“Come on, Jisung, we're going to be late!”

Minho ran down the hallway into their room, flinging himself on the bed. Jisung was still in the closet getting changed.

They were supposed to be going to a party at Felix's place, but of course he was taking forever to get ready. “How about we just,” Jisung poked his head around the doorway of the closet, looking at Minho. “stay in?”

Minho scrunched up his face, glaring at him. The younger man sighed, disappearing back into the closet. “Fiiiiine I'll get ready, geez.”

“Hey, it's Christmas! You know how much I like Christmas. Plus all your friends are there. We'll finally get to meet Chan's BamBam!”

Jisung groaned from inside the enclosed space, knowing that Minho was right. “Here, how about this?” He stepped out, donned in ripped black jeans and a plain red T-shirt.

“Yeah okay that's fine.”

Jisung pulled on some black rimmed glasses, grabbing his keys and walking to the front door, Minho somewhere behind him. “Pfft, just 'fine’. I am better than fine, I'll have you know!” He shouted the last part over his shoulder, hoping for Minho to hear it.

“Mmhmm.” Minho said, closing the door behind them.

The drive to Felix's place was completely silent. Normally they would be talking, laughing even, but something felt off.

Jisung parked the car and just sat there for a moment, eyes closed. His hand still rested on the gear shift. Neither of them moved to get out, silence hanging heavy between the two.

Minho, very confused as to why exactly it felt so weird all of a sudden, reached out a hand and cupped it over Jisung's.
“You ready to go?”

Jisung quickly blinked out of whatever daze he had been in, resolution in his voice as he spoke again.
“Yeah,” a quick smile flashed on his face as he opened the door, pulling his hand out from underneath Minho's. “Let's go have fun!”

“Hey, Jisung!” Felix said, as he opened the door to let him in, keeping it open for Minho a few steps behind. “Hi, Minho!” he smiled, leading them both into the living room.

Everyone was in there, and they cheered as the trio entered.

“So we've got drinks in the kitchen, food as well. Uh- mistletoe somewhere in the other room, dunno where, you'd have to ask Changbin.” He smirked, turning away before he could catch either of their uncomfortable grins.

“And, guys, this is Hyunjin. I don't know if you know him or not, he doesn't exactly work in the same area as us, but he's from work. We're friends.”

Minho waved shyly, Jisung merely nodding in his direction.

Minho went over and grabbed a drink before going back and starting up a conversation with Hyunjin. Jisung watched him go, then made his way over to where Chan and Changbin sat on the couch, sitting with them.

Music played in the background, and Jisung felt slightly uneasy. He had never liked parties.

---

Most of the party passed in a flash. By now all the energy was starting to die down, and mostly everyone was curled up in the room watching a movie.

Chan and BamBam were cuddled in an armchair together, and Felix and Changbin were on opposite ends of the couch, playing footsie. Jisung sat in one of the back corners of the livingroom, watching as his drunk boyfriend flirted with this Hyunjin person right in front of him. He knew that Minho couldn't control it, and would never do such a thing if he wasn't under the influence. But he also knew that he was the one being horrible in this situation.

He should be taking Minho home, not just observing as he threw their life away. Maybe in some sick, twisted way, Jisung wanted Minho to do this. To have someone.

Minho's life would be a whole lot easier if he could have someone close by. Someone who wasn't about to leave him for over three years- or more.

Unknown to him, Changbin was also watching what was happening in front of the couch as well. His gaze slid over to Jisung's, which was blank as he also stared at Minho.

Changbin narrowed his eyes, and kicked Felix in the butt.

“Ow!” Felix whisper-yelled, pouting at Changbin, “what was that for?”

The shorter of the two tilted his head down at the scene that was playing out in front of them, then turned his head and raised his eyebrows pointedly in Jisung's direction. “End the party” he mouthed, hoping that Felix would understand.

Felix's eyes widened, and he cleared his throat, reaching for the TV remote.
“Welp that was fun! Now I'm tired and you are too. Go, shoo, get out of my house.”

Groans chorused from around the room as people began to move.

Chan got up and stretched, pulling a very sleepy BamBam to his feet. Hyunjin shrugged sheepishly at Jisung as he stood up, genuinely not wanting to get involved in whatever was going on between the two.

As everyone filtered out of the house, Felix yelled after them. “Drive safely!”
Jisung and Minho were the last two out, the latter clinging to Jisung as he walked out the door.

Changbin shot him a sympathetic look as he went. “Y'know, you should talk about it. We're leaving soon, and I know it can't be easy, but it's okay. Do what you both think is best.” understanding shone in his eyes as he reached back for Felix's small hand.

Jisung nodded tensely, helping Minho into his side of the car.

Once again, a blanket of silence fell over them, that is, until Minho decided to shakily speak up, halfway home.

“I love you, Sungie.” He slurred, scooching more towards Jisung, although not leaving his own seat.

Jisung tightened his mouth into a thin line, saying nothing. He focused on the road, trying to ignore Minho's stares from the seat over.

“I love you, a bushel and a peck-”
Minho began singing, turning to look out the window.

“Do you really?” Jisung's voice was barely above a whisper.

Minho's head snapped back around to look at him. “Yeah of course. I love you so so so much.” He held out both hands, “I love you this many.”

Jisung shook his head slightly, speaking to himself, “geez what did Felix put in those drinks.” he glanced over at Minho, “then why were you all over that Hyunjin at the party?”

The other's eyes were widened, innocent and huge. The lights from the streets reflected in them. “I don't know what you're talking about. Wait.. you mean my new friend?”

Jisung sighed. Of course Minho had no idea that he was coming off as anything other than sociable and friendly.
“Yeah, no it's fine. Let's just go home and sleep.”

Minho shifted around in his seat, head lolling back against the seatbelt. “Or we can just… sleep now.”

Despite himself, Jisung let out a breath of laughter, letting himself smile for just one moment. This had to stop. He wouldn't be able to leave if Minho still loved him this much. So, the only logical thing was to… tarnish his own memory in Minho's mind. Make him fall out of love.
