On Saturday morning, I woke up feeling excited and happy about the day and the events to come. I made plans with Ella and Marie to meet them half an hour before the soccer game was scheduled to start, which was 8pm.

Over the last week, I haven't heard from David. One of our friends told me he found a new flat in Manhattan, but I honestly don't care. I finally got over my sadness about the breakup, which wasn't really big in the first place.

At seven, I made my way over to Ella's. She greeted me at her door and let me into her small flat.

"So, you excited about the game?" She asked me while getting a glass for me out of her kitchen.

"Yeah, I guess. I really miss the whole soccer atmosphere." I answered and took a seat on her couch. Gossip Girl was on TV. Typical, Ella was obsessed with this show and has watched all episodes about ten times.

I heard footsteps and saw my best friend walking into the room.

"Come on, Mae, you know I'm not talking about the whole soccer- thing. Aren't you happy about seeing Marc?" Ella sat down next to me, her eyes glued to the TV again, but nevertheless I knew she was still waiting for my answer.

"Honestly, Ella, all of this is so confusing. I mean, I really enjoyed spending time with him at his house and we had a great conversation that night, but even if I liked him, there is no way that something could develop from this." I sighed and put down the glass of water I just took a sip from.

Now Ella turned her head to me and began to speak up again: "Okay. Just imagine he wasn't your student and you would've met him on the street or at a club. He's passionate about the same things as you, he's good looking and you can have good conversations with him. What would you do?"

I thought for a while and told her that I would probably continue to see him.

"See, then why can't you?"

"Because he's my student!" I was starting to get annoyed again.

"Just one simple question: Do you like him?" Ella stared at me and I was perplex. Do I like Marc? Everything Ella said was true. He does love soccer just as much as I do. He is definitely good looking. And we had great and surprisingly deep conversations. All those little moments we shared over the last weeks were special and they made me feel things I did not feel since I first started dating David. And this is the reason.

"You see, I can't deny that whenever I'm around him, I feel something, but I'm trying to ignore it, cause it would be wrong. I really just want to stop talking about him!"

I leaned back and closed my eyes.

"Okay, but I want you to know that I think if you like someone, you can't change it. No matter how hard you'll try to ignore it, it won't go away. Believe me. But I'll always support you." Ella leaned over and gave me a hug. "Thanks Ells, I love you."

"Love you too."

"Hey girls", Marie greeted us when we stepped out of my car in the school's parking lot. "Hey, you look great!", I laughed. Marie was wearing a t-shirt in the school colors, blue and white, and was smiling from ear to ear.

"Of course! Soccer games are a big event here at Barkley High, not only for the students, all the teachers love it too!"

Ella and I gave Marie a hug and then we started walking towards the pitch. There was one big stand next to one of the long sides of the pitch, where a lot of the students and teachers from our and the other team's school were already sitting and anticipating the game.

The three of us took our seats in the middle of the stand while the players got out to start their warm-ups.

We talked with some of the other teachers and also some of Marie and I's students and Ella couldn't stop talking about how hot some of those high school boys were. The players, who already finished warming up, were back in the dressing rooms, probably getting a final prep talk from their coaches before the game.

A couple of minutes before the games was supposed to start, I was starting to get thirsty. "Hey, Marie, can you tell me where I can buy something to drink?"

"Sure, just go back from where we came through the corridor. At the end there is a little kiosk where the students sell food and drinks."

"Thanks, I must've missed it when we got here. Do you guys want something to drink aswell?"

"Nah, I'm good"

"I wouldn't mind a coke.", Ella said. I nodded and made my way down the stands. I quickly found the little kiosk after I passed the doors to the team's dressing rooms. As I stood in line, the players were already on their way from the dressing rooms to the pitch. I was starting to get impatient, because I was the last in line and when it was finally my turn to order, I quickly paid and took the cokes in both my hands.

While I was walking through the corridor, I could hear some noises coming from our team's dressing room. I passed the door and walked as fast as possible. I didn't want to miss the start of the game. Suddenly, I heard my name being called form behind me and I turned around. I saw Marc coming out of the dressing room. What was he still doing here?

A couple of seconds later, Marc was standing right in front of me. "You actually came.", he stated.

"Of course, I love soccer."

"So you're only here because of the sport?", he smiled down at me. I had a feeling he was coming closer every second, but I ignored it.

"Of course. Aren't you supposed to be on the pitch right now?"

"I bruised my knee during training yesterday so the coach wouldn't let me play right from the beginning. He'll probably put me on in the second half."

"Oh, okay. I hope your knee is better today. Don't want the team to lose because of you.", I smirked up at him and I could see the amusement in his eyes.

"Haha, very funny", he ironically said, "I'm pretty sure I'll score today."

"Oh really?" I asked. There wasn't much space left between us.

"Yep. But maybe I'll need a little incentive just to make sure.", he said while smirking.

"And what do you have in mind?", I asked. I could already feel Marc's breath on my lips. I knew I should stop, but my heart was telling me not to. I don't know why, but it felt like pulling away would've been the wrong thing to do.

"This." Marc said and leaned in. Instinctively I closed my eyes and waited for Marc's lips to connect with mine. But that magic moment didn't happen. Marc stepped away from me and my excitement vanished away in a matter of seconds. I opened my eyes and looked at him. Confused and slightly angry.

"I'll score and as a reward I'll get a kiss after the game, alright?", he asked me.

I couldn't stop staring at him. This boy is unbelievable!

"No way!", I said and pushed him roughly. I left him standing in the corridor and made my way back to the girls.
