Mahdia felt her heart in her mouth, Ahyan seemed to not understand her as he looked confused. She on the other hand felt nervous to say the words directly. Somewhere Ahyan knew this was coming. Strangely he felt good and bad for feeling good. He straightened up pretending he didn't hear her.

'I have to go.' He said, as he turned around Mahdia held his hand and he froze.

'I like you, Ahyan. I like you very much.' She confessed. Ahyan turned around. Slowly, he moved his hand.

'You are a very nice girl, Mahdia.'

'But do you like me?' she asked looking at him with hopeful eyes. Ahyan didn't like the look, he felt guiltier.

'I have a plane to catch. I must go.' He said and turned around. Before Mahdia could stop him, he walked away. Mahdia stood in the rain watching him go, a sinking feeling in her chest.

Mrs. Siddiqui is confused as she saw her drench and probably crying. She asked her but Mahdia assured everything is fine and she is just emotional because Ahyan is leaving. Mrs. Siddiqui found something was amiss because Mahdia's lips said something and her eyes said something else.

Mariam looked away from the window and then at her Aunt.

'What were you talking to Ahyan?' Mariam asked. Mahdia forced a smile.

'Nothing!' She said. Mariam watched her surprised as Mahdia silently took out a Hello Kitty PJ.

Mahdia locked herself in the bathroom, she leaned against the door and closed her eyes, tears fell from her eyes.

Her bubble had just busted. Forget loving, Ahyan doesn't even like her. He didn't reply for her question instead walked away without a backward glance. What should she make of this?

She slapped her forehead, how silly of her? she fell in love with him and happily assumed he feels the same way for her but unfortunately, he doesn't and tomorrow he will be flying back to India. Now, what after this? Mahdia felt lost and very upset.

Ahyan couldn't sleep. He kept pacing in the room, at times smoking. He kept looking at the red umbrella and felt bad. Her brown eyes haunting him. How innocently she had confessed she liked him. He knew very well what the like you meant but he pretended and still is pretending, that he didn't get it.

Ahyan sighed and took another puff of smoke, he stared out from the window.

Tomorrow he will be going things will eventually go to normal. Even Mahdia will move on, but he, will he move on?

Around 3 am he decided to get some sleep, he has a plane to catch tomorrow afternoon. As lay on the bed out of habit he checked his phone and then he recollected with a heavy heart that she won't be calling him like every night this week.

Ahyan thought it was strange how in just one week he felt so connected with Mahdia, and that little girl Mariam. She reminded him strongly of himself as a kid and her face, those dark eyes it reminded him so much of his sister, Sadaf. As a child, Sadaf looked very similar to Mariam. Ahyan found this very disturbing. He had never seen an image of his sister in any girl let alone a little girl. Ahyan turned to his left, he came face to face with Kumar and he quickly turned to the other side. He stared at the hotel room door before sleep engulfed him.

Lydia kept glancing at Mahdia who was busy with her cake mold. Finally, she turned towards Mahdia and watched her with her head tilted little to the side, her lips pressed tightly together. Mahdia accidentally spilled some of the batter, 'Will you please stop staring?' Mahdia said annoyed. Lydia didn't look away she simply placed her hand on her hip and leaned against the table. Mahdia glared at her, 'What?'

'That Kumar fellow is waiting for you for like an hour, Babes, they have a plane to catch. Go meet him. It must be important.' Lydia explained. Mahdia sighed and angrily removed her apron, she threw it on the counter.

Mahdia was annoyed when she found out Ahyan had only sent Kumar. After she had confessed she likes him, he so rudely walked away and today she had expected him to come and talk to her. But no, he has sent his stooge instead.

Kumar kept glancing towards the workstation all the while jumping on his toes, he felt impatient and slightly annoyed. He wanted to leave but he was given strict instructions from his boss that he doesn't leave without doing the job. Kumar frustrated fished out his mobile from his trouser pants deciding to call Ahyan but before he did he heard a female voice and looked up from his mobile.

Mahdia forced a smile at him, he smiled genuinely at her, a tired smile. Mahdia noticed he held a file, she looked at the blue file briefly before looking back up at Kumar. He forwarded her the file.

'Our contract.' He said brightly. Mahdia took the file from him and flipped through the pages.

'Take your time to read this, our flight is at 3 pm and,' he glanced at his watch, 'it is just 10 am now. At least by 1 pm come and hand it to us. You know our hotel and room, right?' Kumar said. Mahdia didn't look up, her gaze running over the page. Kumar smiled at her and turned to leave when Mahdia stopped him.

Kumar nodded when she asked him to wait for five minutes, she went to the counter and got a pen.

'Are you sure?' he asked concerned as Mahdia quickly sighed the dotted lines. He looked at her carefully, she looked annoyed. He wondered, why?

'Yup!' she said and handed him the file.

'Okay then, we will send someone soon for finalizing everything.' Kumar said. Mahdia simply nodded and turned around walking away. Kumar looked confused, surely Sir did something to offend her, he thought shaking his head.

'You should meet him.' Lydia said suddenly startling Mahdia. The women were in the washroom. Mahdia had just washed her face while Lydia appeared from inside a cubicle.

'Why? He has nothing to do with me, why should I? Mahdia shrugged.

