Between work and Astrid and Nathan's 'breaks' it took a little under two weeks to get all of Astrid's things moved into the boys' apartment. They were all excited, if not slightly nervous and Astrid was even more hyper than usual, slipping in and out of her headspaces. She'd been obedient for the most part, only acting bratty when she was grumpy in the mornings. She'd also been spending more time with the weird kid she worked with. Honestly I didn't know if I should feel threatened or not. On one hand, he was hot, on the other, he was an idiot. So it's really up in the air at the moment.

"Jax! I'm heading out really quick, do you need anything?"

"No, I'm good. What time does Astrid get home?"

"Soon. Bye." He slammed the door behind him and finally, I had quiet.

I made my way over to the couch and propped my feet up to enjoy the silence while I could.

The door slammed open.

"Daddy! You will not believe what Collin did today! Please tell me there's some kind of pasta in the house?"

I got up and followed Astrid into the kitchen as she whirled around like a storm. She really was beautiful. She was a mix of anger and amusement. Her eyes sparkled and her cheeks were flushed with red. She was clearly holding back her laughter and trying to appear upset, her nose already scrunched up like it did when she genuinely found something funny. 

"...can you even imagine why someone would do that? I can't. He can be so...ugh! You know?"

"Mhm, come here and cuddle. I wanna hold you."

She paused and turned to face me, her entire demeanor softening.

"Okay, pasta can wait."

She followed me into the den, climbing onto my lap when I sat down. I pulled her closer and snuggled my face into her hair.

"I missed you all day, baby."

She giggled and tried to pull back, but I held her to me. "I missed you too, daddy. Where's Nathan?"

"He went to the store." I shifted so I was laying down and Astrid was sitting up in my lap. I held my hands up and she intertwined her fingers with mine, a slight smile on her face. I watched her as she played with my fingers, and could basically see her slipping. "Come cuddle, sweetheart."

Astrid giggled and plopped her upper body down onto mine before wrapping her arms tightly around me. I sighed in content and ran my fingers through her hair with one hand, the other tracing shapes on her back.

"Okay, so I know Astrid loves pasta so I just went to the little Italia-" I stepped into the house to see Jax and my angel cuddled up on the couch asleep. I set
the bags on the counter and climbed onto the couch beside Jax, enveloping them in my arms. I pressed kisses to both of their heads and closed my eyes.

a/n: okay wow, i didnt think that you'd actually go read my other book, but since you did, i thought id give you an early update. its a bit shorter than i wanted but i got excited so :)
