Isabella's POV

"D-dad?"

The man stopped at his place. Out of the features that could be seen, I was directly remembered of my father.

But it was impossible.

He had to be dead.

The man didn't respond to my question and was quiet all the time.

"Welcome back, father."
Ryan said while ignoring my question too.

What? Father?

My brain couldn't proceed everything.

This can't be my father now, right?
It's Ryan's father...

But why does he resemble my father?

The man walked closer to me and I got a whole better view of him.

It wasn't my father.

It was someone who resembled my father so much and this shocked me. The eyes and the nose were the same, but I've never seen the guy in my life before.

Who's he?

The man looked at me first, but then he turned his head towards Ryan who was standing in the corner of the room.

"Long time no see, son."
He said to him.

So they are really father and son, hm?

Ryan only nodded and then his father turned back towards me.

"Well well well, look who we got here."
He grabbed a chair which was beside him. I didn't notice the chair at first since it was standing in the dark.

He sat close to me. Not too close, but close. Our knees were barely touching, but the gap between us wouldn't fit another chair though.

"You did a good job Ryan, but now pls give us a moment."
He was talking to Ryan, but faced me the whole time. It was like he was examining my face.

Ryan went out of the room and then only the both of us were left in the dark room.

Shivers went down my spine as the man didn't talk but examined my face.

"W-who are y-you?"
I asked him with a low voice.

I was scared that he would do something to me. He even sent his son out and this didn't mean good news to me.

"You called me 'dad' earlier. So I resemble him that much hm?"
It sounded more like he was asking himself.

I was quiet.

"How ironic."
He chuckled, but I didn't show any reaction.

After a while he stopped chuckling and went back to stare at me.

"You probably have many questions now Isabella."

I didn't respond to his statement at all, but in the inside I was like;

Hell yes!

"Then let me tell you everything. But of course, I still need to introduce myself, right?"

I slightly nodded. More like, hesitantly.

"I'm Noah Smith. CEO of the Smith industry and also the father of Ryan. Last but not least, I'm your uncle."

I gasped.

My...uncle? He's my uncle?
Wait what?!
This is impossible!

"W-wait wait, this is impossible. I don't have any uncles! My mother only had sisters and my father is an only child! So why are you trying to lie to me?!"
I exclaimed.

He leaned back and sighed. It seemed like he expected this reaction of me and now he's getting ready to explain everything.

"Believe it it not, I'm the brother of your father. He wasn't an only child like he told you."
He said and I noticed him clenching his fist as he mentioned the last part.

I only gave him a confused look and he directly went on with talking.

"Some...things happened in the past. My parents, your grandparents, thought that I was shame for the family and well, you can say they erased me from the family. Including your father and that's why he never mentioned me."
He was smiling.

Why is he smiling at this?

I wasn't sure if I should believe him. It would have made sense what he said, but still there wasn't any proof.

Only the freaking resembles they have with each other...

I decided on asking him further question so that I can get more information as in proofs.

"What things happened?"
I asked.

He looked quiet shocked for a moment. He surely didn't expect me to ask him such a question. But all in all, he wasn't startled and relaxed.

"I should've know that you would ask me this. After all you're his daughter..."

He paused for a moment but then went on.

"Since your father is older than me, our parents wanted to inherit him the company. Since I wanted to inherit it too, I complained but of course they weren't going to change their minds. So one day I brought the company into deep shit as I tried to take it over...with some help."

I was listening very carefully at his words because I didn't want to skip some important information.

"And like I said, they weren't happy with what I got them into and then they erased me from their life. I was completely alone with no job while your father took over the company and made millions of money."

"No you're lying. My father would have helped you."
I spat out.

"He did Isabella. He only sent me a few of the money that he made so that I can start a proper life, but you know...this wasn't much of a help."
He said through greeted teeth.

"But why couldn't you share the company? Heck, that's only an olive oil industry!"
I exclaimed. I couldn't understand why they would do such a tantrum about an olive oil industry.

"Olive oil industry? So you don't know hm? That's hilarious!"
He chuckled and I was left with a now more confused look.

"What do you mean?"
I asked as the confusion grew more.

"Darling there's no olive oil industry. It's only a to cover up the real products. Drugs. It's drugs. We're dealing with drugs."

"W-what no...I don't believe you!"
I cried out.

This couldn't be right.

This can't be right...
Never would my family do such a thing...

"That's not a lie. Your brothers are currently now running over the company. The world thinks they're processing olive oil, but in reality it's drugs."

"W-why should I believe you hm?!"

"Isabella, like I said believe it or not. But then you would have to face the consequences if you don't believe."
A smiled formed onto his face.

"B-b-but you're also dealing with drugs. You also have a company to cover up your dirty work!"
I yelled as I remembered what Tony told me about the Smith's family.

"Ah yes, I nearly forgot."
He chuckled for the hundredth time.

There was one thing that I had to ask him.

"Did you kill my parents..."
I said but for him inaudible.

"What?"
He asked.

"Did you kill my parents?!"
I yelled.

He was taken aback for a second but then regained himself.

"Hm didn't Landon kill them?"

"W-what...how do you know about that? Tell me!"

"First tell me Isabella, do you think Landon killed your parents?"

I opened my mouth but nothing was coming out.

Do I?

No...

Otherwise I wouldn't have asked him now if he had killed my parents...

"No I don't think so."

"I should've known..."
He said to himself but I could hear it.

"Did you?"
I asked him as I referred back to my actual question.

He looked at me without saying anything.

It felt like hours.

I couldn't read his emotions. He had a normal expression on his face. Like no smiling, but also no anger.

What's he thinking?

After a while he decided to respond.

"Yes."
