"Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything." — Muhammad Ali

Clarinda stood in her room, her maid fitting her into her dress attire for the day. Her hair, shiny like an onyx stone, swayed with her minimal movements. Her maid bowed before exiting the room leaving the queen alone. She had thanked her as the door closed.

Today, she was meeting Vlad's mate. Excitement bubbled in her core. The ache to great and have a wonderful first time with his mate had been the only thing on her mind. Clarinda approached the large window to inform of her, her eyes scanning around the outside. It would be some time before Vlad and Amelia would be here, but Clarinda wanted everything in tip-top shape before then!

Her pale fingers skimmed through her hair strains. Her eyes, the same onyx color as her hair twinkled like a child with a new toy. Time was her enemy right now with her patience.

Deep breaths were taken as Clarinda's head maid informed her that Vlad and his mate Amelia have arrived and are waiting within the throne room. With one last deep breath, she made her way to the throne room as her head butler announced her arrival.

Clarinda's P.O.V.

I took my seat before Vlad and his mate and I could see without smelling her scent that she was a snow fairy. I remember not long before meeting the Snow fairy queen three winters ago. However, I could tell that this young snow fairy is very special. Something about her reminds me of that human girl Serenity Rose and Diana Winter who is a rare white wolf. Something about this must-have everything to do with those fox-demi-gods.

"Thank you for taking the time to come and see me. I heard much from Vlad about you Amelia.

Amelia smiled still feeling highly nervous about meeting me. I could not blame her for this. Not everyone gets the chance to meet with me. I am rather closed off and rarely want to be seen by anyone.

"It's an honor to meet you, your highness. Vlad has told me much about you."

I smiled. "I hope nothing too scary."

Vlad pouted like the child he is inside as a slight blush crossed his face. Poor thing is now embarrassing.

"As if I would ever dare my queen," Vlad said. Amelia held back from laughing.

Seeing her hold back must mean Vlad is trying to hide his childlike side from her. Such a child. I know she will love him even more if she knew.

"Amelia, is it true you live with a human friend and she does not know about who you are?"

Amelia rubbed her arm slightly. "Yeah. Her name is Lex and she's my best friend and sister. Trust me. I want to tell her about who I am, but I'm scared of how she will take it. I don't want to lose the only friend who has always been by my side the moment I moved from home."

Friends...Yeah, I can understand what she means. Humans are so much different from us, but also, we can relate to them.

"If she has always had your back from day 1 then I believe that she will not reject you. Like you said she's your best friend who you see as a sister. That type of bond is rare and cannot be severed that easy."

Amelia's eyes locked onto mine. Her beautiful snow blue eyes that held a small snowflake shimmered with hope in believing in my words. Yes. This girl is special. Such hopeful eyes of being excepted by her friend.

Vlad could see that a moment was being formed as a bright smile appeared. A grand moment of a new friendship was born.

Lex P.O.V.

After my long talk with dad, he agreed that Don needed some serious talking to. I guess you could say my dad kind of knew that Don would take it this far one day with Amelia. I have to give it to my dad for seeing this first. Most fathers don't pay mind to how their kids act when it comes to love. I'm not so sure about mom though. That woman loves to baby him so much. I can see that has turned into a big problem. She might as well have given birth to a crazy stalker son. I just hope he won't take it far and end up hurting the guy. Vlad seems like a cool guy. Both him and Amelia seem to be the same in some way. I can't place my finger on it.

Something about it makes me worry. What if the connection with him has her stop seeing me or I might not see her again? Would he take my best friend away from me? I want the best for her. Am I willing to let her go...?

"What am I saying. I need to stop acting so down. I know for a fact I and she will always be together."

I decided that going for a walk and getting something to eat will help me feel better as I wait for Amelia to come back home. I know she is on a date with Vlad right now. As I was about to go, I could hear ringing going off in Amelia's room.

"Did this idiot forget to bring her phone!"

I headed for her room to answer her phone but accidentally answered it."

"Amelia! Is it true you already found your mate and he's a vampire! Dad just told me about it and mom is so excited! His name is Vlad, right?"

I stood stunned. This had to be Amelia's sister and what she said got me complexly off guard. Vlad's a vampire?

"Hello? Are you their Amelia? Also, mom wanted me to ask if you have been okay with your powers. It's not easy for us snow fairies to hold back with our ability to make it snow when we get overwhelmed."

I dropped the phone canceling out the rest of her sisters talking. What...Amelia's not human...this has to be some kind of joke right? But now that I think about it...things about her are starting to make sense.

"Why...aren't we friends..." Suddenly I begin to cry now realizing why we are so different... "We tell each other everything... I guess not.
