I woke up the next day to an empty bed. I turned around and felt David's side, it was still warm meaning he had just left the bed. The curtains were still closed but sunlight was peeking through lighting the room. I sat up and rubbed my eyes to clear the fog. Once my senses cleared I heard the water in the bathroom running meaning David was in there.

I checked my phone for the time and it was half past eleven. Looks like we had really slept in. That was to be expected considering we'd gotten into the house at around six in the morning after dropping off all our drunk friends in their respective homes. It was quite the task but it had been worth it after the fun night we'd had together.

I got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom. I didn't bother knocking and just went in. The worst thing he could be doing was be on the toilet and after thinking about it for a second I discovered that I wouldn't mind seeing him doing his business. David was brushing his teeth when I walked in dressed only in his boxers exposing all his glory. I was wearing nothing but panties and a t-shirt,best pajamas ever. I wrapped my hands around his waist and gave him a back hug, my front pressed to his back. He was warm compared to the chilly temperature of the bathroom.

"Morning babe." I greeted kissing his back.

"Morning Tiny. Sleep well?" He asked after spitting out some toothpaste.

"Perfectly." I replied before letting him go and grabbing my toothbrush.

We stood there in the bathroom each of us going through our morning routine and it almost felt like we were a married couple. I liked that feeling.

"What do you want to do today?" David asked when he was done brushing his teeth.

"I've got nothing in mind but I'm starving. I'm not in the mood to cook though. We can order in since its almost lunch time." I suggested.

He thought about it for a while as I used my special soap to clean my face It didn't even have a name, just came in a clear white box. My mom bought it for me and it worked magic clearing out my acne in high school so if never stopped using it

"I think I have a better idea. Get ready we're going out."

"Out where?" I asked not really feeling it.

I was still a little bummed out from partying all night.

"Just trust me and get dressed. Casually." He instructed even before I could ask.

He kissed my hair since my face was all soapy and left the bathroom before I could grill him some more. What was he planning? I thought he would be tired too after spending all day yesterday at work and the whole night with our friends. I wasn't in the mood but I'd do it for him.

After finishing my morning routine I stripped off my clothes, wore a shower cap and walked into the bathroom. I didn't want to get my hair wet. Twenty minutes later I emerged feeling fresh and much more energized. I grabbed a towel and dried myself before walking back into my bedroom butt naked. Some part of me was wishing that David was in there so I could see his reaction when he saw me naked. Too bad he wasn't in there when I walked in. He must be in his bedroom getting ready. We should really think about putting his things in my bedroom. I clearly had the space and we liked sharing stuff so I wouldn't mind. I'd talk to him about it later.

Not knowing where we were going I applied some moisturizer, wore my underwear and decided on a casual enough outfit. Blue jeans, light yellow sweater and white sneakers. Making sure the curls in my hair were still intact I applied some minimal make up of eye liner and some lipstick and grabbed a small sling bag and shoved anything I might need into it. Feeling confident I looked good I walked out of my room and into the living room where I found David and George in deep conversation about soccer. Looks like those two were getting along.

"Hey old man how are you doing?" I teased George just to get a reaction out of him.

He didn't even bother replying just full on glared at me. In response I blew kisses at him to piss him off even more.

"You ready to go?" David asked.

"Yep." I replied popping the p.

"Where are you kids going? It's a Sunday afternoon. What happened to lazy Sundays?"George asked.

Lazy Sundays were what George and I used to do when we had nothing to do. Lay around all day doing nothing but eating take out and watching thriller movies. Sometimes we went to visit his family when we felt we really needed to get out of the house.

"David happened." I replied throwing him under the bus earning me a not so kind look from him.

"I just wanted to take Tiny out for a date if that's okay with you." David requested.

A date? I didn't know this was a date. I had nothing against going on a date with him but still he should have warned me. I would have dressed better.

"No its okay you kids go have fun. I just ordered a whole pizza and I'll enjoy it without having someone steal my slices." He said directing that last part towards me.

"You're the one who always steals my food." I replied poking my tongue out at him.

"Real mature. David get her out of here." He requested.

"Yes sir." David replied grabbing my hand and dragging me out of there.

