We should also go, come Mahdia.' Mrs. Siddiqui stood up

'No, Mrs. Siddiqui. Please stay longer.' Ahyan quickly stood up too. Mariam is disappointed as she is leaving.

'No beta, it is getting late. Mariam has school tomorrow.' Mrs Siddiqui explained. Ahyan nodded.

'Bye!'

Mariam walked towards him and held his hand taking him by surprise, he looked down at her.

'Promise, you will come to our place someday?' she pouted. Ahyan kneeled in front of her.

'Of course.' He promised kissing the back of her palm and a slight blush creep up on her cheeks.

Mahdia admired them.

Mariam hugged him, once again taking him by surprise. She also kissed him on his cheek and thanked him.

'Come, Mariam, Mahdia, let us go.' Mrs Siddiqui smiled.

'You guys carry on and wait down for me, I will help Ahyan wrapping up here and come.' Mahdia said and Mrs Siddiqui nodded, she took Mariam by her hand and they left.

Mahdia looked at Ahyan and smiled, he smiled back.

'Thanks.' Ahyan said as Mahdia finished washing the last plate.

'You didn't have to, you know. I could have managed.' Ahyan said

'Hmmm...have you ever done, cleaning plates and all?' Mahdia said placing the last plate in the rack. Ahyan shook his head looking embarrassed.

'I knew it.' Mahdia smiled at him. Ahyan is relieved because she is not judging him.

'And I am sorry for Lydia. She is little, moody.' Mahdia said as the two walked into the living room.

'I didn't mind.' Ahyan is surprised at himself. He never entertains people like Lydia who talk no sense and strangely it didn't anger him.

'Bye then.' Mahdia said stepping out from his apartment. Ahyan nodded.

She turned to leave when Ahyan stopped her, she turned to look at him.

'Yes?' she asked with a smile.

Ahyan hesitated for a second, 'You, uh...look...beautiful.' He felt awkward as he has never complimented a girl before.

Mahdia blushed, her reaction gave him confidence. He took a step closer and held her hand taking her by surprise.

'Very beautiful.' He whispered. Gazing into his eyes, Mahdia knew what he was thinking next. She wants to kiss him but right now, her mother and niece are waiting downstairs and she must hurry.

'Thank...you.' she said. Ahyan admired her, he extended his hand and brushed aside few random strands off her forehead. Mahdia found her breath in her throat. Ahyan glanced at her lips, her gaze fell on his lips too. Her heart began racing as he inched closer to her, his palm resting on her cheek. Ahyan could feel her cheek burn under his palm. His lips hovered over hers and all Mahdia could hear was her loud thumping heart and felt blood rush to her ears. But before Ahyan could kiss her on her lips she turned her head and he kissed her cheek instead. She smiled shyly.

'Sorry, sorry.' Ahyan took a step back feeling he might have offended her.

'No, no, you did nothing wrong...it's just I want my first kiss to be special and of course it will be with you but not now...it's not the right time, I have to go.' Mahdia felt bad as she said but she had to, she doesn't want to rush her first kiss, she wanted it to be with Ahyan where there is no hurry, just she and him.

'Oh!' Ahyan wasn't sure how to respond to that. She looked at him hoping to catch his expressions in case she offended him. He smiled at her and she is relieved.

'Bye then.' He said

Mahdia leaned forward and threw her arms around his neck hugging him. Ahyan took few seconds to wrap his arms around her waist. Mahdia felt goose-bumps feeling his arms touching her bare back. She shivered and to distract herself she tilted her head burying it into her arms as she tightened her grip. Ahyan relaxed in her embrace and moved burying his face into the crook of her neck. Mahdia smiled.

They had to part soon, she pouted sadly as she didn't want to leave.

'I will be at your café tomorrow.' He assured her. She forced a smile and turned walking away.
