(chapter xxxii)

Yuna exhaled sharply in defeat as she watched Tooru's figure slowly fade in the crowd. She was motified. She couldn't believe that she was currently laying on a park bench after feeling lightheaded within just a couple minutes since meeting up with him.

It was all thanks to her crushing overthinking that she caused herself to stress over the day. It was actually a perfect day to wear the dress, considering how hot it was—but she did not realize just how hot it was.

When she arrived at the meeting area, she nearly fainted on sight when she saw Tooru. He was also sharing the same issue of the hot day, but the sight of him wiping his sweat had brought the heat to rise faster on her skin.

She was able to walk towards him, but the moment she was in front of him—she fell forward and straight into his arms. Yuna was glad that he didn't panic and kept his head levelled.

They were lucky to be near the benches in the park and that was where she currently at.

Her thoughts ended up being interrupted when a cold bottle was placed onto her head. She removed her hand that was covering her eyes and glanced up seeing Tooru smiling at her.

"We should have checked how the weather was today, huh?" He started to say while crouching down and holding the bottle for her

            "I'm sorr—

"Don't" He cut her off shaking his head," It could have been me, so don't bother"

Yuna chuckled and shifted herself to the side, not putting in mind how close she'd end up making her face be to his, but instead of showing her realization. She just smiled back," Yeah, I could tell"

"So, the date didn't start as smooth as I hoped" Tooru leaned on his palm that was plopped on his knee. His lips were turned in a pout and Yuna snickered softly.

"You make it seem like we have to end the day here" When she said those words, Tooru looked up and grinned.

"Wait, you are still up for it?"

"I am starting to feel better, so give me about a couple more minutes and then we can definitely continue all that you planned for," Yuna stated maintaining her eye contact.

Tooru couldn't remove his gaze from her own eyes. He was in shock at her words, because having been on my 'dates', he usually expected things to end abruptly if something came up.

However, this was his mistake—Yuna was not like those other girls. She was different—she was someone who he never thought existed and this was not an exaggeration.

When he saw her properly for the first time, something inside his mind just told him to take the chance and speak with her. For once, the thought of just approaching her to trifle had never crossed his mind.

"I will make sure you never forget this day" Tooru grinned cockily

"Really? So—" Yuna stopped for a split second before reconsidering to comment back, but she chose to be bold and not hold back," It'll just be this one time?"

Upon saying those words, Tooru pressed his lips together and held his breath. He was taken back yet again at the curious and intriguing female.

"Okay, you got me there, Yu-chan" Tooru winked suggestively," Maybe next time, we do what you want"

"Right, you'll end up bored if you do" Yuna shifted her body to lay on her back.

"Did someone tell you that before?" He asked in her defence.

Yuna giggled at his reaction," Well...I've been told a few times, but I just see the things I do as uneventful as what most people would do"

"Don't throw yourself under the bus like that Yu-chan...whatever you choose to do shouldn't be in experience of others"

"So from what you are saying, that if I went on a date or hung out with someone—I should just do what I want?"

"Precisely, if those people can't make an effort in not giving their time to enjoy themselves for the things you do, then it's not worth trying to force yourself"

"Hmm," Yuna hummed and craned her head to face him," Then what about when you go on dates with all girls?" Tooru flinched and before he could speak—Yuna laughed seeing that she cornered him," Don't tell me you don't actually follow your own advice"

Tooru sighed in defeat, forcing a smile," I just do...what they want"

"So it's for them and not you...how boring," Yuna said bluntly while sitting up," Please don't tell me you have something similar planned for today"

Tooru grimaced at her words before averting his gaze. He was humiliated but also, ashamed that he thought of using the same methods as the other girls.

He was already struggling with not thinking about Yuna as anything more than a friend—but when she is blunt and honest, the feeling grew.

She was not sugarcoating—and he adored it.

"Let's try something," Yuna brought a finger to her chin tapping," How about we do whatever without a plan? See something and we do it? How does that sound, To-kun?"

"I think I like it," Tooru grinned at her suggestion," We can definitely do that"

"Great, let's start bold—" Yuna got up from the bench with both hands in a fist as she smiled," First, let's find something cold to eat, what do you say?"

"You don't even have to ask, lead the way" Tooru stood up straight and offered his arm for her to hold. Yuna had wrapped her arm around his and the two walked along the park.

Coincidentally, both had thought of the same thing.

         "We'll be just fine"
