Azalea Pov

"I miss having coffee with you" he whined through the phone.

He has been back in England for five months now, I was surprised when he wanted to keep in touch. A week later I ended up texting him all about Punk 57. Since then we recommend each other books and then talk about them. It's a mini book club, it's called Az and At book club. He made the name.

We talk about anything and everything that's happening in our lives. I surprisingly opened up about my dad, and he told me all about his shitty parents. He didn't want to tell me much about his life there, I think he was scared it would change our friendship.

I guess if I were rich I wouldn't flaunt it everywhere either.

"Me too, wait why aren't you in school and you don't even like coffee" I replied, slightly laughing to myself.

About a month or two ago he told me the only reason he got coffee with me was that he knew I liked it. I'm not sure why he pretended to like everything I did.

"Because I only had classes in the morning today and I miss them because I want to see you're pretty face" He responded. My face heated up as I sighed swiping away the light strands of brown hair that had fallen to my eyes.

"Right, I forgot about the time difference" I mumbled zipping up my bag and slinging it on my shoulder.

I was beginning to miss him. I hated that I was missing someone I had known for over a week. There was just something about him. Something that pulled me in. It made me nervous. I hated how attached I had gotten to him.

"Bye mama" I yelled walking to the door, before bringing my phone back up to my ear. I could hear Atlas giggling on the other side. Unintentionally bringing a smile to my face.

...

A warm breeze hit me as I opened the doors to milk and roses. The smell of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air. Normally there were more people here by now, however today I was the only one there.

"You excited for the end of junior year" Harmony yelled as I walked towards the counter.

"Yep, so excited to finally almost be done" I replied breathily, letting out a large breath.

"You still got one more year" She reminded.

"Please don't leave me after you graduate," She said pouting her lips, bringing her hands together like she was praying. I would never leave my Harmony.

"Also, your usual" She added, handing me my coffee.

I looked up at the round clock that was sitting on one of the walls. "Shit I'm gonna be late," I said hurrying out the door.

"Bye my lovely flower" She yelled giggling making the few people who had just walked in look at her like she was nuts.

...

Standing in front of me was the giant brick building that was my school. I like school - surprisingly - However I have been dreading class every day. Only because of what happened with Jaden, it was all people could talk about for days.

Yes, because my getting cheated on is such a fascinating subject.

I was so ready for this school year to be over. People still had things to say about me- even after the drama. Harmony didn't care about what people thought of her, she was loud and sarcastic and the funniest person I've ever met. Yet she could care less if people stared or whispered about her.

Chemistry is the first class I have of the day, and I sat in front of Jaden. I wish I had found out he was cheating after school ended so I didn't have to deal with his annoying ass every day.

"Hi Azzy," He said smiling down at me whilst leaning against the wall.

I rolled my eyes and walked past him to my seat. "Stop calling me that, I don't like you-u" I replied my hands slowly forming into a fist.

"I was drunk" He whisper yelled following me to his seat. He brought his hands over to mine, I quickly pulled back.

"Yes, because that makes it so much fucking better" I replied before turning back around to face the front of the class.

"Plus that was the soberest I have ever seen you," I said turning back towards him.

After turning back around he started poking me, I knew not to give him a reaction. With my 17 years of living I have learned not to give men a reaction, they don't need any more power.

The teacher suddenly clapped getting everybody's attention. My eyes were now drawn to the short lady standing in front of me.

"For the last day of school, we're going to do a mini experiment" Mrs. Hanley informed. She began passing the assignment around. Giving me a tight-lipped smile as she walked by.

Mrs. Hanley has always been my favorite teacher. I had her as a teacher when my dad was still around and a few times since he left. She always helped us out. Especially after every time he would leave us. She felt like family.

"There is a list over on that wall of the groups you will be paired into" She added, pointing to where Mr. Boney stood. He's the skeleton she kept in the back corner of the room.

Making my way over, I found my name. Dragging my finger across to the second name.

Well fuck.

"Guess we're partners" Jaden exclaimed smirking at me. God how I wish I could smack that smirk off his face.

"Fuck you," I said bumping into his shoulder enough to knock his big frame back a few steps. I could hear his light chuckles as I sat in my chair.

...

"Ma I'm home" I yelled closing and locking the door behind me. Slipping off my shoes before walking any farther.

There was no response which I thought was weird. I heard voices from the hallway. A male voice dominated my mom's.

"This is a good idea" My mom whisper yelled. Standing there was my mom and her boyfriend.

"Uh hey, Jake," I said, awkwardly waving.