I could hear George laughing to himself when we left. I was just glad he was happy for me about my relationship with David.

David and I took the elevator to the ground floor but instead of heading towards the parking garage he led me outside the building.

"Are we taking an uber?" I asked him puzzled.

"No we're walking." He replied and I immediately halted my steps. He had been holding my hand so when I stopped by walking our hands separated. He turned to look at me when he noticed I'd stopped moving.

"What do mean we're walking?" I asked him.

"I mean exactly that. We're walking." He replied and before turning around to leave.

When he noticed I wasn't following him he turned back and found me in the same spot.

I had nothing against walking but there was nothing around us except apartment buildings. Where were we walking to exactly? I was in shape so I could handle the walk as long as it wasn't to the end of the world but it doesn't mean I was looking forward to it.

"Come on Tiny I promise you it isn't that far." David bargained.

"I don't want to." I whined in a baby voice.

"I'll give you a piggy back ride on the way back." David offered and that peeked my interest.

"You promise." I asked.

"Scouts honor." He assured me.

"Okay but if it's far just know that's how far you'll have to carry me back." I warned.

"Don't worry I can handle it." He replied holding his hand out for me.

I took it and let him lead me to wherever it was that he was taking me. It had better involve food because I was starving.

"We're you ever a boy scout?" I asked for the sake of making conversation.

David laughed at my question but answered me nonetheless "I was in primary school considering I was among the tallest in our class so they used me to raise the flag a lot but in high school I wasn't interested in extra curriculum activities that much."

"I wasn't a fan of them either. Honestly I didn't even like high school and almost dropped out when my dad died in my final year." I admitted.

"I guess loosing our dads is one of the common things we have though I don't think that's such a great thing." David admitted.

"I don't think so either. I mean if it weren't for my grandpa picking us up and George always being there for me, I don't know where I would have ended up."

"At least you had those two. As for me I had no one. My mom was too busy taking care of my other three siblings. I spiralled out of control for a while but I eventually found my way back." David confessed.

I don't think he'd ever tell me what he got into during those dark years of his life. They didn't change how I felt about him and I honestly didn't care but I didn't like the haunted look on his face when he talked about that point of his life. I wanted to share his pain but that was only if he let me in. I'd leave it all up to him since I didn't want to push him too hard.

"The important thing is that you're here now and that you've left all of that behind you." I assured him holding his hand tighter.

He looked at me with a smile. I returned it and he pulled me towards him and kissed my hair. Couple goals. I was living it.

The conversation took a lighter turn after that and we started talking about our siblings. The boys were alike in so many ways. I told him about Georges girls too and how dear they were to me.

After ten more minutes we arrived to a part of the street I lived in where I'd never been to before. I don't think I'd even ever seen the place yet I'd lived there for a few years.

It was a whole street of vendors selling different kinds of things. There were fruits, vegetables, food, drinks, house hold goods and a lot other stuff.

"How come I've never been here before? I've lived in this street for years." I asked shocked.

"That's because they only come here on Sundays. I only know about it because my mom told me. She used to come here to sell but she stopped when I started making enough money to support all of us." He explained.

"You're a good son and the best brother." I complimented him.

"Thank you, I try. So what do you want to do first?" He asked.

"Anything as long as it involves food." I replied eyeing all the food stalls around.

"Say no more." David said pulling me towards a small food stall.

It was makeshift but arranged so expertly to sit around ten people. There were three huge umbrellas arranged in a row with plastic tables attached to them and people were sitting on plastic chairs. It was busy but there were two empty seats so we grabbed those before other people sat down. Everyone was eating the same food so I assumed it was then only thing being served. They all seemed to be vendors probably on their lunch break. We weren't that extravagantly dressed but we still stuck out because most of those dressed like us were out there buying stuff and doing their shopping not in here eating. After waiting a few minutes four plates were placed in front of us and the server walked away without another word. We hadn't even ordered and we'd already been served. I guess all you had to do here was sit down and wait for the food.

I rarely ate street food, not because I deemed it unworthy but because I was rarely in the street. I never had a chance to do anything like this. I looked at what we had been served and it was two chapatis each and a bowl of kunde. It looked good but I was still skeptical about eating it. What if my stomach didn't agree with it.

