'Yes, Lydia. Be ready and be at the café around 6. We have to supervise the transport of all the goodies.' Mahdia suggested her over the phone.

'I am going to wear Indian, my sister-in law's saree.' Mahdia smiled, 'I know we are French café but the dress has nothing to do with it. I want to look ethnic...Ya, I know how to drape a saree.... Okay bye.' Mahdia cut the call.

'Ma!' she called.

'I want to go too.' Mahdia turned her head and found Mariam pouting cutely. She smiled and leaned forward, 'Next time. Pakka.' She smiled. Mariam sighed. She looked disappointed.

'Aww...'Mahdia hugged her niece, she didn't hug her back. Mahdia decided to get some chocolate ice-cream or some ninja turtle toys for her darling niece.

'Stay still.' Mrs. Siddiqui scolded her daughter. Mariam giggled

'I am not a mannequin, drape the damn saree fast, Ma!' Mahdia felt irritated standing still like a statue for her mother to leisurely drape her a saree. Mariam sat on the edge of the bed munching popcorns and enjoying the mother-daughter arguments.

'Finally.' Mahdia huffed when her mother was done with the saree. With all the pins and the long chiffon saree, Mahdia regretted her decision to wear ethnic.

She held the pleats of the saree tightly and walked towards the mirror. Mariam gaped at her while Mrs. Siddiqui admired her daughter with pride. She felt emotional too, this saree she had gotten for her daughter-in-law Sadaf on the second day of her marriage. It fits perfectly for Mahdia, Mrs. Siddiqui had tears in her eyes.

She looked smart in a maroon chiffon saree with golden printed work and cup sleeved maroon blouse with sweat-heart neckline. The back had a deep round cut. She twisted her body and admired herself. The saree is a perfect fit, clinging to her body enhancing her hour-shaped figure. She smiled adjusting the Pallu on her arm.

'Wow! Maddy, you are looking amazing.' Mariam complimented once Mahdia had done with her look. Her light brown hair tied in a twisted mid-parted bun, dark kohl adorned her brown eyes, maroon lipsticks on her plump lips but the best part was the nose stud glistening on her nose, it gave her a very sexy look. She wore golden danglers in her ears and a thin golden chain in her neck. Watch in one hand and elegant delicate middle-ring bracelet in the other. Mahdia smiled at her reflection, she is indeed looking amazing.

'OMG! Someone is looking killer.' Lydia complimented as Mahdia walked into the café. She blushed lowering her lashes for a moment and then looked at Lydia.

'You aren't looking bad yourself.' She complimented pointing at her emerald green off shoulder mid-thigh dress.

'Not as awesome as you.' she winked.

Alex who had just come from the workstation gaped at Mahdia awe-struck. Lydia nudged Mahdia's arm and winked at her, she whispered, 'You will kill all the men there.' Mahdia blushed. There is only one man she wants to charm and she hopes he comes to the party.

'Sir, this party looks boring.' Kumar groaned as soon as they came into the venue. Ahyan looked at him, 'What did you expect it to be like, Queen's Club?' Ahyan rolled his eyes. Kumar looked away, his ears red.

Ahyan is greeted by Nathan who stood with other real estate and property dealers. Nathan introduced Ahyan to his friend circle, Ahyan shook hands with everyone formally and greeted them politely. He soon engaged himself with work talks, Kumar simply stood by them.

After some time, Nathan placed his arm on Ahyan's shoulder and he stopped speaking, he turned his head and looked at Ahyan, 'Enough of boring business talk, come we will have some drinks.' Nathan smiled at Ahyan, he smiled back. Kumar also tagged along with them towards the bar counter.

Ahyan felt little offended as Nathan joked about Kumar ordering an orange juice. Ahyan felt a little protective of his assistant, he has gotten little fond of the guy getting to spend more time with him.

Soon, their drinks came and they began talking. Ahyan talked about his business back home in India, Nathan wasn't interested in listening to work but pretended that he is. Kumar silently sipped his drink, his eyes fell on the eatery stall where a girl in an Indian attire caught his attention. Wearing a saree among gowns and suits she stood out, in a nice way. Kumar squinted his eyes and realized the girl is from the café. He looked at his boss who seemed to be in deep one-sided conversation with Nathan, taking the chance Kumar slowly slipped from the boring conversation. He glanced back as he walked towards the stall.

Mahdia arranged the stall, she is also supervising the chefs. She turned around on hearing someone clear their throat.

'Hey!' Kumar beamed at her. Mahdia is surprised to see him, she greeted him with a smile. She then felt little awkward after the morning incident. Kumar read her expressions.

'Arey, forget about the morning. It happens. Many times, it had happened to me also.' Kumar said lightly. Mahdia smiled little.

'And don't worry about sir,' Kumar glanced back at the bar counter, Mahdia looked at the direction and her heart skipped a beat watching him talking to someone. He is looking dashing in white and black printed shirt, black waistcoat and black formal pants. She quickly looked away.

'Sir comes out as rude and arrogant but he isn't, he is a gem. A complete family man.' Kumar said. Mahdia frowned, family man, is he married? her heart sank with the thought.

'Oh, his wife is very lucky.' Mahdia said sadly. Kumar looked at her confused, he then smiled at her silliness.

'Arey No, by a family man I meant a Mom-Dad guy.' Kumar said. Mahdia is relieved, a genuine smile appearing on her lips.

Nathan got a call and so he excused himself. Once he was gone Ahyan realized Kumar is missing. He looked around searching for his assistant. Few seconds of searching he found him at the food stall chatting happily with two ladies, one in saree and one in a gown. Ahyan frowned on noticing the girl is the same from the café. What was her name? Ahyan then shrugged, why do I care?

He looked at the corner where Nathan stood, adjusting his waistcoat he walked towards Kumar.

Kumar cracked a joke from work and the two women laughed. He watched them with pride.

'What time pass are you doing here?' Everyone froze on hearing a stern voice. Ahyan had come towards them and stood in between Kumar and Mahdia. She got a whiff of his musky cologne and she felt a tingly sensation in the pit of her stomach. Lydia cleverly eyed him.

'Sorry sir, I was just....'

Lydia nudged Mahdia's arm and when she looked at her, she winked at her. Mahdia blushed looking away.

'Come, there is so much to do.' Ahyan said sternly. He conveniently ignored Mahdia and Lydia.

'Sorry, sir.' Kumar lowered his head.

'Stop disturbing them also.' Ahyan held his arm and dragged him away. Mahdia kept staring at his back, a dreamy smile on her face.

'He is so bossy!' Lydia said making a face.

'And caring.' Mahdia said dreamily but when Lydia raised her eyebrow she added, 'Didn't you hear he said Dinesh to not disturb us. He cares for me.' Mahdia said. Lydia shook her head an amused smile playing on her lips, she wanted to tell Mahdia to not assume things about strangers but then she decided otherwise.
