Karen's POV

It's eight in the morning and I have been searching for Rachel for hours.

I was following her scent but then I lost it. It was killing me and I haven't been home. I wasn't going back to the pack without my Luna.

I was getting worried and tried mind linking her again. She had her wall up and I couldn't get through to her. My wolf whined and my heart started hurting. I mind linked Mike to ask him if he's seen Rachel and he said he hasn't.

I smelled blood and it smelled like Rachel's so I sprinted in the direction of the scent. I came across a river and the blood scent got stronger. I found a wolf dead and another wolf licking its leg. The wolf licking its leg was Rachel and she looked occupied licking her wounds.

I walked over to her and she looked up at me and got up. She whined a bit and I walked to her and nudged her with my nose. I laid in front of her and she started limping away.

I barked and she didn't stop. I trotted in front of her and she growled. I ducked my head down and rubbed my head against her neck. She growled softly and laid down on her back. I looked at her wound and growled in anger. If she got that from that fight with that rouge, he's lucky he's dead.

I licked the wound on her leg and she howled in pain. I continued to lick it and she pushed me away. I whimpered and shifted.

"Rachel, please talk to me." I begged.

She shifted back and I saw just how bad her leg is. There was a long open gash from her hamstring to the front of her leg where her shin is.

"Rachel, baby, that needs to be looked at."

"Karen, you make no sense. Everything I do is to help you. At the party, Ariel and I were having fun, she just so happened to seduce her mate in the process. You're getting mad at me for staying while you caught up on what you missed."

"She shouldn't have touched you like that."

"Karen, if her mate was fine with it, why aren't you?" Rachel's wound started bleeding again and she looked like she was about to pass out.

"Rachel, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for overreacting. Please, come back, I need you." I pleaded walking to her. She tried walking to me and fell down screaming.

I caught her before she hit the ground and she was burning up. I set her down and shifted and she climbed onto my back when I kneeled over for her. I walked over to the dead wolf and grabbed him with my mouth and ran back to our pack.

When I got there, some people were shocked and I could feel their concern for their Luna. When I got to the pack doctor, I dropped the dead wolf and he took Rachel from my back.

I growled and barked and Lucy came in and put her in some clothes. She pushed me back outside and had me shift back, handing me my clothes.

"What happened to her?"

"That fucker right there." I said growling lowly.

"Did you know Mike found his mate? It was that one girl with the brunette hair."

"Tiana?" I asked.

"Yeah her. I'm so happy for him."

I nodded and walked to the pack doctor. "What's wrong with her?" I asked.

"Her wound isn't healing, it's infected. Where's the wolf that hurt her?" "Outside."

Lucy and Garrett brought in the wolf and the nurse took blood from the dead wolf and tested it.

I looked at Rachel and she was sweating and moaning in pain. I walked to her and held her hand. "Rachel, honey, what's wrong?"

The wound was turning yellow and the skin around it was black and purple. I wanted to beat that wolf but he was already dead so it would be like kicking a man while he's down.

The nurse gasped and ran to me. "Alpha? The doctor wants you."

I walked to him and he said, "Alpha Karen, the wolf that's dead, his body was filled with wolfbane and silver."

"Are you trying to say that Rachel's wound is infected with a combination of those deadly things?"

He nodded. "That scratch, would kill regular wolves."

I growled and the doctor kept a straight face. "Luna Rachel will be okay. It'll take her a while to get rid of the poisons out of her body."

"She's a Luna. She has alpha healing abilities. Why would it take so long to get it out?"

"We had to cut open a place on her so her blood can drain and the toxins with it."

I took a deep breath and asked in a low, calm voice. "How is she going to get blood back in her?"

"A transfer. I was coming to look at who has the same blood type as her."

"And if you don't find one, then what?"

The doctor gulped and replied, "We stitch up the wound, go to her blood and go through a long and tedious process of separating the poisons from her blood."

"Doctor Fichk, Luna has type O blood." "Who else has it?" "No one from this pack."

He paled and I growled and grabbed him by his throat. "I don't give a shit if you are the doctor. If she dies, I'm killing you for making a poor decision by draining her blood before looking for a match."

I let him go and he started coughing. "Lucy!" I yelled when I walked out of the doctor's office.

She walked in and I fell in her arms crying. "Go get Mike please. Our Luna is dying."

"Of course Alpha." She let me go and ran outside. Mike came running in and came down to my level. "What do you need Alpha?"

"Call all surrounding packs. Ask them if any wolves have type O blood."

"Yes Alpha."

I stood up and wiped my face and walked back to Rachel's room. I held her hand and kissed it. "You're going to be alright. I swear nothing else will happen to you."

Oooh, Rachel is dying. I was gonna say something else but I forgot 😂😂.