"What are you waiting for? Dig in." David ushered as he took a spoonful of his kunde.

He seemed to be enjoying it but he was used to this life unlike me.

"What if I get food poisoning?" I whispered afraid if I spoke any louder I'd offend someone.

"Tiny just eat your food. If we die we die together." David replied and continued eating.

That statement didn't do anything to ease my fear but I encouraged myself that David wouldn't do anything to harm me so I had to trust him and eat the food. I grabbed my spoon, scooped some stew and put it in my mouth. My eyes widened at how good it actually was. I heard David chuckle next to me.

"What?" I asked meeting his gaze as I took another bite to assure myself I wasn't dreaming and it was all real. It was actually that good.

"I should have taken that photo. Your face when you took that first bite was one I wish to never forget." David explained.

"Shut up and eat your food." I said shoving him playfully.

"Yes ma'am." He mocked as he resumed eating.

The weather was a little warm under the Umbrella so I took off my sweater and tied it around my waist leaving me in a white tank top. I looked all around me as I ate and noticed how diverse all these looked yet it was so peaceful. Everyone knew what their business was and they co-existed harmoniously with each other. A lot of people who lived here were busy with work during the week so it only made sense that the vendors came on Sunday so people could do their shopping. Everything being sold looked fresh. I felt bad that I had only discovered this place today. It looked like somewhere I'd frequent if I knew of its existence.

When we were done eating David paid and we left the stall. Best meal I've had in a really long time, excluding pizza but that was unrivaled.

"How much was the food?" I asked David.

"Why? You want to refund me?" He asked teasingly.

"No I could but I just want to know." I replied.

"One hundred." He answered.

"What?!"I asked shocked my steps faltering.

"Fifty shillings per plate so one hundred total." He explained further.

"No way but it was so good." I said in disbelief.

"Welcome to my life. Now what do you want to do next?"David asked dismissing my train of thought.

I would have gone back there and paid some more because I knew the lady deserved more for such great cooking but I held myself back. I think she'd take it as an insult.

A fruit vendor caught my eye and I dragged David towards him. He'd made fruit salads into little plastic bowls for sale. I grabbed two and stood aside to allow David to pay. I knew how important it was to allow him to have this moment because ever since we met I'd been the one paying for everything. Today I'd let him spoil me. Time to step aside from my lane and join him in his.

I saw David give him a hundred shillings and he actually got change. I think I wanted to change my lifestyle now. I handed David his bowl and we walked around eating while window shopping if you could call it that.

I saw someone selling some wooden earrings shaped into different designs so I crossed the road towards him. David was walking behind me chuckling at my excitement.

"How much are these?" I asked him eyeing all of them.

They all looked so good it was hard to choose. They would look very stylish paired with some of dress designs because of how traditional they looked. People were so talented.

"Two hundred shillings a pair." He answered and I was shocked once more.

That was so cheap. I was so tempted to but all of them.

"I know you're thinking and don't." David warned.

"But what they all look so good." I whined.

"Just pick a few." David insisted and I resisted the urge to stomp my foot.

I picked out five that caught my eye the most and David paid while the kind gentleman packaged them for me. Before David could stop be I grabbed a card from my bag and handed it to him asking him to call me so we could talk business. He looked so happy he almost hugged me but the look on David's face held him back. David dragged me out of there after I took my purchase from the young man.

"You're lucky I know you and very secure about our relationship or it'd have offended me seeing you give your number to another man." David said.

"Don't worry babe. I'm all yours and besides its my office number not my personal cell number." I reassured him but he just grunted his response making me chuckle.

I loved how protective he was. It made me feel really special.

He bought us some ice cream after we were done with the fruits and once again I was surprised at how cheap it was. I was in love with this place.

On the way back to my place two hours later I was a very happy girlfriend. David wasn't carrying me because his hands were full of shopping bags and so were mine. Who goes to the market and doesn't buy the best groceries available.

"Thank you so much for that. Best date ever." I thanked David.

"You're welcome." He replied smiling at me.

"We should do this again. I had a lot of fun." I suggested.

"It's a date." He replied and I beamed.

I didn't lie. Honestly it had been the best date ever.
