"Real friendship is when your friend comes over to your house and then you both just take a nap." — Anonymous

"Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything." – Muhammad Ali

Amelia's P.O.V

"Wake up, wake up, wake up Amelia!!"

I screamed jolting awake falling off my bed hitting the floor face first as my own best friend Lex Flair is laughing her ass off on my bed. Why can't she wake me up like a normal person!? Now annoyed from her waking me up from the most peaceful sleep I ever had, I grabbed my pillow throwing it at her with intense force knocking her off the bed hard. Standing on my bed I looked down at her with a smirk of victory.

"Why must you wake me like a crazy person?" I asked.

Lex laughed helping herself off the floor rubbing her now sore butt from the fall.

"You know you waking you up the normal way never works. You could sleep through the world's biggest earthquakes."

Okay, now she's exaggerating. I can wake up anytime I want. I just love sleeping.

"By the way." Lex started, holding her arms tight shivering. "Why is your room always so damn cold!"

Shit! I forgot when I'm in a peaceful sleep my powers like to seep out. I looked around my room to see if any ice formed. Thankfully none had. I have to be more careful next time. Lex has no idea that I'm not human. Lex is my best friend, but I'm scared she will flip out seeing me as a freak.

"I like sleeping in the cold," I said not looking at her.

"Whatever you say, you ice queen," Lex said yanking my arm pulling me out the room handing me a mop and bucket. Oh, hell no.

"Why are you giving me this?" I asked.

"To clean. Come on. Time to clean the apartment from top to bottom." Lex said holding a bucket filled with bathroom cleaning products.

Why? Why did I have to have a best friend that is not only crazy with waking me up by jumping on me, but she has to be a clean freak too!?

"It's still early! It's only-" I looked at the clock to see the time. It was 8:30 AM. "It's 8:30 women! I haven't even eaten breakfast!"

"You can eat when you are done cleaning the kitchen and living room."

Oh, she's the devil!

"You cannot be serious right now?"

"I am! Now quit complaining and get to work!" Lex yelled, kicking me into the kitchen. There are days when I just want to freeze her ass the whole day for me to relax.

I sighed running my fingers through my long silver hair that reached up to my waist. Scanning the kitchen with my light blue eyes seeing only minor things that needed to be cleaned up. However, knowing Lex, she would want me to do a thorough job. The last time I didn't do a thorough job cleaning the bathroom, she nagged me all week.

"I better get this over with. I need to eat."

After about an hour and thirty minutes of cleaning both the kitchen and living room I was finally done. The apartment never looked so clean. That's rights. I put cleaning companies to shame with my cleaning abilities! I should not be sounding so proud of that.

"Way to go, Amelia. Everything looks great." Lex said smiling taking a seat on the couch.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh, shut up."

"Now let's order in some breakfast!"

How did I know she was going to say that? She can say I can sleep through anything, but she can't cook to save her life! The last time she cooked me dinner for both of us, it was horrible! One bit was all it took for me to pass out! Her horrible cooking was more powerful than any poison on this earth! That's how bad of a cook she is!

"What do you have in mind to eat?" I asked, sitting down next to her. My body needs to fall back to sleep.

"How about IHOP?," she asked holding out her keys ready to go.

I gave her a look. "Do you know how long we would have to wait?"

"But the wait is worth it!" Lex shouted.

"I'll be dead before I get the chance to eat!" I shouted back.

"Please Amelia! I want IHOP!

I sighed giving in. If I said no, she would pout like a baby all day. I love her, but she annoys me.

"Ugh! Fine. Let me get dressed first. I'm not going to my pj's."

"Just hurry up! I'm in the mood to eat 20 pancakes!"

"Lex, if you eat that much, you'll be sick for half the day."

Lex shrugged her shoulders not bothering to listen with only pancakes on the brain. Something inside me was telling me that today is going to be a long day. I went straight to my room to change, putting on a tea green sundress. It's summer here and the days are always so hot. For me I'm a snow fairy and hot days can be murder for me and my race. My mother and father were deathly worried for me when I said I was moving into the city with Lex. They had a hard time letting there snowflake grow up and leave. I love them so much.

"Girl are you ready!? Let's go!"

"Hold your horses!" I shouted. I grabbed my keys placing them in my small tea-green purse following Lex out the apartment. "You know Lex, we would have been there more sooner if we didn't clean up. You could have just waited till we got home to clean."

"I know that. But it's better to get the boring stuff done so that when we come back with full happy bellies, we don't have to do anything. We can just chill and relax for the rest of the day."

"Huh. That's a good point. But you know I hate waking up early." I said getting into the car starting it. Lex hoped in buckling her seatbelt.

"I know you do Amelia. However, it's so much fun annoying you, you Ice Queen."

I laughed starting the car driving to IHOP. Along the way I noticed a couple holding hands laughing. The sight of them made me think about the day I would ever find my mate. I always dreamed of finding my mate after my mother told me the story of how she met father. The look in her eyes that carried so much love for him. Even my father would give the same look to my mother every day. I want that. Someday soon, I will find my mate.