'Because you love him, and if he goes without knowing then that is the end.'

'It doesn't matter if I love him, he doesn't.'

'Did he say that?' Lydia said. Mahdia bit her lower lip, then composed herself and said, 'well technically no, but his actions said it all.'

Lydia sighed, 'Maybe he is confused,' she placed her palms on her shoulder and shook her little, 'but if you say everything clearly, it will make him think and with him going back he will be compelled to think about you and who knows he realizes he loves you! It's a chance you should take.' Lydia explained. Mahdia listened carefully before giving a thoughtful nod.

Ahyan stepped out from the cab, he then took out his briefcase and laptop Bag. Kumar along with the driver took out their luggage from behind the car. Ahyan waited out as Kumar goes to get the trolley.

Ahyan took out his phone and checked his flight details before he kept his phone down his gaze fell on Mahdia's message. He felt faintly disappointed because she hadn't called or messaged him. He felt bad, but this was needed, he didn't want to give her false hopes. She is young and most probably has a stupid childish crush on him, once he is gone she will get over him. This is Paris after all, she will find better men than him. Ahyan thought with a small sad smile.

'Chale, sir?' Kumar said from the other side, Ahyan looked at him and nodded.

Ahyan stuffed his passport and boarding passes into his shirt pocket, he adjusted his coat as Kumar walked beside him. They had just checked in and now are walking towards the security check.

As they waited in the security line, they heard some commotion happening at the entrance.

'What is happening there, sir?' Kumar asked Ahyan. He shrugged and craned his neck to look at the direction of the security. There is too much commotion, someone is in a fight with the officers.

Kumar looked fearful, 'Is it some attack?'

Ahyan shook his head, 'Relax! It is some petty fight. Leave it.' Ahyan said taking a step forward.

'AHYAN! AHYAN!' he and Kumar froze hearing a female voice. Ahyan turned his head and found Mahdia struggling with the officers, a male officer held her by the waist, her feet up and kicking, and her gaze on them.

Ahyan slapped his forehead, so the commotion was Mahdia having a fight with the officers. He looked at Kumar who smirked at him. Ahyan sighed and handed him his laptop bag, adjusting his coat he walked towards them.

'Officers, just give us 10mins.' Ahyan said one of the officers seriously.

'You know this lunatic?' the Officer asked, Mahdia glared at him. Ahyan nodded. The officer let go of Mahdia she adjusted her blue cardigan. Ahyan held her arm and took her to a corner.

'What are you doing here? Like this? You know this isn't a Bollywood movie.' Ahyan hissed as he glared at Mahdia. She smiled at him and held his arms, Ahyan is surprised.

'I had gotten caught with work and so I couldn't meet you, but I had to tell you this,' Mahdia locked his gaze with hers, she gulped, 'I love you, Ahyan.' She confessed. Ahyan is taken back, he blinked at her.

Her heart raced with nervousness and anxiety. He shrugged his arms from her grip, Mahdia's smile faded.

'Mahdia! I don't love you and we can never happen.' Ahyan said clearly. He felt guilty looking at her upset face.

'But why?' Mahdia asked, her eyes glistening with tears. Ahyan sighed.

'Mahdia please understand. We are two different people from different background.'

Mahdia shook her head, 'I don't care if we are from different background and I also,' she looked up into his eyes, 'don't care that you don't love me. of course, I am hurt, very hurt because I have never loved any other man before you and will never love anyone after you. But...'she looked away for few seconds and then looked back at him, 'I will always love you, Ahyan and if my love for you is true you will love me too else I will live alone with your memories and my love.' She finished.

Ahyan sighed massaging his forehead, then he looked at her, 'Do whatever you want but I know in just one day after I am gone this stupid childish crush will be over.' He said seriously.

Mahdia scoffed, 'I am 100% sure even if you come after one year I will love you and will be only yours.' She said seriously. Ahyan is surprised as he looked at the sincerity and confidence in her eyes. He feared her words, gazing into her eyes he knew she is serious. Mahdia stared into his eyes, she then forced a smile, a lone tear falling from her left eye.

'Bye, Ahyan.... for...ever...' she said, her lips trembling. Ahyan extended his hand to hold hers but she turned around and walked away. Ahyan watched her go, she wrapped her arms around herself and he knew very well she was crying. He isn't liking this.

Throughout the plane journey, he kept looking out and wondering if it was just a filmy dialogue by her or if she meant it. From her eyes, Ahyan knew she wasn't lying, the confidence the sincerity. Ahyan turned his head to his side, Kumar had slept off. His head slipped to his side and fell on Ahyan's shoulder, he shrugged it away and he moved his head the other side. Ahyan tried distracting himself with the magazine but Mahdia's innocent face, hopeful eyes swam before him and he angrily stuffed the magazine back into the seat pocket. He pressed a button on the above panel and an air-hostess came, she smiled politely and formally at him.

'Water please.' The air hostess nodded and then said sweetly, 'Anything else, sir?' Ahyan thought for a moment, he looked at Kumar and then at the air-hostess, 'Two blankets.'

The air hostess nodded her head, 'Sure sir.'

After she had left, Ahyan pushed back his seat and relaxed. Being in business class there is a lot of room to stretch his legs, he wanted to relax but he couldn't. He felt guilty.
