"Do you wanna go somewhere after work?"

"I would love to!" Collin's eyes lit up. "If we didn't have this stupid date tonight." He pouted.

"The date's at eight, we get off at five. That's plenty of time."

"I'm a girl." He just stared blankly at me. "I need more time to get ready. It's going to take me the whole three hours to get dressed."

Collin gave me a disgusted look and shivered. "You're supposed to be the girl who's one of the guys. One swipe of eye stuff, some chapstick, a ponytail and you're good to go. Why are you acting like a normal girl?"

I just let him do his thing and be dramatic as fuck. When he finished I gestured to my dress covered form, as well as my full face of makeup and curled hair. "I always dress up. I've never been one of the guys."

He shook his head disapprovingly. "Who are you?"

°°°°°

"Astrid! It's almost eight, we have to go!"

"I'm right here, why are you yelling?"

Nathan jumped and turned to face me before frowning. "What are you doing down here?"

"I'm waiting so we can leave."

"You were supposed to come down the stairs so I could be breathless and tell you that you look beautiful." He pouted and gave me a pleading look.

"I'm not going back up there, and besides, why would I walk down the stairs when there's an elevator?" More pouting. "And Nathan, darling? I don't look beautiful, I am beautiful. Let's go."

"Astrid, you're ruining our date stereotype! Go back up the stairs and come down shyly. And blush when I say you look, you are, beautiful! And besides, I'm not asking you to go back to your apartment, just up these stairs and into the lobby."

I just stared at him for a long moment. Was he serious? This had to be a joke. "No. Now come on."

Nathan pouted and grumbled under his breath the entire way to the resturaunt. His grumbling was really starting to tick me off, and I was becoming agitated. By the time we got there I was extremely wound up and annoyed.

"Wait! I'm supposed to open the door for you."

I spun around and glared at the man child standing behind me. "Can you just come on so we can go?" I practically stomped into the building and made my way over to where Collin was seated.

I sat myself down, much to Nathan's disappointment, and began to talk to Collin.

"Where's your date?" I peered around the place, but didn't see anyone heading our way. There also didn't seem to be anyone sitting in the seat next to him.

"She'll be here soon. Traffic. Where's your other boyfriend?"

"Jax is busy and he doesn't like this kind of thing." He doesn't like you. "He prefers more of a low-key scene."

Collin nodded. "I can see that." He sipped his glass of water and shot a confused look towards Nathan. "What crawled up his ass?"

"He's overreacting because I didn't give him the stereotypical first date experince. He wanted me to slowly walk down the stairs and be shy." I rolled my eyes.

"I'm right here you know. You could talk to me. We're on a date too, Astrid."

"I know." I turned to face him. "What would you like to talk about?"

He gave me a thoughtful look and set his chin down in his hand. "What would you do if you had a million dollars?"

"I would donate it to animal shelters and sponser scholarships."

Nathan looked impressed. "Wow, that's a really good answ-"

"I", Collin butted in, "would get a big ass house and a cool ass car."

"One, he didn't ask you. Two, you'd crash your cool ass car in a day." I didn't realize what I'd said until Nathan squeezed my thigh in warning. I turned and mouthed a quick "sorry" to him before focussing back on Collin. "Where is your date Collin?"

His face turned red. "Shesnotcoming."

"What? English please."

He sighed heavily and propped his head up on his hand. "She canceled. I didn't want to say anything because I knew how excited you were."

I gave him a blank look. He knew damn well I wasn't excited. "Mhm. What's the real reason."

"By the time she texted me, it was too late. I thought we could still eat at least, so the night wouldn't be a complete waste."

I nodded my head. "So do you guys know what you're getting?"

°°°°°

"That was actually fun. I'm happy you and Collin are getting along better." I reached across the consol and put my hand on Nathan's shoulder. "It means a lot to me."

He gave me a boyish smile. "I aim to please."

I rolled my eyes and laughed. "I'm not ready to head back just yet. Maybe we can draw this out?"

"Astrid Winters! Are you trying to seduce me?" He dramtically put a hand in his chest and scoffed. "I'm a man of honor, you can't have a peice of me until there's a ring on my finger." He pulled into an empty parking lot and shut the car off. "Unless," he turned to face me, "you beg."

"Nathan! I'm not trying to have sex with you, I just don't want the date to end. Jesus Christ!" I broke into uncontrollable laughter and Nathan just smiled and watched me.

"I love your laugh. Your whole face just lights up, and you scrunch your nose in the cutest way."

I sent him a fond look. "Come on, lets sit on the hood of the car and give you the cliche date you wanted."

°°°°°

"No that's ridiculous, aliens don't necessarily have the same needs we do. Maybe they can live on planets as cold as pluto." I shifted my head slightly and cuddled closer to Nathan.

"Then why do scientists say that Earth is the only planet capable of sustaining life?"

"Capable of sustaining human life, hun. Besides, don't they believe there may have been life on Mars at one point? Mars isn't Earth, Nathan."

He just sighed and pulled me closer, planting a kiss on my head. "This is nice. We should-" He was cut off by his phone. "It's Jax, he wants to know what's taking so long."

I pulled my self up and reached down for Nathan's hand. "Its time to go anyway, come on."

We both got in the car and Nathan turned to face me, grabbing my hands in his.

"This really was fun. I hope we can do this over and over again. Maybe with Jax next time." I laughed and leaned over to give him a kiss.
