Raelynn's Pov:

We had breakfast and lunch with Evan. None of the guys were back yet and not gonna lie, we were getting bored. Cassandra and I were chilling in the living room when Evan came to us. He doesn't need anyone to push him around as there was a control thing on the armrest which made it easier for him to move around.

He proposed to give us a tour around the property, so we agreed. Maybe I will be able to clear the doubt of being watched if I see the security guys or anyone working on this property.

We head outside.

Evan wheeled in front of us while Cassandra and I followed him. We went to the side on a road trail into the woods. The trail led to the rim of the lake, closer to the water.

"I love being here," he commented.

"It's pretty," I said and he nodded.

"The water is low here, anyone can swim. Maybe later you all can take a swim." He suggested.

"Sounds good," Cassandra spoke.

Again, the feeling of being watched came back. I turned around, examining the area that was surrounding us. I found nothing and I was going to turn back when I saw something move from the trees. I shift my eyes to the ground where I thought I saw movements and I saw a shadow.

Someone was hiding.

"Let's go down a little bit," Evan suggested.

Might not be the wise thing to do right now. We were already far from the house. Before I could talk, he was already going away. I walked to him.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked Evan.

"Yes?"

We were still walking on the trail.

"Are there any security guards around the property?" I inquired.

"Oh no and I had to be really persuasive toward my sons. They wanted to put some guards in the front, but I refused." He chuckled.

Maybe you should have accepted.

"Is there any gardener or maid who works around here?" I inquired.

Cassandra furrowed her eyebrows giving me a questioning look.

"No, not that I know of." He answered.

Okay.

I heard shuffling which made me more alarmed. Whoever it was, they were following us and we were far from the house. I can protect Evan and Cassandra easily but it would be better if we were close to the house.

"Maybe we should stop here," I said.

"Ok, what's wrong?" Cassandra asked instantly. She understood that something was wrong. Even Evan stopped turning toward me.

"I just need you to trust me and go back into the house with Evan. Don't make it obvious that you are running away though." I told Cassandra.

"Why?" Evan inquired, alarmed.

"I trust you," Cassandra stated.

"I'll stay back, then I'll join you. Stay in his room and locked the door, I'll knock twice, only then you open the door." I told her and she nodded.

Cassandra grabbed the handle at the back of his chair and pushed the wheelchair toward the house. I only stay back to see if whoever was following us would follow them or stay here with me.

But no one moved.

I made my way into the wood, going slowly to the trees. I looked around carefully.

Suddenly a hand came flying to my face. Luckily I block his arm before kicking him in the stomach. I couldn't see his face as he was wearing a black mask. He screams running back to me. I ducked his punch, punching him in the stomach before turning around to sidekick him. He went flying to the ground.

I instantly went onto him and held him on his front by putting my knees on his back. I grab his arm twisting it on his back. He groaned.

"Who are you?" I asked sternly.

He laughed, "It doesn't matter. I don't matter. There will be a group coming here soon and you will be dead. Your boyfriend might already be dead."

My heart skip a beat.

My boyfriend? So they know me.

"What do you mean?" I purposely pull his arm making him groan in pain.

"They are coming," he said before I felt a big vibration and heard a gunshot. I watched as his body went lifeless and when I look down, there was blood running from under him.

He shot himself.

I stood up.

There was some stain of blood on my white jean. I looked around in case there was someone else before running back to the house. Evan's room was downstairs so I went there first. I knocked twice before Cassandra opened the door and I walked inside.

"What's happening?" Evan demanded, his eyes fixed on the blood stain.

"We were being watched. I just caught a guy in the wood and he said that a group were coming here and that we will be dead." I explained.

"Oh shit," Evan cursed.

"He shot himself," I started, "but before that, he said that my boyfriend might be already dead."

Cassandra gasped.

"No, that can't be possible." Evan shook his head, "No one will die. I might be weak but my aim with a gun is still good. I will protect you two and rest assured, both of your boyfriends are fine. Nothing will happen to them."

"That won't be needed. I can protect us," I told him.

"No dear, I will take-"

"Sir, you should let her. She knows what she's doing." Cassandra spoke before giving me a nod.

"That's absurd." He stated.

"Cassandra, I'm going out. Close the door." I told her and she nodded.

"I'll try to call Val or Kyson." She added.

Hopefully, they are all fine.

I made my way to the living room while Cassandra closed the door behind me. I went to the couch and sat down, waiting for them to show up. I wasn't scared but I was a little nervous.

Cassandra's pov:

Once I closed the door, I reached to grab my phone. I instantly dial Val's number.

"This is ridiculous. I should be out there protecting you." Mr Lucero stated.

"Sir, as long as she's outside we will be good. But I need to get in contact with either Kyson or Val because I ain't letting my cousin fight these stranger morons all by herself." I declared.

"She might be a fighter but-"

"She ain't a fighter," I corrected him.

"Hello?"

"Val!"
