"So where were you going to eat?"

"I-what? Food? Oh, I don't care." Why was I going along with this? I didn't even know this guy yet here I was, going somewhere with him. He had said it was unsafe to be out here, but I didn't even know him.

"Is pizza okay? I think there's a nice place down the road?" He was very obviously new to the area. Even if I hadn't already known, it would've been obvious. Everyone who lived here knew about George's Pizza.

"Yea." I nodded. "George's is pretty good, I like it." I decided that I was not going to eat with him, I had a headache and I couldn't handle this.

I patiently waited until we got to the parking lot before I spoke. "Look, you seem nice and all, but I don't really know you. I'd feel more comfortable eating alone. I could give you directions if you need them?"

He nodded lightly. "I get it. I can find my own way, thanks anyways."

I felt bad, but nodded and turned away.

Nathan seemed to make a conscious effort to avoid me. I still saw his friend around, who I found out is called Jax, but Nathan didn't stop me to tell me to tie my shoes or yell at me to slow down so I don't trip when I was running inside. I honestly didn't know how I felt about the sudden change. I didn't want to admit it, but I missed his attention. I started to really get agitated when he passed me in the hall and didn't even say hi. Jax did, like always, but Nathan didn't. He couldn't be that upset about what happened the other day, could he?

I stepped out of the building and into the cold air. I had accidentally forgotten my jacket inside but I was too lazy to go get it.

"What are you doing? Where is your jacket?" I whipped around to face Jax, he was standing a few feet away with an irritated Nathan next to him.

"I'm going out, not that it's your business, and my jacket is inside."

"Go get it." Excuse me? Who did he really think he was? "It's cold, you could get sick."

I sent Jax a glare. "No thanks. I'll be fine." I turned to walk away before Nathan's voice stopped me.

"Don't be a brat. Go get your jacket before you get sick." Why did they think they could boss me around? I shoved down the happiness I felt at finally being acknowledged by Nathan and put a scowl on my face. The first time he talks to me in days and he's calling me a brat?

"I'm not a brat, I just dont want to. I'll be fine if you let me get out of the cold and get in my car." Nathan and Jax both rolled their eyes at me. I just huffed and walked away. I was stopped by an arm wrapping around my waist and turning me around. It was Jax. I never noticed how green his eyes were. Wow. He was beautiful.

"I won't tell you again to get your ass inside and put a jacket on."

My eyes widened at his deep tone and almost threatening words. I shivered slightly and took a step back. I could see Nathan watching calmly from the corner of my eye. What the heck?

"The only place I'm taking my ass is to get foo-" I was cut off when Nathan lightly tsked and snapped his fingers in my face. "Don't put your fingers in my face!"

"Watch your mouth, little girl. Just go put a jacket on." I stared at him in shock. Who the fuck-

I stepped out his reach and glared at him. First they tell me what to do, then they call me a brat and continue trying to boss me around, and then he calls me a little girl? Who the fuck did they think they were? My dads?

I stepped back again with a harsh glare trained on them. "No."

Jax sighed loudly in exasperation. He was acting so dramatic oh my gosh. I watched as he made a huge ass show of shrugging out of the jacket he was wearing over his hoodie.

"Here, just wear this so you don't get sick." He was dead wrong if he thought he was ever getting this back. I pulled it on and inhaled the scent of soap and whatever amazing cologne he wore. This was definitely mine now.

"Thanks. I'm actually heading to George's." I turned slightly to make eye contact with Nathan, giving him a smile. "Join me?"