I liked Jake, he was nice. However, I hated having to be dependent on someone else, especially a man. He likes to help with our financial issues, my mom thinks it's perfectly okay, I think it sounds like she's dating him for his money.

"Hi, darling" He replied. "You hungry".

His English accent flowed through my ears. Only making me feel sadder about the fact that I couldn't see Atlas anymore. Internally scolding myself for everything reminded me of him. Even my favorite thing- coffee- reminded me of him.

"I guess," I said shrugging my shoulder. Giving them a weak smile.

"Get ready baby, we're going out for a fancy dinner," my mom said pointing to my room. My brows furrowed. We never go out for dinner.

"Uh yeah ok" I replied giving a slight smile then heading for my room.

Stepping into my room was like walking through the aftermath of a tornado. I carefully walked in trying not to step on anything. Casually almost falling as I did so. My room was feeling stuffy, I jumped over a pile of clothes and opened up my window letting in the spring wind flow in.

"I made it and didn't die" I whispered to myself throwing my hands into the air.

Looking through my wardrobe, I realized I own almost nothing nice. I had a few 'party' dresses, however not much for a fancy occasion. Digging through old clothes I came across a Grey pair of trousers. I threw those on along with a black mock neck and a dark Grey puffer jacket. I decided on black heels, then reapplied my makeup.

I looked like an old office woman but it would have to do.

Walking out I took in my mom's and Jake's outfits. Jake was wearing a suit, clearly more expensive than our apartment. Mom was wearing a plain silk blue dress, that had a slight slit going up the leg. How fancy was this restaurant?

"You look beautiful mama" I exclaimed.

We arrived at a steakhouse. My heels clacked on the ground as we walked up the steps. I smiled as we walked in, scanning the restaurant I noticed the dim lighting and the many couples. My smile immediately dropped. Was he? Did he?

I sat down first. Glancing at the menu, my eyes widened. Why would anyone pay this much money for food? Jake and my mom sat down before Jake began talking.

"Have you ever wanted to go to England" He began taking a deep breath before looking at my mom. She nodded her head before they both looked at me.

I almost choked on the water they had brought out not long ago. "I- uh yeah".

"I and you're mom has decided to get married," He said bluntly. My mom brought her hand up showing me the ring. My mouth opened and closed like a fish.

"Wow, that's so exciting," I said, trying to sound as happy as I could. I grabbed her hand and looked at the ring. I was trying to be happy for her.

"There's more," She said with a smile plastered on her face. I gently set her hand down and looked between the both of them. Their smiles could reach the moon.

"We're moving to England, we already have a school set up for you. It's the same school I went to" he exclaimed. "It will be perfect for a new start, our new family" He smiled at me.

My smile dropped. "Um what, no you can't do that. I'm finishing school soon, I have one year left" I whisper yelled. "Plus we're already a family no need to start fresh".

My mind raced to so many thoughts. I wanted- needed him to be here with me. I just knew I couldn't open myself up again. Especially to someone who I knew would break me more.

"It's ok, this is a very prestigious school, you will do great." He cooed.

"Yes, because that makes it so much better," I said throwing my hands up. I closed my eyes calming myself down, knowing the table next to us could hear and see what was going on.

"You're being dramatic, now be quiet the waiter is coming over" she scolded, her eyes burning into my soul. I shut my mouth knowing I shouldn't bring it up again.

...

Dinner was silent for the rest of the night. Know one knew what to say after. All I know is that I don't want to leave the only place I have ever known. I especially don't want to go to a country I have never been to. Even worse I would have to be with stuck-up rich people.

I began researching schools in England. There are a ton of exams and studying I would have to do this summer, which I didn't want to do.

I asked Jake later that night which school it was, knowing I needed to do research before coming to terms that we were moving. Finding the academics section made me very happy, these classes looked much more fun. Then I found the tuition for year 13. My eyes almost popped out of my head. '81,370" I muttered reading the tuition page. My phone blared, breaking me out of my daze.

"Hey, At," I said beginning to regret my decision to pick up the phone.

"Hey-y-y Azz-y-y" he slurred, the loud music and yelling almost covering his voice entirely. "I miss you"

"Um, are you ok. Are you drunk" I rushed out?

"Yes," He said blankly. "I wanna talk tomorrow, ok Azzie" He stammered. "Bye, my girl" Then he hung up.

I closed my eyes, taking in a deep breath. If we're moving to England, he will want to see me. So, I did the most logical thing - not the sarcasm - I blocked his number.

Her room...
