A place where I can go
To take this off my shoulders
Someone take me home🦋

Raelynn's Pov:

I was jolted awake by my doorbell constantly ringing. Sleepily, I removed my blanket and stepped out of my bed. My room was still dark so I grab my phone to check the time. While doing so, I was surprised to see 22 missed calls from Kyson.

Oh shit.

I hope everything is okay.

Now fully awake, I hurriedly made my way downstairs and went to the front door to open the door. I was wearing black silky pyjamas set; spaghetti strap top and booty shorts.

I opened the door and it was Kyson. I was taken aback when I saw his appearance; his hair was messy, his white shirt was half tucked in his black pant and half of the front shirt was hanging out. His tie was loose around his neck.

Without saying anything else, he rushed to me and pulled me into a hug. When our bodies collided, the pressure send me backwards and if he wasn't holding me, I would have fallen.

He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist before burying his face in my neck.

"He's gone." He murmured, his voice breaking.

At first, I was confused but then only one person came to my mind making my heart drop.

Evan.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, "I'm so sorry Kyson,"

I slowly rub his back, comforting him. I didn't move, I didn't pull away, I didn't talk, I only gave him the comfort he needed at the moment.

A good moment went by before he pulled away.

"I'm leaving in two hours." He spoke quietly.

"Can I come with you?" I asked.

"Yes please,"

---

We took the private jet and reached the airport where the same car and driver picked us up. On the jet, Kyson told me that they would be doing the funeral as soon as they get the body from the clinic. No one besides his brothers will be present there.

We were back at the lack house.

When we walked inside the house, Alec was in the living room alone. He was on his phone scrolling and when he noticed us, he threw his phone on the couch before marching to Kyson to hug him.

Not gonna lie, I like that they were open to each other. They weren't hiding their feelings behind their cold self.

"The old man left us," Alec tried to joke but his voice didn't match his usual self. His smile shows his sadness.

Kyson patted his back.

They both pulled away.

"I'm sorry for your lost," I told him. Alec reached to my side hugging me.

"Tobias went to do the paperwork, you both should rest for a while before the funeral," Alec told us.

"We will go to our room," Kyson told him.

We spent the next hours in our room on the bed just cuddling and talking. When Tobias was done with the paperwork and everything else, he called us and told us to meet him at a specific place that only Alec and Kyson knew about.

We got ready in black outfits.

(Raelynn's outfit⬆)

We sat in the van and Alec drove us to the place. We drove twenty minutes before Alec stopped and we stepped out. This area was still surrounded by the woods but it was well-hidden, clean and prettier. We followed a path leading us deeper into the woods.

Soon I saw Tobias standing by a coffin. There was another tombstone by the hole that they dug.

I felt Kyson intertwine our fingers as we reached Tobias's side. My eyes landed on Evan, who was resting in the coffin in his black tuxedo. His skin looked so pale and fresh.

"One by one, we should say our last goodbye," Tobias spoke, his eyes still fixed on Evan.

"You go first, we'll be by mom's grave," Kyson told Tobias.

He nodded.

So it was their mother's tombstone.

We walked by the tombstone.

Fiona Eliza Lucero
A loving daughter, wife and mother.

"Dad always told us to bury him next to mum," Kyson talked.

"These two were inseparable. I hope they find each other again in the afterlife." Alec added softly.

Alec was the second one to go to say goodbye and then Kyson went. I didn't go with him as it was his moment. They did their last goodbye and soon the coffin was being lowered into the soil.

We stayed by the grave till it became dark. All of them were lost in their thoughts and they didn't realize how fast time went by.

Eventually, we left.

The maid prepared a light dinner for us and after eating, we went to bed.

Kyson's pov:

It was 4 30 am when I woke up. Not gonna lie, I didn't sleep well. I glanced to my side and saw Raelynn sleeping peacefully. Yesterday, she stay up late with me until I fell asleep. I was grateful that she accompanied me here. I smiled as I looked at her. I pulled the blanket to her shoulder before leaning to kiss her forehead.

I stepped out of the bed making my way downstairs.

I walked to the spot where dad usually sits to watch the sunrise. He always watched it as if it was his last time watching it and unfortunately it came to an end.

My heart was still sore. All his memories, all his talking came back in my mind as if he was standing in front of me, saying those things and doing those actions.

I heard footsteps but I didn't look.

"This sunrise feels weird," Tobias murmured.

"We'll eventually have to get used to it," I said even if I wasn't ready to accept it.

"It's hard." A low voice added, "I know being in this mafia world, we went through the worst but this one suck. It was already hard when mom passed away and now dad... I-I fucking hate this feeling of being helpless."

Alec let out a frustrated sigh and I reached to wrap my arm around his shoulder, giving it a light squeeze.

"Dad made a will." Tobias started, "He gave each one of us a share of his money, properties and other things. But this lake house, he didn't share it. He wanted us to have it together and keep it the same way that it was when mom was living here."

"Okay," I nodded.

"Okay," Alec nodded.

"We can meet up here occasionally. Do dinners, vacation trips..."
