to a better future.

"I" am gone. I hope what I have done is to have given you a fighting chance to never see the future which is my past. Take your place in this world and make it change, let the universe know how it appears in your eyes and speak to it with your actions, mold yourself and those around you. That is how the world will change, and I pray with every bit of my fleeting existence it will be one that is better.

We need to unleash your potential, right now."
